Andrea Dworkin was just so prophetic. The main response to her pornography complaints was always “C’mon. Pornography just isn’t all the prolific to have that big of an effect.” Flash forward to the internet.

Um in basically all my relationships I made him text whenever he goes out without me. Not because of lack of trust. Because I have anxiety about him being out alone. I know it’s not an dangerous for men, but as a woman it makes me nervous. Yeah he’s an adult and not obligated but it’s a courtesy. The last guy I dated would just send me an emoji every hour or so. It’s seriously not a big ask and it is huge dealbreaker to me. I also have the Crime Junkie “If I go missing” check list on my fridge, …

Maybe if it’s a family ring there’s a reason…but then it can get split up with the rest of the assets in the divorce. Essentially, if he really wants it back, he can pay for it.

Can we apply this to their friends too? I dated this guy once and his friend said something pretty horrible to me. I legitimately don’t think the friend realized why what he said was that horrible. The friend did apologize to me when I pointed it out. Later, the guy I was dating wanted to hang out with his friends again. I said I wasn’t going if horrible guy was there. The guy I was dating couldn’t understand what the issue was because his friend had apologized. We got into a huge argument over …

There are definitely places where high school isn’t free. Most free education stops at 14 in Central America. But the part that seems fake to me is that the first half seems so appreciative and then the few words take a huge turn and insults him. It’s like a different person wrote the last 6 words.

Years ago, I dated this guy for maybe 4 months. He complained to me that we didn’t see each other enough. I had just started a new job, I was insanely busy at work (literally running down the halls at some points in the day!) and I straight up told him that seeing him 1-2 times a week was all the availability I had. He left me a voicemail at like 9:45pm on a Sunday. I have to be up really early for work, so I was already in bed asleep. The next day I was at work by 7am. I really didn’t think he …

What I find most ridiculous is that you see tons of men complain about how terrible this stereotype is for men. I don’t think it’s really good for men, but it’s presented as if it’s some sort of attempt to disparage men and lift women up.

I did step aerobics for P.E. credit in college because it was at a convenient time for me. This was well past step aerobics being a thing even at the time. It was so much fun. I loved every minute of it. Because of the music, I always found myself jumping onto the step. It’s an insanely good workout.

I lived with a man for 10 years in the US without marriage and I’m honestly super glad we didn’t get married. He out earned me at the beginning but I earned much more at the end. I have a pension and bought a house. By myself. When we broke up, he literally just left and my life was pretty much the same. While I definitely think the FDS points on marriage are valid, it’s really something that depends on the situation. There are times when marriage isn’t the best option especially if there aren’t…

It bothers me the hate she gets for stating what she wants. She’s ridiculed for being upfront about her expectations. But like it’s totally okay for men to just hide the fact that they only want sex. Also, I 100% guarantee she’s getting the dates she wants.

As someone who has been the other woman in this scenario, if you’re questioning who to believe it’s 100% the other woman. He is a KNOWN LIAR. Why would you think he’s lying to you and telling the other woman the truth? The most likely scenario is that HE IS STILL LYING TO BOTH OF YOU. He doesn’t want to know whether you two will be a couple. He wants to know if you’ll still date him despite his other girlfriend.

My mom had her name changed automatically. She spent 20+ years trying to fix it after she divorced my dad. It’s still not completely fixed.

Very interesting. It’s basically the most unloving thing to say. I’ve seen similar behavior from men saying something is “her problem.” As in, she created it, so let her deal with it. But the “her problem” is getting called out more and more because it’s a terrible thing to say. You should care about your partner’s problems. It’s like switching to a “choice” instead of a “problem,” men can pretend somehow that they are being respectful? Either way, it’s just a way to be dismissive.

The only male friends I have are married to my female friends. ✌️ Actually one of them is the most high value guy I’ve ever met. He literally the example I think of when I think in my mind of a high value man. Of course, one thing that makes him so high value is that he’s seriously in love with his wife.

I have a sister who makes more than 10x my income and I make $150k. We take trips together often and she pays for my plane tickets and the hotels. Because she wants to go first class and stay at fancy places and knows I cannot afford even 50/50. This is what people who like each other do. It laughable that anyone expects 50/50 when the incomes aren’t close.

Prenups aren’t all bad. Sometimes they help protect wives. HOWEVER The way he did this by springing it on her TWO WEEKS before the wedding screams GET THE EFF OUT to me. He’s not giving any chance to review and have input. This timing is 100% purposeful. He wants her to have no choice but to sign his version. I’d sign “Not a chance in Hell” on the signature line and see if he noticed.

I lived across the hall from a cop once and got the same treatment. He would always open his door as I was walking up to my door. He was staking me out and listening for me. I did not have a regular schedule. I think he must have just been sitting by his door listening all the time. I started sneaking silently down the hallway, opening my door so carefully…and then slamming it shut and turning on my shower so I could pretend I didn’t hear his knocks. The whole reason I started avoiding him is be…

Most companies charge you for a big cleaning at the beginning and then maintenance cleaners are cheaper. Because no one’s house is clean when they start. Hiring a house cleaner is paying for free time and peace of mind. It can be your first gift to yourself after years of no presents.

