My ex and I are amicable. Some minor issues but we are still communicating and working together for the kids.

However I saw the ex's family while dropping something off today. They were happy to see me and we're all wanting to catch up with me. I kept my responses short and deflected compliments. I only stayed about 5-10 mins.

I'm not trying to be rude but I made it clear to my ex we're not friends. We're co-parents. I talked to her siblings and told them already to not include me in any family plans and it's best for all sides to move on.

As I was leaving other family members asked me to come drop by sometime and see them. I deflected my response as I didn't want to be rude in front of my kids. They asked me again and I agreed, only because of my kids.

My ex's family are good people but in my eyes we are no longer family. I believe in boundaries and if we didn't have kids I would have left town and never seen them again.

Am I being too harsh with my boundaries? I know these people aren't the cause of the split but I believe in closing that chapter and moving on to the next stage.
