No, the product is the mother and she should have all the final say in it. A pregnancy without complications/risk is almost if not completely impossible. And on top of that, going through it all to at the end just give away that what cost so much to have. Tbh, the most important thing is the amount of things that can and will go wrong with the pregnancy, and most are things that last for life. I'll list a few: -Her body will change, no going back. -She'll literally have to push a whole baby out …

I understand you're overall pissed and not just about this. I only disagree with the fact that everyone should be allowed to train how they like, I mean dress code wise. I hope the place your telling me also has a women dress code. Over all, I think the girls who want to dress like that should go ahead, same with those wearing the baggiest of clothes and equally with guys, as long as privates are covered it shouldn't be a problem. And ofc acknowledge that wearing certain clothing will get you lo…

Well I guess it depends and I probably have a different outfit in mind. Some girls do be feeling comfier wearing shorts and crop tops as it doesn't get in the way. While some others (yeah probably many) do it indeed cause they want ALL the attention, even if they call you creep they still want your attention. I don't think this is an all girls do cause I've seen it going on in women's only gyms and they still wear really tight short clothes and then put on something else when leaving. Truly the …

Tho gym's aren't supposed to be "men spaces"... Don't get me wrong I believe a men only gym and a women only gym it's fabulous, that way everyone has their safe space, ofc not getting rid of regular non-binary gyms. It would definitely give most ppl a safe space to work out in, and that way no one should be feelings at risk.

Yeez that makes no sense at all... In my country girls are indeed allowed to skip school but it's usually not taken as a rest days (at least to us girls it isn't), we make it a protest day to show empathy to those who have been murdered or kidnapped (that unfortunately happens a little way too often and that's why we do it). Sometimes it's a whole project, were in the usual sits of the girls we set "missing" posters with their pictures. It really shouldn't be "so you feel what they've felt", tha…

I agree with the empathy gap I saw in another comment. I believe the issue comes all the way down to how we are raised, the fact that we, women are completely allowed to cry and (mostly) it isn't weaponized for us but we get taught men don't cry and shouldn't cry (bs). So the simple lack of empathy is a generalized society makes that activism for men won't be an actual thing cause we are not taught that men need it, while women get a fairly big amount of support groups for example, even if these…

I mean genuinely for years I thought it meant being and having the same, and then it was like "no, it's giving each what they need/deserve". And on paper it's such an easy concept. Like rights and law should just be the exact same, right? And then in other topics make the appropriate accomodations for everyone (male/female, neurodivergent/neurotypical, disabled, etc).... But I guess it's like a utopia, the concept itself it's easy to understand (at least for some) but putting in it actually out …

And this is so very common too. I mean, I was raised in a family of absent men, anywhere you looked. My father, grandfather, step-grandfather, aunt's partners... That just weren't there, so almost everything being done by women was the thing going on in my family... Either way, I do want my man looking out for me, but that doesn't make me less than a real woman. Money wise, it's not even realistic for only the men to work, and having 2 incomes is way better and safer. And even if I personally li…

In my country, unfortunately, salary breach happens to be very real buuut, I don't think every job can fall under that umbrella like IT for example. If we focus on IT related jobs it's definitely something to do with how needed it is currently. Also this can be easily sorted checking if it's allowed or not to discuss salaries in your place of work. Whether salary breach does unfortunately exist, we cannot just say EVERY job is overpowered with this. And again an easy fix to know if it's happenin…

Just in case it matters I'm F20 This is literally the way I feel about children tbh. And about marriage I'd love to, my bf would love to... one day. I think currently there's so much to talk and know about before choosing if marriage is the right option, and the thing I've noticed is ppl don't talk for some reason. The number of factors to think about is so big. And some of these are huge deal breakers in relationships, like pre-nup for example. I believe marriage is something beautiful, but it'…

But... HOW'S THAT SEXIST??? Be fr, pumpkin spice IS BASIC. I don't care who gets it, it's considered a basic drink, period. I get it, I really like it (if you ever have the chance to buy it in a place where it's more pumpkin less sugar, trust me it's amazing). It also falls onto the unbelievable amount of ppl who buys this and other drinks constantly just because of the aesthetics and the looks and they don't even like it.

Damn u have a point... That would be in general very inconvenient for everyone. Buuuut maybe in a "private park" like getting a designated place for it or setting it in just an area of a big park?

I'll just give my point from my perspective and what I know. Liberal feminism. In general to fight for equality of rights. The big win in history, getting to vote, but... This is settled in white ground, we're talking that this women were white, rich and higher class. Unfortunately this doesn't englobe what other countries, nor women of color and even less getting into other sexualities. Currently, this breaks in more branches but it's the general place to start. Radical feminism The point wasn'…

Well, first I must say that we all have internalized misoginia misogyny, every single person included them. Now, in reality the slogan of feminism is actually the same... Just interpreted differently. Tho you can actually find hateful articles about men even in the "beginnings" of it. Yes, as a general, feminism is about being equal and get what we need. I do agree feminist are not fighting for men to get what they need cause it's a by women for women type of thing. What's not correct is reachin…

I mean as long as there's also men-only times, sure. Tbh this idea seems kinda cool if we expand it, pet owners-only, parents and kids-only... Idk it sounds good. Just having a singular of women-only times, def no.

