I’m an aunt to 4, and a great aunt to 1! My 19 year old niece was over at the weekend cooing about my house decor and how she wants to live my life. It’s very flattering. She listens to teenage feminist podcasts too haha.

This is one of the biggest reasons I’m currently single. My ex was exactly as you described yours and his mood would impact everyone around him. I had a bf after him and, although he had his own issues, one of my favourite things about him was how positive and happy he was. He would wake up smiling and excited for the day and make plans with me and very little put him in a bad mood. That wonderful trait of his turned to a negative when I realised he was like this because he took zero responsibil…

I’d love to use my experiences for good use in the police. After a 7 year relationship with an abusive narc, I have developed a super power and can sniff it out. It’s like a radar. For example, I didn’t like my neighbour when we got to talking about his cat (who keeps trying to move in with me). My skin was crawling, I felt fear. And it was odd because subjectively he’s a very handsome, confident man in his 40s who was being perfectly pleasant. Fast forward a few weeks, I’m sitting under a bush …

I became a feminist and accidentally painted every room in my house pink. I’m not sure I particularly like pink but I love how feminine my house is and it’s a big warning to any man that this is a woman’s house. I also have a neon sign saying ‘queens in residence’. Plural because my little cat, Clio, is a Queen too.

After being subjected to years of vile comments from DM readers, FDS was like a light in the dark when I found it. If we’ve wound them up, we know we’ve succeeded.

I made friends with a homeless man, I’d give him food, money, clothing etc. I used to see him on my commute to work. I didn’t see him for a good couple of years and walked past him not recognising him and he got up in my face and starting screaming at me because I didn’t say hello. I genuinely didn’t recognise him as he’d grown a beard.

I dumped my bf when we hit lockdown last year. He decided to stop working, claim benefits and ‘make music’ (this is a 40 year old man who really isn’t that good a musician). I overheard him on the phone to the benefits line and he was getting excited at the prospect of a few months off. I just looked at him and thought ‘you’re an irresponsible child poncing off our system’.

She made it, thankfully, but has been left with a lot of trauma from… well, dying I suppose. She was allergic to the muscle relaxant in the anaesthetic. It makes me feel sad, it wasn’t worth it.

My boss had a boob job that eventually leaked into her breasts and lymph nodes (she also died twice on the operating table when they tried to remove them) and it made her boobs solid. Is this what he wants? Fucked up boob jobs with a risk to life? So sexy.

I’ve had 2 therapists and 1 psychologist. The therapists were next to useless, in hindsight, I was in an abusive relationship (but didn’t quite realise it at the time) and I was explaining what was going on at home and both just kind of smiled sympathetically. One suggested a put a cleaning rota in place. FML. The psychologist was much better. She challenges me and makes me think. She met me when I was a pick me but I checked in with her this year for some grief counselling and she told me I’d s…

I hate the DM and everything it stands for but I have to begrudgingly take my hat off to them on this one, all the other news outlets were going down the mental health route in their articles yesterday while the mail had several articles talking about incels. That’s Leicester Square, I was supposed to go and meet my friend in central London to watch the game but she sent me some videos when she got there and said that men were weeing everywhere and throwing bottles. She came back to where we live. I’m so ashamed of these men. Our team played well and deserved praise today, not to be associated with racist, violent thug like behaviour. I’m embarrassed to be English today. And then I have to remind myself that I’m not suprised, I’ve been surrounded by …

I threw a monumental internal fit last year at having to do my own DIY. And then I went on to build a dressing room, landscape my garden, decorate, build furniture and caulk! I was stunned at how capable I was, this might sound weird but it all kind of went hand in hand with discovering FDS for me. I also have a male friend who wants to be with me who brings me dinner and does my electrical stuff though. I’m like ‘no! Oh I know about the men not speaking out. I thought it was double pathetic that they couldn’t say something in the group but could privately. What use is that? They’re just as bad. As for my girl friend, I always thought she was strong and outspoken but I’ve seen a very different side of her the last few months. She’s currently entertaining a LVM, honestly the stories make my toes cringe. But that would have been me a couple of years ago so I’ll be patient with her.

