Put checks on University costs. They can charge anything they want.

This is the only sub on Reddit that could post this and get a reasonable reaction. That this is a preposterous proposition.

This. Universities churn out worthless degrees and count their money. And they can charge anything they want AND don’t pay taxes. It’s ridiculous. Start with the universities if we want to fix this system.

That barely matters. My ex blew up the family for a guy far less attractive than me. New and shiny baubles.

These were the guys that prevented a thermonuclear explosion (in the 2-4 megaton range) if the pipes weren’t drained. The miners dug under the slab to put in a cooling unit. Which turned out to not be necessary because the core didn’t melt thru the concrete slab. But it could have....they just couldn’t be sure at the time.

My recollection is that she figures out why it exploded (because it wasn’t theoretically possible as the reactor type was understood, which led to the delays). And that if there was water in the cooling pipes, there would be a thermonuclear explosion. The man in the series figures out by way of the radiation readings that the core must have been compromised and is telling everyone to evacuate and to get on the problem.

That’s crazy. Most of us don’t have the luxury to offshore the assets. I wonder how many would take that opportunity knowing the costs. In this case, it’s pretty clear since he has adult children.

It’s this. Universities cry poverty, don’t pay taxes, get subsidized by the government. Meanwhile Harvard has a $39.2 billion endowment. The University of Texas (a public institution) has a $23 billion endowment. It’s not the lenders, or the Feds, or even the students that are the problem. It’s the institutions of higher learning.

I have no problem with the state not wanting to create impoverished people, even temporarily, after a divorce. That is a bad situation. But the WHY matters. What is the reason for the divorce and can it be proven to the preponderance of evidence? It starts with no-fault divorce but with the same burdens disproportionately on one side.

When your life has no meaning or purpose, you look for something to fill that gaping hole in the soul. Like a broken window on your house. A married man has one motivation and goal in life. Minimize hassle. Minimize complaints. It’s easier just to agree and end the conversation. If you’re young, picture yourself now. Would you ever do this? Just agree to shut someone up? Probably not. But if you think that would never be you, get married and try it. I dated an anesthesiologist for a few months that was low 40's. She dug me and I thought she was nice enough. She got divorced from her previous husband and had a couple of kids. What became clear was she wanted to get married again ASAP. We didn't discuss getting married or anything like that, to be fair. She made more than 5 times the money I did (and I do well), so the pragmatist in me pictures my life of leisure. But the pragmatist in me also knew that she would eventually resent that she ea…

I can't blame millennials. They were crafted to be the way they are. They were taught to express their feelings and that their feelings were valid. BUT, they take valid to mean the world should care about or order itself according to their feelings...which it doesn't and won't. But that lesson gets learned pretty quickly by everyone save the most dense. IMO.

There is a force in the western world that pushes people to spend and live in relation to their perceived means. The more you make the more you spend. It's not just traditionalists. Find your ideal lifestyle, and make it a goal to get there. Then stop. Even if you start making a ton more. Don't fall into the trap that makes you believe you need everything right away. Building wealth takes time. I know this really didn't answer you're question, but I think it's an important lesson.

A couple of add ons. If you have to be a w-2 employee, you can put as many dependents as you want on your W-4. That will lower the amount of income tax that is withheld (not SS or Medicare). You can avoid SS by becoming an ordained minister (there are several other requirements). On 1099, make sure you set up a corporation so that you are exempt from back up withholding. Mazel.

Socialists, probably. Who now masquerade as "liberals". The problem is that, on the surface, socialism seems like a great idea. We all get everything. There are no losers. We are all winners. Of course, you have to ignore the fact that resources are finite, socialism is contrary to human nature, and has been proven to not work on any large scale. Married almost 10. Honestly the ache I felt was always my ego, and not her. She was and is awful, and when I realized that I was able to put it to bed. But my pride was irrevocably wounded, so that will always be there. After a couple of years and a ton of other women (red-pill fueled), it's barely noticeable. You control your thoughts, so you just need to find a tactic to push out negativity. Hobbies can do it. Friends can do it. Some strange can do it.

What did I say was justified? And I was talking about the first quote. BUT, the stoning thing is a property rights thing. A man's daughter was considered his property that had value in the form of a dowry. If she was not a virgin, it was considered theft. The context of the times matters. I'm not saying it was right, but it was the way it was.

