To me, it does. Historically speaking, it seems like whenever there's a girl that I really like and, at least on paper, would be a great match, they wouldn't touch me with a ten foot pole. I've also noticed that the moment I notice someone likes me, they instantly stop liking me. Guess the ladies aren't really big on the spacey prog-rocker (and the prog-rocker chicks are nowhere to be seen. Or with someone else).

It's fascinating, really. You're almost precisely a year younger than I, yet you have covered a hell of a lot more ground. I've only been to one party in my time at Uni, and I absolutely hated it. The music was awful, everyone was hammered beyond any attempt at reasonable conversation, and my social anxiety was well into the redline. It probably didn't help that my roommate at the time who dragged me there (most popular guy in my year...) completely ditched me within the first 60 seconds of walk…

Wonderful advice. And nice League reference!

While having a razor sharp wit and a large breadth of knowledge can certainly help it can also hurt (paralysis by analysis). That being said, I know one fellow who is ugly as sin and so mind wrenchingly stupid that he doesn't realize how ugly or stupid he is. Dude gets laid all the time, by real stunners. In a hilarious twist, the man is outrageously confident BECAUSE he's a complete imbecile. And it works for him. It's really unfair...

Try smoking a sativa. Sounds to me like you're partaking in indica.

Short, ever so slightly on the thinner side of average, cute face, high intellect, kind-hearted. Bonus points if she's a nerd, metalhead, or Asian. I have met only one girl who was all of those things, and I didn't know what game was back then... Still kicking myself for that.

I have a slightly different problem with vocal tonality. When I speak with a full voice, 85-90% of the time I have the deepest voice in the room, and it booms. However, I'm also a meager 5'7 scrawny white guy, so everyone who doesn't personally know me thinks I'm faking it.

While it cannot be argued that sex isn't a deeply ingrained part of the human psyche, what puzzles me is how otherwise intelligent or even brilliant individuals are so inherently terrible at the game in spite of it being so essential to the survival of the species. Shouldn't a lack of game been evolved out of the population by now?

If one is going to get a Futon, make sure it's a damn good one. A bought a cheap one and the first time I slept on it I woke up with crippling muscle spasms in my back for the better part of the day. I demanded my money back.

How would you go about dismantling the mental programming of the Catholic church. This seems like a particularly tricky one to navigate.

0% Yeah, I'm definitely doing something wrong. May have something to do with getting so nervous on approach (which I am doing), that I noticeably stammer and twitch.

Well, from ages 5-17 I was picked on relentlessly (and for no discernible reason either, it was just arbitrarily decided that I was going to be the kid everyone made fun of), and from that I became absolutely terrified of drawing any attention to myself, so I ended up mastering the art of drawing absolutely no attention to myself to try to avoid all that. That probably has something to do with it.

I have an impossibly hard time with this. The instant I make eye contact with someone, I look away so fast I don't even realize I've done so until a few moments afterwords. It's been like that since I was a little kid, and it is INCREDIBLY frustrating. It's like a reflex.

I don't know, I've attempted the fake it til you make it thing, everything just came out super forced. Didn't work well.

Well, I would like to find a girl that's into similar stuff. Hence the sausage fest issue. Finding one that digs metal and card games is like panning for gold, I swear.

My hobbies are gaming of just about any sort, PC, tabletop, cards you name it. I also am a tremendous metal head. I've tried this bit of advice, but the issue is that all venues for those sort of things are ALWAYS complete an utter sausage fests. It seems like the kind of girls I like just don't really go out very often, because I have not been able to find one that really, truly is into those things.

Well currently I have: Taught myself how to sing Taught myself how to death growl (and sound damn good doing it) Started a band In the process of learning: Bass Driving stick Game (currently 0 for 10... Oh well) I'm beginning to turn into a certifiable badass. I'm beginning to sense that the sort of ladies I like (and would like me) don't go out very often, though :(

A job well done and, totally unrelated, this may well be the most overtly British thing I have read in quite some time.

In my experience, bringing up a taste for death metal usually is an instantaneous and virtually automatic turn off. It's sad, really :( Ladies, why you no love Opeth?!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
