It's nice to see it worded so well. It is indeed true.

I don't think it's a matter of things being different in America. I'm not in America, I've lived in 2 European countries so far (born in one of them), and the amount of male "friends" I had who turned out to want more or straight up told me some variation of "I would if you'd let me" was honestly saddening. At one point, I used to have a group of friends that included 5 men, and they all told me that they would have sex with me, and expected me to receive that as a compliment, when it was just d…

This is why I come here. Even though I'm not dating as I'm engaged to a HVM, I love to see women helping other women learn how to recognise and listen to their intuition. Too often, we stiffle and ignore it because everybody acts like it's NoT RaTiOnaL. But our intuition is our subconscious picking up on red flags before our conscious mind does, and our emotions, feelings and aches are the way it rings alarm bells so we know to pay attention/be alert because something is wrong.

I really just want to start a #VanillaIsValid movement. And for that, I won't even bat an eye when people bring up sex and accuse me of being vanilla, I'm just gonna look them dead in the eyes and say, "Yes." 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Also, why do they care so much? You're not having sex with me (and never will), so chill out.

Men will literally learn more in depth about these things only for that reason Isn't it quite sad how much effort and energy they'll invest into that instead of redirecting the same into bettering themselves?

I used to love rom-coms then I sort of stopped watching them, and I couldn't figure out why, but I still wouldn't go back to watching them. I realised recently that it's because they're all manipulative, and their message is pretty much always the same: "give this guy a chance, he isn't a bad person, he's just clueless/misguided/awkward/[insert pathetic excuse here] and that's why he treats you poorly, but deep down he loves you". 🤡🤮

This absolutely disgusting and making me furious. This man will eventually graduate to rapist/sexual assaulter. All the signs are there.

highly functioning alcoholic and habitual marijuana user (multiple times daily). He hid these qualities from me until after we’d moved in together. This was my ex too. This areshole had the gall to tell me I already knew when I pointed out that he smoked every day! How?? We saw each other 2-3 times a week before moving in, and he only occasionally smokes around/with me. He gaslit me so much and it took leaving him to realise the full extent of it.

Insomnia. It went away after I broke up with my ex, but it took a long while for my anxiety around sleeping to lessen (it's not even completely gone yet 😢).

In my experience, Scandi men are better than Slavic men because their culture is more progressive. It's not perfect mind you, but still better. My fiancé is Scandinavian and works with a lot of Eastern European men and he hates it.

Yeah, they act as though they don't watch porn while in a relationship... Do they think we're stupid? Also, porn is NOT needed to masturbate, but they've fried their brains on it already, so they've become physically unable to masturbate without.

It is music to their ears to learn that a woman is insecure/doesn’t know their own value. That's exactly why the medias (film industry, music industry etc) peddle the bullshit idea that "she's beautiful and she doesn't know it". As if we were blind. 🙄

You're looking for a man, not someone you have to teach to be decent. This, so much. We're not trying to be mothers to overgrown children, but partners to actual, decent adults who don't need us to do the most basic things they should have learnt already. Not exactly too much to ask.

Exactly. If he is asking for reimbursement, that means he viewed paying for the date as paying for sex you should have given him later.

You have made the right decision. He was using you so that he always had someone standing by while he found someone "better". I have children of both sexes so definitely have concerns about what my own attitudes and habits may portray to them and their expectations That's what bothers me too, and the reason I'm working towards feeling comfortable with my leg hair too at the moment. I don't have children yet, but I'm trying to get to that point before I have them. One step at a time! 🙌🏽

It's definitely not easy. I don't shave my public hair (never have except for a couple of times when I was in my late teens to see what it would look like - I hated it), but I used to shave my legs and armpits. I no longer shave my armpits, but it took me a while to become comfortable wearing sleeveless tops in public and not feel embarrassed. I'm working on getting to that point of comfort with my hair legs too, but I know it's also going to take a while. I think it takes each of us deciding to…

They then proceeded to tell me that I must be “boring in bed and only perform vanilla sex acts”. Vanilla sex is only boring if you have issues. Well adjusted, psychologically healthy people get off on vanilla sex, because they don't have a messed up brain (and vanilla sex is great!). It's exactly like when people brag about being able to ingest large quantities of alcohol before being drunk. Why would you be proud of that? You're damaging your body and your mind, there's no pride in that.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/02/21 01:40 PM

I could have died in the hands of this "nice guy", and even then the tables would have turned and I would have been blamed for it in our society. "Why didn't she leave earlier, she should have known better, women always go for the chads that just beat them up!" There are example of this all the time on Reddit.