I had this yesterday. A politician (Hancock 🤮🤮) has been caught having an affair in his office during lockdown. He’s married with children. He’s also our health secretary who has set the rules for lockdown. He’s absolute scum. My male friend on a group chat said he’s his new hero and can you blame the man, he has a penis etc. I told him as a father to a daughter he should be ashamed to call this man a hero, he should expect more from his fellow man, his wife and children are being dragged throug…

I’m late 30s so my age range is set 32-45. Honestly, I don’t think most men over the age of 40 have heard of moisturiser. They just look dusty, I don’t know how else to explain it. And I can’t get out of my head when the podcast were speaking about saggy balls. Discovering for myself that this happens to older men was horrifying. No one warned me!! My mate started talking to a 47yo and I kept winding her up saying he would have saggy balls and chanting at her ‘oneMississippi, two Mississippi’. I…

I had a Maine Coon (they’re really fluffy) and he barely shed. I have a little fluffy moggy now and she’s started moulting the first time last week. I brush her for a couple of mins and that seems to be enough as she has very fine soft hair. Luckily she’s almost all black and so is my wardrobe so we match. But I have a beautiful ginger cat (he’s 18!) who visits me every day and he really sheds and his fur is thick. I imagine that would get everywhere!!

My ex pulled my cat by his tail once and my cat ripped his arms to pieces (he was a big Maine Coon). I wasn’t in the room at the time and when I asked what happened and he told me he pulled his tail I’ve never been so annoyed with someone in my life. I checked my cat over and gave him hugs and told my ex that I’m pleased he got scratched, if anyone grabs my cat and hurts them I want my cat to defend themselves. He could have really hurt him.

I heard a song by tupac the other day and it made me so sad that rap didn’t continue with his message. This was the lyric Since we all came from a women, got our name from a women, and our game from a women. I wonder why we take from women, why we rape our women, do we hate our women? I think its time we killed for our women, be real to our women, try to heal our women, cus if we dont we'll have a race of babies that will hate the ladies, who make the babies. I was dating a man when I found out my 11 month old cat was dying last year. Comments he made included ‘I’ll be your cat’ and ‘just get another cat’. I dumped him immediately. That rain was torrential last night. I’d have been annoyed too, it’s not like we didn’t all know a huge storm was coming. It’s been hanging in the air for days. Ugh. I wouldn’t beat myself up over it though. You didn’t know he was gonna be such a melt, you gave him a chance and he failed.

I saw a video where a man was defending himself against 3 men and 1 women hitting him with sticks. The video was amazing, it was like a slow mo action dorky superhero thing. This poor sod did really well. Top comment was saying how amazing the guy was for hitting a women back. That was their take away from it. I once spent 6 months trying to find porn of a man sucking a woman’s boobs. That’s all I wanted to see; sensual, slow and normal boob play. It doesn’t exist. There’s lots of videos of women having their boobs put in bondage or nipples pulled and twisted aggressively but that’s not what I was looking for. I think I found FDS around that same time and it all made sense why it doesn’t exist.

