While Driscoll has cumulatively spent eight days worrying and talking about Page, he, in turn, has this to say about her; “she’s pretty chill I guess.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 So true it hurts. Never again.

Yep, it's disgusting. The term describes woman with a high "body count" and as a result large outer labia. Madonna/wh*re complex bullshit. Taken from the misogynist handbook for anatomy. Blegh.

I have the same. A lot of it has to do with my menstrual cycle, which influences the bioavailability of dopamine (and serotonin and others).

Your husband is an abusive piece of shit and you are in no way responsible for this. This is NOT pickmeisha territory, you are a victim of abuse and you and your child deserve a life where you are comfortable, safe and taken care of. I have no practical advise but please be careful and do get out ASAP.

I have to agree, he's not actually being reprimanded in any way here. Like "you can't say that... out loud!" Edit: at least bobby looked done immediately

Your ex sounds like an asshole and nobody deserves to be treated that way. The culture here collectively rationalizes that way in terms of spending, so to me it made sense that he would do so by extension and pushing the spending habits you originally mentioned on his Dutch background seems fairly accurate. Obviously making you sleep on the couch in favor of his cats is absolutely insane and I am happy you are no longer with him. I'm not applauding him or denying your experience at all; sorry if…

$1000 isn't actually a lot to spend on building a PC, you get a mid-range build at best. Buying a nice water bowl for his cat is just... nice lol. I have always spoiled my dog with nice things even when I felt like I couldn't afford eating out and whatnot. And I also built myself a PC in a similar price range just to game, but it ended up helping me get the career I have now. A lot of Dutch people will have a nice house/nice stuff but a frugal lifestyle. Not saying your ex was great or someone l…

Yes! I came to this realization not long ago... I was just inspired, not in love. being in a situationship or relationship with men like that was always the opposite of inspiring... I'd ended up just helping lift them further up while being used as a stepping stone

I'm also highly confused. We need to vet men for months to know they're HVM, but sure being in a "wholesome meme" is equivalent I guess lol

Before FDS I never really considered the "waiting" to be of value. Literally guys would say they didn't think I would be so prudish as to not sleep with them until like the 5th "hangout" session.. and even for me I'd get nervous after the second time seeing each other feeling like I at least had to show some interest in escalating sexually (eventually) because else they'd think I wasn't up for anything. dating culture is so fucked

I think it's quite clear your respective sex drives don't match, and if you think he'd leave you if you would go by the rule of enthusiastic consent.. well honestly so be it. I understand it's trauma related but you can't just rationalize that away, as you have clearly tried and failed.

UGH the guy that triggered the biggest pickmeisha energy in me would literally constantly take care of his ex while we were dating... I communicated many times why I did not appreciate it because honestly it was taking away from his mental health, time, money and energy. I didn't even mention myself 🤡 Of course now that he leveled up he has a girlfriend and he cut off his ex once and for all. I was with him twice and both times the ex was part of our situationship.

Thanks! Not specifically, no. I have developed a sweet tooth while I previously didn't have one, so part of it will be opting for less sugary snacks. For me a healthy diet usually means I eat regularly, keep sugar to a minimum, and incorporate more fish/veggies/fruits in my diet. That's when I feel healthiest. I have a long history with eating disorders so I don't diet or restrict in any way that could escalate. Fixing my diet currently means starting to cook again. I used to make a combination …

Beyond landing a job in my field before even having graduated, I have started an art series on inspiring women throughout history. I'm excited. I work out 2-3x a week, I walk in the forest a few times a week to breathe and clear my mind too. I'd like to be better with my diet and housekeeping, but I'm happy about the rest. So I guess diet might be next!

Ha, I literally told guys I was talking to that I was done chasing dopamine of meeting new people and forming new relationships as it has been distracting me from my work and uni. It's been a fun, wild ride but I'm no longer craving it. I realized it was all the same and in the end I have little to show. At least most of the past year was relatively harmless, maybe I needed it to understand that relatively harmless as opposed to actively harmful, does not automatically mean It's worthwhile. Btw,…

I have hope that he'll grow to be better, I think high schools currently are pretty healthy in the Netherlands. Anti bullying/racism, pro lgbtq etc. Although liberal feminism is what is currently the culture in terms of anti sexism, I hope that changes too.

Ellen Page herself commented on how looking back that movie was really reenforcing sexist ideas, where the men were bumbling fun loving guys who just couldn't catch a break and the women seemed controlling and drab when really they were in tough situations

Mid twenties, with a lot of options to date. This year I've actually dated a few nice men but there was just nothing about them that was especially interesting. Okay, handsome, hobbies, good career, healthy friendships - that's awesome and attractive. But they clearly made very little room for independent thought in their lives and they figured that I could be their teacher in that regard. A woman to complete them and be the "feminine" energy their lives lack. Get them more in touch with their f…

Yep after the last guy I know for sure that guys who express "relief" because you can "take a joke" are going to disrespect you. It's boundary testing.