Yes. I believe both male and female privilege exist. I'll explain myself. It's up to the context, for example in certain type of jobs it'd be easier for a male part to be hired than a female one even if both have the same studies and have proven equal capacities for the job. Just an example but there's several other areas where something similar could happen. Same as women have an upper hand in other situation, like the ones explained in the post, like being an aggressor and not being held accou…

Well first doing that it's just ridiculous. Why not an app to just assign equally the tasks that need to be done..? Tbh I don't understand how/why couples don't just talk about something like that, chores management. Its not even a deep conversation. Yeah, I understand, women have been entitled to do all the housework by themselves which is completely inconvenient in today's society as many women also have a job. But isn't it easier to just talk with your bf/husband about it and assign the chore…

As an extra, I am aware that places that do NOT have an actual pay gap are for example the US and Canada
/r/MensRights19/05/23 01:04 AM

Unfortunately there are indeed countries in the world that go through that pay gap as it's supposed to be (same job, different gender). But, I agree that many ppl think it's same place of work, different job, type of thing. (Not gonna get in medical workforce terms, cause at least in my country, all the medical staff is underpaid compared to the work done) For example, I believe it's wrong to just set down "male teachers" and "female teachers" as they teach different things or schooling levels. …

Update: In case anyone was interested or curious. I had a long conversation about it with my boyfriend, we both went on why we are or might be afraid of marriage. After going through how we could get over them or what would help us to reassure each other. His last (and final, he said) statement is that he's afraid yes as it's a big step in life, but he thinks it's worth it. Thank you for all the advices and recommendations.

I will say it's mean to wish for us not to marry. Yes I know and understand how in the law I have the upper hand unfortunately. And that's exactly how I got here, because I read posts here, telling why men are not getting married or why they shouldn't, in some including personal experiences in eaither post or comments. Now to address the examples you set. 1. Yeah, I've heard those rapes happening, not even in marriages but even more commonly in bf/gf relationships. We're both big on consent, to …

You make it seem like I just decided one day, I'll marry this guy and he has no choice... I'm asking what can I do to help, I'm aware he knows it. I'm not asking him to do anything, the fact that we'd like to marry came up in a regular conversation for both of us. I really don't know why u trynna make it seem like he has no say or part in the decision, it is really a two ways thing.

I really don't understand why I get angry/aggressive comments like this if all I asked was how to give my bf the reassurance he might need on the topic. Many have been very useful, "propose a prenup" "insist on getting paternity tests in all your children" etc. I don't see where I'm supposed to be complaining, I asked for advice period. If anything I told my boyfriend about it, he said he understands why I would be afraid of him getting second thoughts on it.
/r/MensRights06/05/23 12:36 PM

Well I be starting to tell it's not like we have many assets, and I'm the one who suggested the prenup, an asshole move tbh, child free is what's in the equation.

I'm entitled to have my opinions and fears as my boyfriend is entitled to have his opinions and fears. He literally told me he understands I'm scared of him being afraid. Like seriously dude, wtf
/r/MensRights06/05/23 07:13 AM

Yeah I understand. I personally grew up in an opposite context, where I saw abusive marriages where the abuser was the man. Now I've gotten to know that many men go through what the women around me went through and it's as unacceptable. Tbh, because of his context and mine, I guess we're both afraid in similar ways, unfortunately seems that the law wouldn't favor him at all and that just adds to the worry.

I guess for me it's partially tradition, for me it's not just "signing a paper" there's more depth to it than just a law procedure

Man... I don't think you got the freaking point. I'm asking for ways to REASSURE the love of my life that if we get married things like that won't happen, that he doesn't have to be afraid and that I'm down for setting a prenup or anything that is needed. I think I'm entitled to be scared about him having said fears, and in no place I'm saying he CAN'T have them.

Literally why?
/r/MensRights06/05/23 04:50 AM

I personally see marriage as a union, something stronger than just dating. Plus what I see is both ways benefits in other stuff, like medical care just to set an example.