Thank you!! This was always my outlook for years and my mum used to say ‘don’t tell them’ and I disagreed with her. But on reflection over the past year I realised how it could be attracting the wrong type of man. My last bf of a year was a taker, I kind of made it easy for him because I was openly proud of all I was doing at the time (although he didn’t know figures he could see from my lifestyle and career that I was doing well). I lived with these men who knew my earnings and had a massive problem about it. One I was due to marry and the other I owned a house with. Generally I’m having to massively downplay what I’ve achieved. The solicitor man used to work in my industry so I think he’s probably figured it out. My house doesn’t look like the type of place a single person lives in and it’s decorated very nicely, so I’m terrified of dating a man and eventually letting him in my home. Women are definitely autonomous. I was chatting with my friend last night and we were listing the things we need from a partner that we can’t get from ourselves or friends/family. We came up with just 2 points; They’re good at lifting heavy things like furniture They can feed the cat if I go away for the weekend I’m a high earner and I’ve struggled with being more successful than my previous partners. I’ve just sent this to my best friend. 23 years she’s been with the worst of all the men I’ve ever known. I think she’s finally seeing the light. She got their house valued yesterday and I’m helping her book an appointment with a solicitor. He doesn’t know any of this. So true. My ex earned around £200k and he was the worst person I’ve ever met, let alone lived with. When we would have arguments he would call his bank on loud speaker to hear his balance, but only if he knew I was able to hear too lol. He was so generous with his money on a day to day basis and yet in nearly 8 years he never once got me a birthday/xmas card or present. One of my new favourite hobbies is discussing radical feminist ideals with my very old fashioned dad, who’s too frightened to argue back with me as he knows I’m passionate about it. And he doesn’t have the answers. Although he did fret last week about my single status, he’s worried me and my sister are going to get loads of cats and stay single forever. We’re like ‘yes! My mates are good as gold. The men don’t really know the extent it’s got to, they’d tell him to leave me alone if I asked them. My two best girl friends would LOVE the opportunity to get involved and tell him off but instead we’re using it as a lesson of what men are really thinking. It’s become like a study on a fuck boi. Ladies, always ensure your fire alarm batteries are fully charged! My dad used to do fire drills with me and my sisters from when we could walk. He used to set them at 2am to ensure we could wake up and escape to the garden in the dark. It sounds intense but I’m kind of grateful that he cared so much. I moved into my house 18 months ago and I’ve been decorating room by room. Yesterday I realised that every room has a different pink theme. Im not a particular fan of pink but for some reason I’ve ended up with a baby pink and white bedroom, a hot pink hallway and a rose pink kitchen. I think it’s a sub conscious thing because I don’t ever want to share my house with a man again. And pink matches my little cats nose.

I’ve just googled that story and he got slated for saying that. He was called homophobic. So even when someone speaks out for women being assaulted, women get shoved to the back of the debate while everyone panders to the men’s hurt feelings. Poor Ariana Grande is being sexually assaulted left, right and centre and her bf is being shouted down for bringing it up. I feel like I’m living in clown world.

Great point. I’ve noticed similar groups popping up on fb and some of my friends have joined those. When one of my friends partners play up it’s as if I’ve become psychic and predict their next move or statement. Men are so predictable and basic in their bad behaviour. It wasn’t until I start seeing other women share their stories so openly that I realised men pretty much all follow the same MO. And all this time I thought it was me. I watched Cult yesterday and there’s a speech on it by the won…

I’m in London and British men win hands down on the funniest men. I’ve dated so many nationalities but none make me laugh like a Brit. The only problem is, they’re dusty and don’t take care of their appearance so they look old in their late 30s. That’s why I always end up dating Italians and French men with no sense of humour who apologise to me that they’re boring conversationalists. And this is why I’m single.

Haha. I’m really grateful that I love indie music, gorgeous skinny guys singing about loves lost and kaleidoscopes. Or ethereal female led dreamy music (looking at you Wolf Alice and Alvvays). I’ve never given it much thought but indie lyrics are actually really female positive. The women song about how amazing it feels to be loved that way and the men sing about how great it feels to even spend one day with the woman in their life.

I lost my virginity at 15 that way, I know I never wanted it but was kind of cajoled and bullied into it. I knew deep down that’s not how it was supposed to be. Ten years later I found out he and his twin brother were in prison for multiple rapes. I guess he was going to get his sex one way of another, he just didn’t have to put up with much of a fight off me.

I love this. I’m at the stage where if I get a notification on Hinge that ‘blah blah likes you’ I roll my eyes and think ‘of course he does, I’m an incredible beautiful women’. I love my new self esteem, just wish it didn’t take 38 years to find it. Oh. And I’m totally aware that there probably isn’t a man good enough for me who would be available so I just happily stay single with all the peace and quiet and cat cuddles.

