The weed is probably exacerbating or causing her anxiety/depression, binge eating and the "ADHD"... people can't concentrate when they smoke pot all the time. She sounds like a lazy, neurotic, and unfaithful spouse. I would go forward with the divorce, she is just a liability to you financially and emotionally. I wish you all the best!

Good description. I think it may be a PTSD (anxiety/panic) response, and should get professional help to deal with the underlying stressors, and how to handle them. For me alcohol made shit sooo much worse, even a week after my last drink.

I had this. It's kind of like a social phobia (but not really), I like social situations. It got so much worse when using alcohol. The feeling like your every move is under a proverbial microscope, and felt very unsettling. The more I tried to steady my hands, the worse they got. My problems with it went away after I quit drinking entirely, because sometimes I would try to self-medicate those symptoms and feelings away, which only made them much worse. Prayers to you, and your health! Take care …

Check with a doctor to rule out anything physical. It could likely be anxiety. I have had them my entire life, and a day after drinking made them seriously worse. Full disclosure: I am a recovering alcoholic (8+ years) and back when I was drinking the tremors and the constant inner restlessness were absolutely horrible, even days after my last drink. Try to avoid alcohol for a few weeks and see if it improves! I've had a small amount of tremors, and anxiety problems my whole life, and have notic…

If the property was in your name, or jointly owned, it sounds like she committed fraud. Property laws differ by state, but if she signed your name in order to sell, she could be criminally charged if you file a complaint. I would get a lawyer to sort out the civil affairs and the potential criminal actions.

In my experience as a recovering (8+ yrs) alcoholic, be aware of the tendency to lie, manipulate, and steal. It's part of the disease until successfully becoming sober. That requires brutal honesty to herself before you can ever expect honesty towards others. I'm willing to bet she is not honestly trying to quit, but trying to appease you by repeating rehab. Don't make it worse by enabling her behavior. It wasn't clear to me if she was switching YOUR anxiety meds for BP pills or the other way ar…

I would assume if any alimony were involved, it would seem obvious that I would be on the receiving end, given her significantly higher income. It seems fair that I be entitled to some spousal support, but I'm certainly not looking to financially crush her, unless things get ugly somewhere. She does like to try and lay a guilt-trip on me by saying things like "My parents are poor so I have no inheritance coming to me later on, like you will." Jeez. I just ignore that passive-aggressive bait. It …

I'd hope so... but heck, after Bankruptcy trustee takes their huge share from her, I worry there ain't enough nickels left to even support a rabbit. I guess a lawyer can tell me more on that. Like who gets priority to the monies, her creditors she previously screwed over, or her stbx and child?

Thank you so much for your advice!! I haven't a clue what my dad is thinking by waiting even longer... it sure does seem like he's the one making me stall for time. He has always been a "tough love" type of father. Unfortunately when when I'm suffering in such a fragile state like this, I tend to assume that the "emotionally stable" person I'm confiding in knows a better way forward than I do. I really feel the urgency of this situation, but my thoughts are so scrambled and confusing that coming…

That makes sense, but with my tiny disability income, I don't know if I can provide her a home to stay. My wife seems to think that she is the only one who can actually provide for her, but now that she is in the early stages of her second bankruptcy, I can't agree with her. I also have no idea if I can even GET any money out of her once it all starts getting garnished. There's just so many variables! Thanks for your reply and insight... I have a thirst for as much advice as I can get right now.…

Thank you for your reply, as well as confirming my recent thought processes. It's going to take time to wander through the court system, but my Dad has repeatedly told me to hold off until she's closer to graduation. Next time I talk to him, I'll ask him what the reason to wait is? For me to become further emotionally unstable? It's hard when you pour your heart out in an email to your Father (a few months back), and when I asked him about his thoughts on it, he tells you he wouldn't read it. He…

I suspect she may want you to file the suit thinking it may increase her odds of getting alimony...

Nice! My wife kept the master when we separated in '14, and I got stuck with the guest room when I returned (a better person) a year later to iron out a financial disaster. It was my fault back then, that's when I bottomed out from alcoholism, although she was aware of that problem when we married in '07, and often kept pace with me in the early years, until she quit drinking, and demanded me to do the same. I just couldn't stop without a spiritual awakening and serious medical intervention. I f…

F that husband job if she's treating you like sheet. Take care of yourself (physically and emotionally), and do your best to be there for your kids. Leaving the house could compromise you with child custody.

Excellent advice here. It helped me try to be more positive of my future. I have a metaphorical brick wall that is preventing me from envisioning a happy future after my divorce. I have to wait out the clock before I go down that road. I just can not leave my 15 1/2 year-old daughter with an absent father. Both my parents did that to me when I was 16 (left town and built a new house, leaving their only child alone for over a year...). Messed me up pretty bad, and made many poor choices as a resu…

You can stay unless/until the court makes you leave (or you can't stand it anymore). Don't leave because she tells you to get out... it doesn't work that way if no abuse is occurring (outside of the psychological abuse, which can be more painful if you let it). I'd park my derriere until an agreement/judgement is reached. If she wants you out, she may have to buy you out, or vice/versa if you want to stay... Or the house may need to be sold to distribute assets. The men don't have to leave, I th…