Can I just say how much I hate going to the grocery store on days like this. And the week before Christmas and Thanksgiving. It’s packed with guys who don’t seem to have a clue where anything is and it takes me twice as long to shop.

I think the worst one of all time was when NYPD Blue paired Dennis Franz with that young hot blonde woman. Like…I have nothing against Dennis Franz and know almost nothing about him. I’m all for having casts where not everyone is a smoke show. But no woman with the unattractiveness level of Dennis Franz would be allowed on TV at all. And then they pair him with an extremely hot woman half his age? It’s clear this stuff is all controlled by men because it’s so unwatchable.

I’m dying. I always think this about the relationship between my 2 dogs. My absolute favorite thing he does is when she can’t find her frisbee. He is obsessed with fetching a ball, and she loves the frisbee. If she can’t seem to find where her frisbee went, he stops playing and helps her look! He will carry his ball around until he finds the frisbee and then he barks (with ball in his mouth, so it’s more like a grunt) and motions with his snout to the frisbee until she grabs it. Only then will h…

God I hate “Karen.” Sometimes it fits, but did we really need another way to be dismissive of women? I commented on an online recipe about one of the ingredients being quite obscure and would likely necessitate going to a nursery to buy a plant. I was essentially told “Go away Karen.” I’m not allowed to comment with a true issue about a recipe?? Woman has opinion = SHHHH KAREN

My aunt does not cook at all, and her husband is an amazing cook. I stayed with them for a while. He gets off work earlier than she does, so they have developed this routine where when she’s driving home from work, she calls him and asks if he’s started dinner. If he hasn’t, she drives home and picks him up and they go out to dinner. It just cracks me up because when you have a reverse situation when the husband cooks and not the wife, the wife doesn’t just do nothing. She doesn’t think “Well he…

I was talking to a male friend of mine who is a generally good guy, and we got on the subject of strippers. He had just gotten back from a bachelor party in Las Vegas. He said the whole trip was good except for one night the best man insisted they go to a strip club. He said it was most uncomfortable thing ever and he can’t imagine the appeal of strippers and other sex work etc because a dude is essentially paying a woman to pay attention to him and it made him depressed to be that guy. That’s really the most insidious part of this guy. He absolutely 100% does not want to communicate. They’ve communicated about the finically situation. He wants her to get a job to solve it. She wants to downsize the house and live of the extra money. CLEARLY she heard him if she made that suggestion. There is no “right answer” here. These are options and they have different preferences. Communication would involve coming to a compromise and there are probably a thousand other ways to resolve th…

Also I think it’s very telling that he says she was “upset.” She doesn’t seem upset at all. She just tells him what her standards are. And the sub it’s posted on does not fit at all. She’s being choosey but in no way is she begging.

Once I was questioning a woman in a court case and I asked her if her boyfriend ever hit her. She said, “Yeah he slaps me, but only opened handed.” She said it with this attitude like “Why are you asking me this question, b*tch?” I legitimately just stood still for about 45 seconds before continuing. Luckily the (male) judge had pretty much the same reaction I did.

I have a very similar story. I didn’t really date at all until after I graduated law school at 24. Lost my virginity at 25 to some random guy. I was just busy doing my own stuff and focusing on me! This is something my mom taught me. She ingrained in me that I was going to get my degree and good career and that was going to be how it was going to happen and everything else was secondary. It was really awkward when people would discuss dating/sex and just had nothing to say. But I just kept my mo…

Whenever a guy says “innocent until proven guilty” I always just say “Mike Tyson.” Because he’s a convicted rapist and he still has tons of defenders saying he’s innocent and he gets movies and television shows like it’s nothing. The truth is, the “proven guilty” part doesn’t matter to them when it comes to men. They set up system where it’s extraordinarily difficult to be proven guilty in the first place. They aren’t looking for guilt to be proven. They are looking to make it impossible to cons…

I love this on so many levels. Obviously poking fun at wage-gap deniers, but also seems to be taking a dig at the stereotypes that doctor/engineer/CEO and the common practice of labeling a job title by gender when a woman happens to hold to role.

That’s literally the scenario that voluntary manslaughter was invented for. Murder, but but the guy was really mad. If you ever get a chance, watch the movie Adam’s Rib with Katherine Hepburn. They did a gender switch and the wife shoots her husband (though I think he lived...). It’s pretty astonishing because it supposed to be a pretty feminist movie but it just shows how ridiculously low the standards for were at the time.

Wow this is insane. To be honest, I came here because I kept reading stuff about how “toxic”’FDS is. I wanted to check it out ... just like in the past I’ve looks at incels and TRP. And it just wasn’t? I definitely think the idea that “you teach people how to treat you” is true. Basically this whole sub is about women teaching men how they want to be treated. And cutting off those who won’t. It’s like they want there to be a female equivalent of TRP or incels so they can be “fair” by excluding b…

This reminds me of that study from years ago where “scientists” concluded that the g-spot doesn’t exist by asking women whether they had one. I always thought we should do a similar study and just go around asking people whether they have a pancreas. I’ve done a completely unscientific study on exactly one woman, and that’s how I know the g-spot exists. Similarly, I’m old enough that when I first started dating, porn was not as prolific as it is now. And there is most definitely a difference....…