I believe so. I’m pretty much allergic to condoms, I’m not sure if it’s the latex but I get severe thrush every time I use them. I’ve always been in long term relationships until a couple of years ago so this is a new problem to solve... I’ve just decided not to have sex and splashed out on two new vibrators instead (I got one of those sucky ones, oh my god).

Hey, I wrote below the little tests :) Men do put up a pretence but it's my job to cut through that. I work in recruitment so I've spent 20 years interviewing people, I've just adapted my skill set in that and I'm learning to listen to my gut instinct when it comes to dating. If my warning bells go off I either question more or drop and move on.

They're pretty small little things that have come from 3 years of online dating and lots of reading of this sub. I pay attention to every message at the beginning; are they asking me questions, are they answering my questions, are they carrying their load in the conversation? I'll add things to my conversation which should evoke emotions in them; doing something I'm really proud of, being sad about something, a cute little story. If I don't get the response I like I ignore them. I also drop thin…

Bingo! At best they can slide their hand across the table to hold it over dinner. I’ve been pinned in my bar seat multiple times by men who have made sure they’re sitting between me and the door. This wouldn’t happen in a restaurant. The waiters and waitresses keep a better eye on things.

I think it goes back to the initial screening. I’m quite fussy about who I accept dates from and I have a million little tests they don’t know about before I accept the date. I figure if I screen correctly 90 minutes of my time isn’t going to be too uncomfortable. But I’m yet to be in this situation yet so I’m intrigued by others answers. I’m in London so any restaurant I go to will be a couple of minutes from my transport home and it’s a very busy area so I never feel unsafe.

I definitely think there’s something in this. This guy I had a date with yesterday had a 13th birthday party for his dog last night. His housemate is a chef and they made a dog cake together. This may be a bit weird but I also find it adorable, to go to all that effort for your pet when they won’t even know the difference. I’m not sure what it says about someone’s character but I know I like it.

My psychologist did this with me and it’s worked perfectly! I used to pride myself on always being happy, chirpy, resilient, nothing brings me down etc. Even after I left an abusive relationship I never once cried. I’m the queen of disassociation. Well I reported it as I wanted it on file in case something happened in a future relationship (I've since found out he throttled his ex before me). We owned a house together and I was treading very carefully regarding leaving him because I didn't want him to get the house. I begged the police not to arrest him etc until I was out the house and they promised they wouldn't... they bashed on the door that Saturday while I was still playing nice. Thank fully I never answered the door, I could tell i…

My ex escalated to spitting on me. That was the straw that broke the camels back. I could take his punches but I couldn’t take the degradation of spitting at me. When I reported him to the police they told me that is was assault to spit at someone and wanted to arrest him for it. Interestingly he also used to throw water at me, in hindsight that was his first aggressive act towards me.

I’m starting to realise that when I was dating a couple of years ago I would actually be put off by this nice behaviour (I’m still trying to work out why). I wouldn’t go for dinner, thought it was too full on. If they messaged consistently I’d think they were too keen. I actually chose to be with these awful men over the HVM ones. Wtf was wrong with me?!? What a waste. I’m loving the 90 day rule! Never heard of that before.

There’s a hell of a lot of choice in London to be fair, I can only thank FDS for helping me wade through the typical awful ones. Also, if your dude is English (I’m guessing you’ve moved out of London) and he’s not paying for the date that’s even worse. I rarely date English men (last nights was Persian!) but they always pay in my age range. Europeans go Dutch more frequently. And thank you! X

I also went on a first date post break up last night. My ex was also immature, like going out with Peter Pan, so I’m really looking to meet a ‘grown up’ now. To put it into perspective he booked an incredible restaurant in a part of London I didn’t even know existed. And I’m the Londoner, he’s only lived here 4 years. He paid for the date, was charming throughout, and then drove me home which was a two hour round trip for him. When he dropped me at my house I opened my front door to discover my …

I went on my first date since finding FDS just last night. We covered a lot of these subjects. I felt like both of us had this mental tick list we were running through. It’s kinda nice knowing this early on what someone’s intentions are. I also feel less excited/anxious this morning than I usually would after a good first date. I feel grounded and looking forward to finding out more about him on Friday. I’m going to reread this post before he picks me up!