This is a great description of the neuroses of these people and how their inability to be happy with themselves makes it impossible to be happy with anyone. Your life with this woman would be 24-hour misery. I don't get any schadenfreude from the fact that she will hit the wall and her world will crumble...her world is already made of paper machè held together with dental floss. When are the men who make these memes going to learn that you can't listen to what a woman says? They aren't men. When men speak, there is a purpose. Women sometimes talk just to talk. There isn't a purpose. 99% of the trouble men have with women is that they try to apply a man's approach to communication to something a woman says. It doesn't translate.

It's not double think. In the recent past, we've protected Kuwait, the Balkans, and various African nations. We are a big part of why Israel still exists. In a society where women act like men and men act like women, it's not surprising that people are having problems. The natural order of things is millions of years old and tested rigorously.

She's a prostitute on a long-term contract. That's it. The amount of time involved is the only difference in this "arrangement". This whore has a list of services offered. This guy bought the deluxe package, which included the title "boyfriend". She probably had a star next to it on her pricing sheet that said BEST VALUE.

I always try to remember a concept I use in raising my children that may apply here. Don't avoid short-term pain at the expense of long-term gain. It will suck in the short-term dealing with family strife and a divorce, but avoiding that will cost him his long-term peace, sanity, and quite possibly, his life. Stress kills. I'm not a proponent of walking away from a marriage willy-nilly. But perhaps he can draw a line in the proverbial sand. At the very least.

I've always thought that passage meant teaching/leading a church. Which gave rise to priests vs nuns. IMO, everything in the Bible has to be read through the lens of the time it was written, considered from that perspective, and then reapplied to today. Literalism leads to fanaticism, which is never good.

I sorta agree with some of the posters at the bottom. This is a warning to women, it's just not as direct as it would be if it were written for men. The word disillusioned is being taken as pejorative, when it just means we have had the fantasy removed.

I wonder if I were to set up a corporation, like Mac290, LLC, where I was the sole managing member. Then if I wanted to get married (lulz), she wouldn't be marrying me, but my LLC. Then my assets are protected by the corporate veil. All that would be at risk are the assets I gave to the LLC.

I personally find the idea of sex dolls or an AI sex robot off-putting. But it's more of a personal preference. Having said that, there is some next level hamstering happening over there. "This can't happen because women are objectified! This will make them more objectified." Sweetheart...you are either objectified or not. There aren't degrees. And as long as men are biologically programmed to base their attraction on how a woman looks, objectification is going to happen.

There's this idea that human sexuality should be free to express itself in any way. It's none of anybody's business...yada, yada, yada. But unchecked, it rapidly degrades a society to its very core. In the US, there is a long-standing principle that most decisions should be made at the state level. An overly powerful, centralized government is something to be feared. That's been eroded in the past 50 years or so, but that principle is fundamentally what the USA was founded on.

SJWs eat their own. Or grow out of it once they have life experience. They really only can exist en masse under a blanket of protection (college). A few will hang on, but you'll notice they are rarely what you'd call "successful people". Successful people and companies that react to the SJW agendas are really just protecting their brand, which anyone with a modicum of critical thinking skill can see right through. Even if they do pander to SJWs, they can still fail...see Pepsi. SJWs eat their ow…

It's more of a problem with the momentum of feminism...it has built up such steam that it has now over-corrected. Now that equality is not an issue, society wants men to act like women and women to act like men. It's no surprise that people feel uncomfortable in that dynamic, but can't recognize why.

Anyone logical can see that these are not black and white issues, but are firmly in gray. It will all depend on your perspective. The reasons for GYOW are as varied as there are members. Great job. One thing. Depending on what you said, that's not a hostile work environment. Hostile work environment is another term for harassment. Yelling at someone once, or even calling them names is not a hostile work environment. Being hostile to someone doesn't make it so. But that probably didn'…

Find a way to amuse yourself subtly at his expense when he talks to you. A couple of things I might try: 1. Repeat everything he says back to him in the form of a question. Him: "I'm going to Germany" You: "You're going to Germany?" Him: "Yes" You: "Yes?" Him: "Yes. I said yes." You: "You said yes?" ---or--- Answer everything with the same phrase. Accounting equation. Assets = Liabilities + Equity. A family has always been a liability to a man. The difference was that was offset by the assets that were brought by taking on that liability. If your assets are greater than your liabilities, you have equity. Equity, in this case, would be happiness and peace. The liability has always been the same. What changed was the asset you received.