Yeah, almost like it's a chore. To be fair, it seems like a lot of men are slaves to their sex drive, it's like they don't realise that they can refocus that energy elsewhere.

It's not possible because he won't really be your friend. He'll always have ulterior motives for everything he does when it comes to you. And someone will get hurt (maybe even both of you).

I used to watch porn until I realised that it killed my imagination. How can you have good sex if your imagination is blank? I'm glad I stopped, and I'm glad I'm with a man who came to the same conclusion as me.

I think they know it deep down, but they are jealous, Nailed it. It is jealousy. They wish women fell at their feet, and fawned over them, like in those old Linx/Axe commercials. It bothers them that things are the other way around and that we can happily go without sex with them.

When I was in my late teens, celebrating Valentine's day if I remember correctly. I got him a really nice chess set, as I knew he played a lot with his dad, and it was their bonding time. He got me see-through lingerie... It was obviously a gift for himself, the fucking prick. I wish I'd said something then and there, but I'm proud of myself for at least calling him out on it a few weeks later. They use this word to placate us, they don't even understand what it means to communicate (in healthy ways) because they don't do it themselves. One of them read it somewhere in pop "psychology" magazine for women and they just all ran with it (and use it against us).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/02/21 11:35 AM

That comes from those men who don't see women as people. When you hear them say that we're a different species, they actually mean it. It's disgusting.

I'm pretty sure everyone into BDSM, woman or man, has been abused or in an abusive situation(s). I have some knowledge of psychology (I have a Bachelor's degree), and although I don't pretend to know everything, based on what I've learnt, I'd say it's just not possible to have such fantasies unless something traumatic has happened.

I'm honesty baffled that anyone would think such a fetish (and any violent fetish for that matter) is ok and does not mean that the individual's psyche and mental health has some serious issues that need addressing. I know nowadays, it's all about "not kink-shaming", but acknowledging that someone's kink shows a problem is not kink-shaming. It's even more shocking that this person is supposedly a licensed therapist (I wonder if she actually has a psychology degree, because if she does, it's a wo…

Me too. It do despair sometimes. Yes, we've come far, but we still have so much further to go, and we won't live to see it. And it hurts to realise that. I try not to dwell on that too much, but there are days where it just can't be helped. I really, really hope things will change. /r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/02/21 01:44 PM

I completely agree. I will never understand not keeping your own account. Open a shared account for common bills if you want, but why would you want all your money to go into a joint account, as if you were no longer an individual? People seem to think they become one when they marry, and that boggles my mind. Yes, you should be a team for it to be a successful relationship, but that doesn't mean you as an individual should disappear.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/02/21 01:01 PM

Yeah, at least he could have the decency not to spread his misery to others. Also he says that nothing has worked to change how is brain is now wired, but there's no mention of therapy or introspective work into what caused him to get to this point. So he hasn't even tried everything yet his post sounds like he has given up. Edit: a word

I know, right?!? Some people complain that there are always comments on those subs to dump the person. That's because all these relationships are shit!!! It's so so rare to find posts where the relationship is not dysfunctional and shouldn't be thrown in the bin, so of course there will always be comments saying "dump them"!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/02/21 10:46 AM

Oh yeah, and so many were telling her to help him understand and grow compassion and empathy. 🙄 So now it's her job to make him into a better person? Then he'll say she's nagging him.... There's no winning.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/02/21 10:36 AM

The problem is that we, as societies, are taught not to listen to women. And we as women unfortunately grow up applying this to ourselves. She knows it's not ok, she knows it make her feel terrible, yet she'll stay with him unless and until she's reached a point of no return (or he gets bored and moves on to his next prey), all because she won't listen to herself. We really need to teach little girls to listen to and believe themselves, and not to second guess.

😬 I'm suuure she's no longer feeling insecure after this classic movs of manipulation he pulled on her. No niggling feelings, no discomfort at the pit of her stomach nor tightening of her throat as she typing this with a slightly-too-bright smile. I hope she wakes up sooner than later.

Ladies, value your time more than they do. No more explanations, paragraphs, insults, or comebacks. Block and delete. Yes, this, so much! When I hate-read all those conversations' screenshots where the woman keeps replying, even after telling him she's done, it bothers me to no end. Why are you trying to reason with someone whose thought process doesn't work like that of a well-adjusted, sound-of-mind person?? I discovered this sub last week, throught a post just like the ones you refer to. And I'm really not proud of my reaction. It was a screenshot of a post about having men pay for everything (the rent and bills), and i said that I hope those dating strategies wouldn't work because no one deserves to be with someone who expects them to pay for everything. I went to the post and a couple of other posts, read the comments and said they were weird and condescending. People were so quick to agree and s…