Good point. I don’t believe in marriage and have turned down two proposals in my lifetime.i said yes to the third and then left him six months before the wedding. I’m just not built for marriage and I earn too much money to risk a man getting his hands on it.

I vote get the cat (or dog etc). I’ve had mine since January and it’s the strangest thing because he’s made me less tolerant of men’s BS. I’ve already got my needy, clingy, loving, naughty, affectionate ball of love waiting at home for me, and his fur feels like velvet. There’s no man who feels like velvet to stroke. He takes up all my love and doting and I get to direct all my affection at him. Also, it would take a very special man to even get me out of the house at the moment. I’d rather just…

I’m still working on this but I started with baby steps. Going to a bar an hour before meeting friends or my ex for example. I LOVE travelling on my own and meeting a friend in an airport in a different country. London has quite a few airports so most of the time we would take different flights. He’s being ripped the shreds by our mutual friends 😂. At one point I almost felt sorry for him. But then I realised it’s because I’ve been conditioned to forgive men for their actions, regardless of the hurt caused.

I’ve known this man since I was 11, now 38. He didn’t like a comment I made on a post so he sent me a picture of his limp dick via messenger. I asked him to apologise, he didn’t, so I called out.

So funny. I just read a post on a dating sub, her dude doesn’t turn up, is unreliable, doesn’t return her calls. The responses: SoUnDs LiKe AdHd

You missed the part where I said he was in love with her for 7 years. They met when she was 16. He was 18. They got together when she was 22 and he was 25. Also, 16 isn’t a minor in the UK.

Every time I’m tempted to swipe I come here or one of FDS style FB pages. It’s enough of a reminder that right now I’d rather be alone. I’ve also gone on a get fit/healthy mind etc regime that’s filling up a lot of my down time.

I don’t have any of my own but... my lovely little niece who’s 23 has been with her bf now for a year. He’s been in love with her for 7 years but she friend zoned him right at the start. He remained an amazing friend, never mentioned his feelings again and quietly accepted his place in her life while she went out with a horrible boy. We’ve all loved him for years and could see the way he treated her and the way he looked at her and I’m delighted she finally saw the light. This man is only 26, he…

Hello ☺️ I’ve never met a man IRL who behaves like the men on DOT. And trust me, I’ve looked. They think the answer to everything is communicating. My gut instinct was never wrong and I was told multiple times that it was. The final straw was when one of them dug me out for saying that I didn’t know if I wanted children yet. There were some gems on there though who I do miss.

Good for you my queen! I recommend Dr Ramani on YT if you feel he’s a narc and it’s impacted you in anyway.

I disagree. I date in London so I date a mix of Brits, Europeans and South American’s. They’re all pretty stingy. Most generous stand outs was a French man and a posh English man. Weirdly, if I date a bloke from my area (north London) they won’t let me pay for a thing.

I’m in the UK and I’m 38. I’m interested to see the responses. I’ve only just become single and have been using the FDS to online date but so far not one man has reached my expectations. I’m attractive, no children, own house. I’m a catch. But these men keep throwing their emotional baggage at me. Eurgh. I loved OLD before but I was a pickmesha and would happily entertain BS. Can’t say I’m enjoying the experience now that my blinkers have been removed. I think I’ll just stay single. It’s nicer.

What’s your opinion on ‘please don’t match if you’re not going to message’ on Bumble profiles? My back goes up for some reason, I get all ‘don’t tell me what to do’ and don’t message.

I love this comment. I just split with a LVM and the feeling of being single and peaceful far outweighs the anxious feeling I’ve been carrying around for a year because I knew I was with the wrong person.