What? Logic doesn't teach someone to share and be generous. To not take whatever you want in that moment from someone else. To not strike others when they take from you. I do. You can't take it with you. I suspect that many younger MGTOWs will find there is something missing in their lives at some point. There is something fulfilling (imo) to a man in providing. But instead of providing luxury to someone who doesn't appreciate it, do some good in the world. Whether it's volunteering or giving money or finding your own way to give someone else a hand up. Not a hand out.

As much as atheists hate it, it is religion that keeps people in line. The power higher than you or any person on earth that will sit in judgment upon your death. A society that pulls away from God's law has already started to decline. Unfortunately, laws written and enforced by man don't create morals, which is what is in deficit.

Some guys need to go through the fire to believe it's hot. I had to learn the hard way myself. I wouldn't recommend it, but it might be the only way for you. Exactly. But that's what some guys want. I would never advise a client to do that, as it's my job to concentrate on their financial well-being. I'd also tell a client not to buy a boat or a high-end sports car for the same reasons. Depreciating assets with heavy up-front investment, little to no resale or residual value, and high storage and maintenance costs.

It's pride. It's always wounded pride that stings the worst and causes men to lash out. Pride is a bastard because it can drive you to do great things and also push you to do regrettable things. That's why the advice to guys after a broken relationship is to channel that power into something positive. It needs an outlet, and too many let it be a negative one.

MGTOW has stages just like any other life change. It always bothers me when people say it's not a process. It most certainly is. The first stage is overcoming the animal instincts in the interest of survival. That takes time. Some guys post toxic shit because they are still struggling in the early stages. There needs to be an enemy, and that enemy is women. Then they finally realize that women act as their nature commands, and they learn that the issue is our society now rewards the bad behavior…

/r/MGTOW12/04/17 03:17 PM

You're forgetting the part of the narrative that sells it...something along the lines of he wasn't loving or giving her enough attention. Women believe that is grounds for half, and men think "I would give her more attention so this won't happen to me".

It's not about equal. The power is 100% distributed. There isn't extra power laying around. All that could happen is taking power away from men to "give" to women. But once you hit equilibrium, the there is too much momentum to stop it on a dime.

I've said this before. The difference between those two subs is this one is a celebration of freedom (with some helpful anecdotes and stories lest you forget why you chose the life) and the other is for wallowing in misery. It's the nurturing nature. But as soon as he's fixed, she will be off to another one to fix. They get addicted to the good feelings of being helpful and mistake that for love. That's my poor-man's psychologist opinion (because god knows I'd never get that worthless degree).

You don't feel good about it because you are an escort. If you have no problem telling your parents, friends, and future children that you are/were an escort, then by all means. It's amazing that people (men and women) expect there to be no moral consequences to their actions...when they know upfront they are wrong. That voice in your head that is telling you not to do something...you should listen to it.

Never ever commingle assets, where possible. And live by a strict budget that is a little below your means. Whether you are married or not. Most problems in life are a result of money, so do your best to limit the potential for those problems. Especially if you are going to take on someone who will only sap your resources (wife, children).

It's a double standard that we all just have to accept. It makes me irrationally angry when people can't square out their beliefs. It doesn't take much thought really. Have your internal emotional reaction, pause, and think about it before speaking. If the subject was reversed, what would I think?

Once you remove the shame, it opens the game. Men don't want women that live like men. That used to be shameful behavior. Now it isn't. Any man that says he wants to marry some gal that has been passed around is lying because he is virtue signaling, white knighting, or incredibly thirsty. Interestingly enough, men that act like women are still shamed.
/r/MGTOW07/04/17 05:26 PM

It is simple, but that's on the man. You absolutely have to control your scene. Never ask. Tell. And you can't be afraid of the consequences. That's where it falls apart for most.

There needs to be more differentiation between MGTOW and miserable incel subs. They are two very different things. One is a choice, the other is, well, involuntary. Edit: if you are MGTOW because women were never interested, consider yourself lucky. You won't have to deal with it. I just don't think this is the sub to complain about it (whereas incel subs are).

