Yep, me too. Exactly this. Unfortunately, I've got to the point where I'm dreading returning to work.

If you both want to save it, get some help. Professional help. There's no shame in it, you're trying to save your family. But you have to both want to.

I definitely would have married my, now ex, girlfriend. I wanted to do everything again with her. Since we split, nope. Not interested in marriage or any more children. Maybe it'll change if I meet the right person. Marriage, that is, more kids, no. I've finally got out of changing nappies, I don't want to go back.

I don't think so now, although, at 38 time is on my side. I would have, and still would, marry my ex-girlfriend. I wanted to do it all again, marriage, kids, with her. I doubt I'll meet anyone that makes me feel that again

Petrified. I wasn't just leaving her, but 4 kids too. Obviously, I still see the children, but I was breaking up the family. I just didn't love her anymore and being there was killing me. It was the hardest thing I've done, by a mile, but also the best

Be the bigger person and don't cause any more pain than necessary. I've been there too. My ex lied to me about filing for divorce and it cost me my new partner, who I still love more than anything. Now my ex-wife is pregnant and wants me to hurry up with the divorce, because she doesn't want to still be married to me when she has the baby. I could delay it, and give her some payback, what am I gaining? I already hate seeing her when I pick the kids up, I don't need to make it worse. And that's w…

I have to say, given the distance, I don't blame you for seeing them once a month. How do you find that? How do your kids find it?

How often do you see them? This is another thing. If their mum decides to move, there's nothing I can do about it and everyone would say good for her. If I move, I'll be a deadbeat dad

Yeah, I'd quite like to be a couple of thousand miles away from their mum

Pretty much everyone tells me the same. I'm stuck in a 2 bedroom flat at the moment, which, while really big, isn't going to be suitable for much longer. I can easily get a three bed house for the same money by moving 2 hours away

This is the dilemma. Trouble is, they're young. 8, 6, 4 & 2. The eldest has noticed I'm not happy, but I don't think he'll understand why or why I'd move away

I enjoyed this a lot. For the record, it was my relationship after my divorce that ended because of this. Not only did this woman expect everything from me, she expected while I was still going through divorce and trying to maintain a relationship with my kids. Too much for any man or woman, I think.

Comes in waves, buddy. Crashes down on you when you least expect it

I'd be careful. I jumped straight into another relationship and I was still processing things that I didn't even realise. 2 years down the line, I'm probably ready, but that relationship didn't work because I was largely emotionally unavailable. I didn't know at the time, but I do now

Hard as it is, give it time. You've only been apart 9 weeks. Your daughter is probably angry at you, even if it's not your fault. She will get over it when she's ready. It might be in a few weeks, it might be in a few years. But she will, and she will know that you've always been there waiting for when she's ready.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