We definitely gonna wait. Maybe getting engaged in 3 years and married in 5 years from now. Definitely not looking for a rights now marriage

Definitely planning getting a prenup
/r/MensRights06/05/23 01:59 AM

We touched lightly the topic of the prenup and both agreed it's the best thing to do. We're not really up to having children so that shouldn't be an issue as we both plan to get permanent methods. Tho if kids were the case that would be a yes.
/r/MensRights06/05/23 01:59 AM

Oh yeah! We don't have that where I'm from, only child support. And I agree, I don't see why keep giving the ex any money. Unless there's a prenup talking about some kind of compensation and it applies (have seen a few about cheating) there shouldn't be any reason for it.
/r/MensRights06/05/23 01:56 AM

Unfortunately he lived something like it with his parents so he's very much aware despite being young. Fortunately I mentioned once a prenup (about something completely different) and he mention the regular prenup and we both agreed it's the best option. Obviously thinking about a separation is not something anyone wants to talk about but we thought it's better to have a way to insure we both would be alright if anything happens
/r/MensRights06/05/23 01:38 AM

No prob, tho I must say I'm not 100% informed and all. From my own perspective there's no place for separatism in feminism, as trans woman shouldn't be cast out of the movement. And in general there has to be consideration of all the women and the different places and social contexts they all come from. Black women, Asian women, Mideastern women, working women, Latina women... To resume, stop making feminism white and privileged, cause unfortunately not everyone has the access or the life to be …

Exactly my thoughts!! Keep doing so, please. Honestly I've seen that unfortunately feminism is very looked down by men because of this, and it's nice to know that you're trying to bring awareness of the fact that is not actually bad, but ppl inside it is making it look bad.
/r/MensRights26/04/23 05:40 AM
2

YES! In my city, maybe about 2 years ago, many girls realized how bad is what they call (themselves) radical feminism. As they are both racist and transphobic in their ideals. So yeah, I would really put down "wannabe feminist" as a term. Unfortunately the ones causing the problems get more views.
/r/MensRights26/04/23 05:28 AM
2

Personally I guess it really depends. For me, I don't like to call myself a feminist since the amount of info out there about the topic is too much, and calling myself something I don't know in depth is uncomfortable for my person. Now, unfortunately, I believe now a days there's a lot of ppl calling themselves feminists without actually getting into the topic, the research and the amount of information you need to understand what feminism is supposed to stand for

Look I don't know where all this aggressive comes from, I obviously missed a ton of information. And excuse me for being worried enough and caring so much to a point where I came here have help from actual men instead of trying to solve it the way I know (cause I'm aware the way I know is not going to work). 1. I said it that way cause it's what HE has express to me, it's what I've learned from him. 2. If I refuse to let him shut me out it's because I do care, and because he has express he wants…

I agree. We've talked about it before. If he knows it's because I've felt comfortable telling him about myself and my past, and I've tried to make clear that if he wants to share something with me I'm there for him to listen and support him, and if he doesn't ever want to he's no required to so and I'm still gonna be there for him.

So far in my relationship, I've never disclosed anything that was not a happy thing to my friends. We are actually not to argue, so there's not even to say anything to friends, but if there was I think it's always better to fix it and ask your partner if you can talk about it with your friends... I understand that unfortunately that doesn't really happen much tho

Part 1 • I'm certain as we've discussed sexual trauma on both sides already. And it did not changed my perspective or attraction to them. Part 2 • No, no matter on what conditions, I wouldn't disclose any of that information. Even on the worst of breakups and looking for revenge, there's never an excuse to use this information. Part 3 •As in part 1, we've gone through it. To me the fact that we're long distance actually helps cause you can't just have sex to fix everything without actually fixin…

Thank you for the advice. Yeah, I know for sure he got taught wrong, and indeed, as he told me people has walked out of his life due to disclosing trauma and didn't share with me due to fear I'd do the same (I didn't push it, he told me when he felt ready) and I must say I don't find any reason on what he said for anyone to leave... So I shall guess they were just shitty people.

Thank you. I really wanna be that safe space for him as he is a safe space for me. I'm really trying to work on ways and getting informed in what ways can I create this safe space for him where he knows he'll be protected and supported.

Part 1 • The manly part or the changing perspective part, I know for sure it's not an issue for me... I've never expected him to be manly or anything alike. I think I do love him for him, as we are in a long distance relationship and unfortunately contact it's not easy. In all honesty, as my context it's like that, I'm indeed paranoid about all men, even if I know them there's unfortunately always that doubt about if they have done or would do something bad to another girl/s... I guess it's not about personal feelings but public actions and words, as I'm paranoid around men I have no reason to hate or talk shit about all of them. At the end I have a boyfriend for whom I worry about and his mental and emotional health and wellbeing, therefore I'm interested in m…

Yeah, kinda figured, my bf lives in Canada and I'm from latin America. At first I didn't understand why he wasn't all onboard with feminist opinions (since I knew his own thoughts on several matters and they matched) so I chose to ask him and found out we're on very very different contexts. As a good example we are on the fight since we have over 10 women missing per day over here and how the government is doing nothing.
/r/MensRights03/04/23 08:15 PM

I found out the context of were you live or you are from it's actually very important. I don't consider myself a feminist since there's too much information to get there (in my perspective, wouldn't be comfortable calling myself something I don't know extensively). My bf has given me a whole different view on it, as how he sees feminism where he's from. But I have also explained him how where I live it's really about women, and the awfulness of being one here.