Hang in brother. You are getting closer to the light. Not to get all preachy, but truly the only hope we have is to get back to our Judeo-Christian roots. All the appropriate mechanisms were in place to keep society in line...it's not surprising that once people started abandoning the morality of religion that governments started to follow. When I say get back to the roots, I don't mean the blatant hypocrisy we've seen in the last few decades. I mean true, God fearing men and women.

Thanks for the explanation. I was thinking of it in terms of business. You have a store-front that produces $10k of profit a month. You can borrow money that costs you $5k month in principal and another $1k in interest to open a second store front. Assuming demand and all other things are equal, you should make $10k from that location. It makes sense to open another store now, and grab the net $4k of profit until you pay off the loan (it then becomes $10k). Later, if interest rates moved up, tha…

You don't even have to be a minimalist. Just live slightly below your means. If you can't buy it in cash (that is excess above your normal expenses), then don't buy it. That includes cars. Until that moment they decide to use those vice-like jaws and get on your neck. And now you're dead. Killed by your best friend.

It's funny. Society has had rules and standards for how people should act and conduct themselves for millennia. But we apparently just got smart now and figured we should change everything. And we wonder why it isn't working. There's a tendency to think people who lived before us were backward or stupid. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Peace and stasis in your life. Working hard to earn money to do things you love is balance. Ejecting people who cause you trouble or stress you gives you peace. For most men (we have expected to work hard for our whole lives; we never had illusions that someone would take care of us), what steals our peace are the women in our lives. I wonder if it has always been that way or if it's a modern phenomenon.

It isn't that easy to be common law married. It isn't some automatic thing that happens after a certain amount of time. It takes cohabitation and presenting yourself to the world in some way as married (joint tax return, taking last names, etc.). Even so, a common law marriage doesn't entitle anyone to half your assets. That is only if you are legally married. Otherwise it is split based on whose name is on the asset. If you are both on it, then it gets split between you. But if a house is in yo…

I always disliked school, but it has value. The value isn't just learning a skill for work. It's to make you a well rounded individual who hears many perspectives and learns to think for oneself. Also, college shows that you can see something through from start or finish (acceptance to graduation). School wasn't designed to teach you about meditation or diet. That is supposed to be what your parents teach you. So I guess what I'm saying is that the intentions of a formal education system are goo…

See the reply from u/eyesofthedragon. Women disproportionately utilize medical services, and inversely, disproportionately pay for them. You have to understand it's the choices women make as to what they prioritize that create the imbalances that third wave feminism screeches about. The facts don't lie. Whether it's the "wage gap" or the number of women enrolled in college. If you subscribe to modern day feminism, you choose to deliberately ignore evidence. Where I find most feminist "facts" to …

Thank you. I don't understand why the last eight years of Obama didn't solve all the issues women faced. And it's always things he is going to do, and feminists with their crystal ball can see into the future. Here's a piece of news that I know from working in healthcare. Doctors HATE Medicaid. Cripple your pride. You know who has successful relationships with men? Women who understand men beyond what they read in Cosmo and feminists tell them. I would argue that men have to go their own way because of the politics of the last 100 years. I'd like to think that there is a way to get back to the value system in place before that did not reward hypergamy and divorce rape. So in my estimation, this both is and should be political.

I don't think it could be explained any better. The only point I would add is that there may be no intention in any of it. Which is why this analysis offends so many women. Every woman thinks they wouldn't do this, until they do. They have been sold a fairy tale, and when that fairy tale doesn't unfold exactly as they expect, you (the man) will take the brunt of that punishment. Either immediately (in a divorce) or in a life filled with nagging and complaining. It's not your fault, but yours is …

I wonder why they are usually beautiful and charming. That would imply they learn that they are those things, and then develop the disorder. But it would be more logical that they have the disorder, but can only use it if they are aesthetically pleasing.

Listen. No one can control your happiness except you and your expectations. Another person can never "make you happy" if you weren't content before. If your happiness level is zero, and you get with someone who is a ten, the product of those numbers is still zero.

This is marriage. As a man, if you fail at anything ever, in her eyes, you're done. Stop giving her tingles? Done. Stop making enough money? Done. Fall ill? Done. Your efforts to change don't matter. It's over.

What the hell is this HIV that cannot be given to someone else? I...don't think I'm trusting that. Of course, I was in high school and college in the 90's, so I may have an irrational fear of that disease.

