How do you fill "the void" after divorce?Wow you sound a lot like me. Even down to activities. I used to watch TV and play video games a lot. I couldn't get back into them as I got older. I love being outside running, hiking and definitely playing golf. I'm also a former snowboarder and might get back into it this winter now that I am in great shape. You have a lot of great points. I'm almost 10 months post separation and highly suggest his advice. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/10/22 03:26 PM
What makes you remarry?I'm also one and done. I guess I shouldn't say never say never but I don't have any burning desire to get destroyed twice in a lifetime. She would have to make a lot more than me, have lots of properties and a large retirement fund that I get half off upon the second she gets bored and decides, time to walk away. I can completely see why women would be open to do it all over again based on percentage that make out it better than the ex husband. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/08/22 06:05 PM
Fellas, how long were you single til you got into a relationship again or started dating? I feel like I rushed it because I got into a relationship after being separated. And I feel like it’s affecting the relationship I’m in now cause I never got to healBeen more than 6 months separated. Not ready to date yet. In the first 3 months I was actually physically repulsed by women. Worked really hard on myself (didn't drink, ate right, worked out a lot), came to therapy with an open mind and I feel amazing. I saw a lot on here jump into a rebound without healing. Didn't want that as it almost always ends in disaster. It seems like society and we ourselves undervalue men but we do great things. We should be proud and focused on our purpose, not relati… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/08/22 02:12 AM
How do women think? just with emotions? You may be one of the few men that get cash and prizes in a divorce and for that I salute you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/08/22 01:41 AM
Never give up and never let anyone determine your self worth!Congrats! I am happy for you! | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/22 05:26 PM

Question about EXs familyThanks, I just think the minute my ex has someone new they are going to pretend I don't exist. I just want to leave it in the past. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/07/22 02:58 AM
Advice on how to be ok with the lonely quiet times? Two words; extreme ironing. You'll never be bored again. I'm kidding - hobbies, friends, 1 week benders, day trips, quite hikes. I have a dog too so that helps. He's also giant and fluffy. Gets a lot of attention from people young and old. Have had many great conversations with dog lovers. All the best! | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/07/22 02:55 AM
Just begging the process, then my son diesI haven't dealt with this but want to say I'm sorry for your loss. I have two boys and I truly sympathize with you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/07/22 02:35 AM
Just having a tough timeIt's completely understandable when you are first going through it. I felt so much shock and then nothing for the first month or so. It slowly turned into angry from the hurt and I immediately started to withdraw. I went to therapy right away and resisted the urge to have an agenda. It has been very helpful. I would recommend it for you as well. I also have been going to the gym a lot (joined one month after separation). Lost 43 lbs and working on myself. You can do that too, as others have sugg… | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/07/22 02:16 AM
Officially divorced today. We are men. We respond and respect directness. We also need a place to talk/vent/celebrate as lord knows nobody else gives a shit about us. Sometimes it just comes off as a lecture. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/07/22 03:28 AM
Well it happened to meI would just add get organized before moving on. A lot of times people say we're through and then take care of the details. Call lawyer Get separate bank account Check and inventory items you own Deliver divorce papers in beautifully wrapped package that is address from the other guy ;) That last one was a joke. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/07/22 10:41 PM

Who else has no desire to date anymore?I am still early through this process (almost 6 months since separation) but I am almost 95% sure I'm done. I have 2 kids to look after and will be my priority for more than a decade. I lost so much, I'm not exactly in a hurry to run out there and lose more. I don't trust many people, especially women. I can rebuild myself once, but that's all I will be able to manage. If I ended up in this situation again, I wouldn't be around. So I'll leave all the ladies for someone else to fuck over. I haven… | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/22 02:31 AM
Rant….This is a relationship of convenience...for your wife. She gets a caretaker for the kids while she gets the freedom to explore who she is with some other dude or dudes in the future. As soon as this is not longer convenient for her, she will find a reason why it is best for you and the kids not to be together in the same place. Get a lawyer, figure out your options and move forward. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/06/22 04:18 PM
Do you believe in a soulmate or that a happy lifelong marriage is possible these days? Not for the younger generations. Too many options and therefore temptations for both sides. If things get tough, they give up, if people lose a job, they give up, if people get sick, they bounce, if someone comes along that fulfills one more check box, they leave. My neighbor tossed out her boyfriend last week, guy just finished rebuilding her whole front gardens and was taking care of her. She called the cops and they told him he had to leave after returning from working all day. I know there i… | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/06/22 04:10 PM
Is There Any Real Way To Marry the Right One?I've seen this a lot. I also advocate to put yourself first as per my post. Self reflect and become a better person. That said, if you have a great marriage going and suddenly you get sick or lose your job and your partner immediately leaves you. You didn't do anything do anything that warrants that. You can't self improve if you didn't intentionally do something harmful to the marriage. The best thing you can do is check out from marriage and relationships in general for a long time. I'm going … | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/06/22 09:53 PM
Finally divorcing my wife after she cheated on me with my best friend . I am 39MThat is a disaster in the making. Just being straight with you. What happened to you is messed up and you didn't deserve it. Your asking for trouble going down that path. Get solid legal advice and family support before jumping into the dirty swamp that is the dating market these days. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/06/22 07:05 PM

Thank youI agree with your points. I will offer as my therapist advises that you are allowed to feel sorry for your self but you still need to pick yourself back up after a bit. You can't stay in that frame of mind. I know myself, I can by default move to feeling nothing for anything as a survival mechanism but over time things come back harder. Have a good one. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/22 04:41 PM
I finally had sex with someone new!Seems like a reasonable thing to celebrate. I would advise caution jumping into a relationship. Your probably not ready. I personally have only been separated since January, not divorced yet and thought of evening dating a women, let alone sex is unpalatable. It hasn't been that long but all I am focused on is; hitting the gym, eating right, being with my kids, seeing friends, going to therapy and heavily working on my finances. Best of luck. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/22 12:38 PM
