I am glad I don’t come up against this often. I don’t say ‘child free’ because my existence isn’t defined by whether I produce a child. I say ‘I don’t have children and I don’t intend to’. I have had a doctor ask about a hysterectomy after I mentioned this because of iron deficiency issues, but that operation has its own issues. After a bit of a struggle, I got the contraception that works for me in terms of the iron deficiency.

I read you live in the UK. The sexual health clinic there, particularly in London are great. There was one I went to in Southwark (I think) and the doctors and nurses were very good. It was scared but I felt free and open in talking to them. <3 NHS!!

I find this hard advice to take (mostly because I am terrible at transgressing the small boundaries but very much respect the ones that are a big deals and my own boundaries align with that mindset). Any suggestions from people in a similar boat to me?

Nice work on taking care of you! There is a bit of to-and-fro about how we talk about ‘the wall’ in this thread, and fear of aging. I’m in the camp of being inspired by women like Sharon Stone. Exercise and eating well keeps me mentally strong and physically strong. Do it for the right reasons! X

I didn’t mention sex appeal. I said I wanted to be healthy. And yes the Wall is something drummed up by the patriarchy, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t talk about it, and present counter arguments.

Your argument is definitely looking at this through a different lens to OPs. Personally, I see this post as inspiring. I says to me: don’t shy away from taking pride in your appearance after 30. I don’t eat well, exercise and wear nice clothes for men, I do it for myself. I don’t want to be a decrepit 60 year old with health issues and dosed up with pills to keep my heart pumping.

Elle McPherson is my inspiration. Successful business woman. Goddess. Mother. I think she is 57. Looking like her as I get is one of my life goals! So far, so good.

OP, if your post was more about enjoying the activity, I would be on-board. Instead it seems more like climbing gyms are a great place to meet guys because more male do it than females. The fact you are putting so much effort into defending this because your peers are pointing out issues might be a sign that you haven’t framed the post in the most considered way.

Sorry OP, but that I think you might have rose-tinted glasses on here. As someone how has climbed for a while, there are many downsides. Like: - yes I have met lots of guys, but I frequent the gym a lot! If I date someone and it doesn’t work, I will see them around a lot too. And that is awkward. - Lots of dudes who climb will not put effort into dating you because they see you at the gym anyway. -Also having some random dude check out my bum instead of belaying me properly is NOT my idea of fun…

As you grow old you realise what actually matters to you. For some people, for whatever reason it doesn’t change from school. For others, they develop further life experiences, new interests so the ‘cute’ doesn’t cut it anymore or what they consider cute might change. For both women and men, as they grow up, they might have a drive for family, a career, stability, adventure, (etc). High school is a point in time and won’t necessarily determine your attractiveness for the rest of your life.

Thanks for sharing. It is crazy how these little things add up. I have regularly made art with partners, like sketching, photography, mini-movies, and painting. I would have never imagined any of those partners not encouraging me or telling me that they liked what I did. But it would have been a kick in the guts if they told me what what I did was awful, ultimately art is expression and it’s beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Keep doing your thing, sister. Hopefully this dude continues to sup…

This in a country where there has been an alleged rape in parliamentary offices, the first law officer is alleged to have raped someone many years ago, a High Court Justice has alleged sexually harassed his associates...the list continues. Australia has a terrible culture of misogyny and the treatment of women. Sadly, this will be seen by many women and men in Australia as very romantic!!

So, I found this list: https://madamenoire.com/1017986/reader-submission-50-bare-minimum-dating-standards-you-should-have-by-30/ Some points don’t apply to everyone. I’m sure those ones will be obvious when you see them :)

Don’t sacrifice yourself for a man - ever. Not for his career, his wants for children, or his wants when it comes the country you live in! You have time! Also, as mature as you think you are, you will grow times 100 in the next 10 years.

That was so amazing to read! Thank you! I am so impressed with your strength and your ability to value yourself. The delete and block is the hardest thing for me. I feel like I am putting bad energy into the ether by doing it, but I think the reality may be that I am just letting these kinds of guys zap my energy and apportion me low value.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