I'm a Christian, so I take the Old Testament and books from before Christ with a grain of salt. They are effectively history books or Jewish law books. The fundamental lesson of Christ was living with grace. And I think we'd all agree that grace is nothing more than a facade for most. So don't fall for it.

Is this the blowback from the bakery not wanting to do a gay wedding? If I own a business, I'm motivated to make money. If I choose not to sell my goods or services for any reason, I shouldn't be compelled to. If I do this enough, I'll go out of business. That's the trade off. But nobody is entitled to my time, efforts, or property. If I don't want to make a cake shaped like a vagina for a lesbian wedding, I'm not going to do it.

I posted this one the other day. Adam is in the Garden of Eden. God calls down to Adam. "Adam. I want you to have a companion. She will fulfill your earthly desires. She will be nurturing, caring, and supportive. She will never nag you or make you feel less than. She will be a true partner in every sense of the word." Adam says "That sounds great Lord!" God says "It will only cost you one of your arms and one of your legs." Adam responds "Oh. Well what can I get for a rib?"

You nailed it. But if you don't go for all three you are a failure. Meanwhile, your FB feed is filled with the carefully curated lives of women who are doing all three and seem happy (they aren't). So you've gotta match that. If you try all three, you're a ticking time bomb.

I don't particularly enjoy this brand of schadenfreude, but this is the only way to ever convince women that this is a dead end. It will never result in happiness for them. I'm all for free will and doing what you want, but life isn't a fairy tale that will always have a happy ending. The patterns laid out by our biology are there for a reason...no amount of "progressive" thinking or propaganda can change that.

This is what happens at 30. A woman's personality can change completely. Even if you think you've found a unicorn, it's suddenly rabid and stomping and goring you all of a sudden. Such risk for a questionable benefit.

Learn about balance sheets. The basic formula for a balance sheet is: Assets = Liabilities + Equity Ideally, you want your liabilities to be as low as possible and your equity to be as high as possible to equal your assets. All marriage does is add liabilities.

You will always be a useful tool, until you rust or break can't do what you're "supposed to". Or worse, until a shinier tool comes along. Or it could be nothing to do with your looks or usefulness...she just gets bored. In exchange you get some dubious benefits. And then what happens? You continue to be her property with no benefit at all. You'll still pull her plow.

Some of us are political MGTOW. Meaning we are walking away from the institutions which use us up and spit us out. For instance, marriage. I spend time here to warn younger men about the dangerous game they are playing. It's Russian roulette with 5 in the cylinder. If you must have a woman companion, my only suggestion is to wait until you are older. Believe me, it is much easier to not be a slave to sex as you age. If you are not a slave to sex, it's much more difficult for a woman to put a yoke on you. She's mad at you? Ok. Cool. That means she will leave me alone. You tell her "no", and she gets mad at you? Ok. Cool. Talk to me when you calm down. You are just in a much better position to control your scene. Of course, if you're married, she can still t…

Take the state out of marriages. Marriage is a religious institution. If an ordained practitioner of religion says you're married, you're married. And that's it. Common law marriage should also be abolished. There's no reason that the state should be able to 1) tax me to get married (marriage license) 2) dictate the terms of the end of my marriage. I'm in an LTR with a woman who is as close to a unicorn as you'll find (but still a great demonstration of AWALT). She wants to marry, as we are both…

Time is the only thing that will heal it. In the meantime, you have to find things to occupy your brain. Find some hobbies and do things. If you're not doing something else, your mind will wander back to that place. If that happens, breathe and focus, push those thoughts out. Identify things that make you happy and have those thoughts ready to go. Shift to those thoughts, and change whatever activity you're doing at that time.

You can disagree with it all you want. Doesn't make it less true. They are a product of what they see. And what they see the most is how their parents act. Teenagers often try to go the opposite way because they are teenagers. But mostly drop the rebelliousness soon after. There are exceptions, of course. Source: have kids. See how they are. See how their friends are.

You raise a boy to act like how you think a man should act. You raise a girl how you think a woman should act. It's conceptually simple, but challenging to do. At the end of the day, most kids will end up as mirror images of their parents. So the biggest challenge is carrying yourself in a manner that squares with your beliefs. If you're a little bitch boy, your son will grow up to be a little bitch boy.