A flasher is someone who flashes his dick at women. Usually young girls. Down and alleyway, long coat. That kind of thing. We had a lot in the 90s for some reason. London is fantastic. I’ve lived and worked there my whole life and have never got bored of it. I miss it so much and can’t wait to see the culture and life return to my city. Let me know if you ever book flights, I’ll give you some tips 😚

I grew up in London and I remember being sexualised by men as a young girl. The amount of times I heard ‘can’t wait till you’re 16’. It’s only the past couple of years I’ve started really remembering (I’m 38 now) and it makes me feel sick and really uneasy. They never said these things in front of my dad so they must have known it was wrong at the time. My dad was an unusual dad though. An old man flashed my sister down an alley once and my dad found him and brought him back to the house to wait…

I’ve not seen this reported in the UK. This was my one main concern when we went into lockdown (having been in a previous abusive relationship). I reached out to several charities asking if I could volunteer on the phone lines but was told there was no spaces. This breaks my heart.

I remember my ex telling me a story about his friend and his gf. They had been together 7 years, he quit smoking, felt stressed, they had a big argument and she left him and moved out 😱😱 I had to really patiently explain that she’s been tired of his shit for months and has been asking him to change but stopped bothering recently because she realised nothing changes. The argument was just the last straw. My ex just gave me the shocked picachu face.

I had to explain to my ex why we have to use soap and how it works in breaking down dirt, grease etc. Also had to teach him how not to wash the dishes (with cold water and nothing else but his fingertips). He never ever smelt but when I realised after 9 months of dating him that he didn’t use soap I was horrified. He justified that he never smelt but I explained that it didn’t give him an excuse not to be hygienic. He’s 39.

This is fast becoming my favourite sub. I’ve ended things of a year with an emotionally unavailable man who wasn’t valuing me. He didn’t do anything majorly wrong but it just wasn’t enough. I’ve got no interest in dating sites. My plumber is sniffing around showing interest and despite me finding him attractive I feel like I’m standing back and watching how he behaves as opposed to being led by the excitement. So far he’s pulling all his mates together and getting jobs done in my house that are …

I’ve made significantly more than almost all my exes and it’s eroded into the relationship at some point. Then I spent 7 years with a man who earned double what I did and guess what? He didn’t like it that I earned so much money, he referred to it as my ‘fluffy little office job’. I’m a manager of a team in a sales environment. Hardly fluffy. And he was super jealous that I had access to a water cooler and office environment in general. It’s nuts.

The last time I was single before this time was over ten years ago. Why do so many men now have limp dicks?? It’s got to be porn, me and my libido are very sad.

Not that I’m defending but in the UK it’s completely normal for that lead time from engagement to wedding. Usually because venues are booked so far in advance and most want a summer wedding. Also, weddings here are expensive. Edit Ignore me. I missed the 3 year engagement bit 🤦🏼‍♀️

My ex said after I left him ‘i didn’t think you’d actually leave, I know you’d threatened it multiple times but I just didn’t think you’d actually do it’. Problem with this for these men is that the woman emotionally left the relationship a long time ago. By the time they’re willing to ‘change’ you’ve already moved on.

I used to frequent a dating sub and they compared FDS to the blue pill stuff. The mods wouldn’t let you mention FDS. It really annoyed me as I’ve never seen anything unjustifiable in here; they praise the good men, they raise women up, they point out the BS that goes on in most relationships. I wish I’d been able to read this advice in my 20s instead of taking warped advice off my mum and friends.

I was in an abusive relationship for 7 years (left 2.5 years ago). I can’t stop thinking about these poor people stuck in isolation with an abusive partner. I’ve volunteered for a number of domestic abuse helplines but so far have been turned down by all as they have too many volunteers right now. What a great reason to be rejected though.

He was always sporadic with his texting. Sometimes really full on and other times really distant; not answering specific questions, on and off ‘good morning/night’ messages etc. It prompted me to ask him several times if everything was ok and he’d reassure me immediately that we were fine and he’s just been busy - and he’d always explain what he’d been busy doing. And my cynical mind struggled to find holes in his stories. At one point I was convinced he was depressed because he’d go dark for a …

My bf is like this. It used to really upset me and make me anxious but now I just realise he’s a lovable, disorganised mess who doesn’t pay attention to his phone properly. I was able to let it go because he’s proven himself to be reliable and makes the effort to see me.