No, but they seem in their early twenties and i am too, you grow up with being able to film everything and while you might play it up a little bit for the camera or at least you're aware of it being there, it's more like an extension of yourself rather than an entire act. You have to consciously turn off your awareness that you're being filmed and deliberately focus on who's filming, it seemed like he was trying to do that. I take all of these and all of tiktok with kilograms of salt, though.

Ahahaha this is me! Oh my goodness. I can make a looong list of things that will "impress" me that only do so because the bar is in hell. Trying to keep an eye on this and especially done with complimenting men for doing the bare minimum.

That's the thing. I think men browse a sub like that because they want their sexist beliefs to be confirmed. Takes less effort than to listen to women demanding men to challenge their world views and change their behavior.

This is upsetting and people being happy to believe this stuff is dangerous and motivates men to keep being terrible to women thinking that women are ultimately happier that way :/

I agree, if a woman would do that for a guy on here we'd tell her she's heading in the wrong direction and it's unhealthy behavior - and very pickmeisha.

Sometimes I check my phone at work but I don't respond unless it's something of immediate concern. I don't know, maybe I'm alone in this but I think expecting people you've just met to text you back when they're working is a bit much. Then again me and my friends have a rule that we only text back if we feel like we have the energy and sometimes that takes a while.

Me too! We're even around the same age (I'm 24). Having FDS in my pocket is helping me with the no contact and really cementing what I already know deep down. Trust me, I've made plenty of huge mistakes where strength was the least appropriate adjective for my character. Read my last comment and shudder. Raised by narcs, used and abused by narcs, but I'm no longer playing victim in the narcissist playbook. We can do thisss

A guy I used to be fwb with literally told me in my face that he thought less of me after we had sex, and couldn't take women he slept with seriously. I kept sleeping with him and he completely destroyed any shred of confidence I had while I tried desperately to prove to him that I could level with him 🤡🤡🤡 A few years later we met again and the same thing happened. Only this time I confronted him, he said I was right about everything, cut me off, worked on himself, found a girlfriend and they're…

I have been in this situation more often than not, having told a guy explicitly I did not want to hook up, probably removing their hands a couple of times but then going along eventually because they just kept trying. I sincerely believe that 80% of the guys who did this had no idea about enthusiastic consent being a precursor to sex in the first place, and learned that sex was something that a guy "worked" for. I also only have more recently been able to embrace exactly what consent looks like …

I don't remember exactly what happened with this guy. I think we matched on tinder, he was really handsome but an "enlightened" soft boi type. The first conversation was pretty funny, I wasn't very interested after it though. He listed on his profile that he enjoyed intellectual and philosophical conversations (yeah whatever dude) and I quizzed him on this. Asking what he considers "intellectual" enough for him to entertain. I kid you not, he responded with "you know, Einstein and stuff". I thou…

I don't think he did it knowingly, and that's the scary part. I don't feel attracted to men who play games and are proud of it, but I think a lot of men make a game out of your boundaries and they legitimately don't even know that that's what they're doing. But you are right in that it is probably best if I am not alone around men anymore. It seems like that is the only defense since I clearly need to guard my boundaries a lot better yet I probably won't be able to in the near future. I have had…

Thank you so much for your response. I feel like there's warmth in your words that I really benefited from. I am committed to protecting myself and taking care of myself, and I need to frame abstaining from immediate reward as something I do out of care of myself. I think I tend to act like an angry narc parent to their child, and say "you can't" "you shouldnt" "how stupid are you?!" etc to myself when I want something that I know might have some negative long term consequences, and then I feel …

I know I need to work on that. I knew that before I met him, too. I keep thinking that I'll be strong but I get so confused. I have ADHD too and it's very difficult for me to prioritize and NOT chase after dopamine. This is why I made clear at the start that I needed to focus on school and work. I have a tendency to just chase new people and learn everything I can about them because they're new and seem different, even if I might get disinterested in a week or two (it's not like I get too close …

I agree that time has helped me get over a lot of stuff, I think I'm torturing myself as this was essentially the outcome I expected, but I allowed him to try and prove me wrong. I feel like I do this a lot, because I don't trust my own judgement and while I don't entertain people who have obvious red flags, I will trust people that seem smarter and "more rational" than myself. That is usually very few people, but I'm learning that for those few I need to be just as strict as for more obvious LV…

Haven't work a bra for years. I have a small C cup. I get stares and an occasional "I wish I could do that" from other women. YOU CAN. Be the change you want to see. I've had plenty of men specifically ask me why I don't wear a bra. "Well why don't you?". They don't need to. I don't either.
