If you get to keep the car, the 75k debt is all yours. The credit card debt is marital debt so I would use that. You need to speak to a lawyer and fight for your dog. Because you are in the military, it does not mean that you cannot look after your dog. When it comes to deployments, family can look after him. Make sure you work everything out concerning the dog. Well, I'm assuming he'd still see the kid but I still think it's better than growing up in a dysfunctional family and teaching the kid whatever behaviors are correct

No, I was sensible and didn't have kids because I don't want them. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna judge someone who screwed up and then realized they never wanted kids. We don't know the entire situation, just this post. Don't read into crap. Don't judge people on their mistakes. Better to leave than have that child being raised up in a screwed up family situation. That would be worse

I would go to see a couple of lawyers first. If you speak to the lawyer, they cannot then see your wife. Do this especially if you live in a small area and have limited lawyer options, or if you would rather secure the best affordable lawyer first. I didn't do it this way and ended up having to represent myself. Don't do that - it is the most stressful thing I have ever been through

I completely agree with the above. My first divorce was not amicable and it was quite traumatic. I was in the same position as you but, after a year I relocated 1500 miles away. Extreme, but that really helped me. It was a completely fresh start that I looked forward to. Divorce is hard but you will get through it.
