That doesn’t make any sense. If we weren’t supposed to pray to Mary or ask the saints for their intercession, the rosary wouldn’t exist. Praying to God directly is always nice, but if I’ve got a particular issue I need assistance with, or just general guidance I’ll look up the saint that issue is relevant to and throw an “ora pro nobis” their way.

I went on a Birthright trip which, if you're not familiar with the company, is a free trip subsidized by the Israeli government and a bunch of philanthropists offered to Jewish people between 18 and 45. I was, at the time a practicing Reform Jew which is the more lax of the three main denominations. I felt way out of place because I was the sole convert on the trip, and while everyone was super nice and non-judgemental something stuck with me when I got home. It was also an Orthodox group so goi…

I left Judaism in favor of Catholicism for several reasons six months ago, but you’re still right.

I don’t think I’ve voluntarily paid a cent in tax since I left the military. When I was a lawyer I used under the table cash-only fees and when I was an active Rabbi I diverted my paycheck into the synagogue’s education and enrichment fund.

This shit right here is why I refuse on principle to pay taxes. The government’s not going to give a fuck about me either way.

You’ve just about hit the nail on the head.

If I'm remembering correctly, Boeing's stock did something similar after their CEO stepped down.

Damn straight. I spent the better part of 20 years in the military and after a year and a half in therapy I’ve become significantly more jaded about a number of things including my service. It’s all bullshit.

I probably will at some point. The next two weeks are going to be kind of nuts, but most likely after that.

I went MGTOW in 2013 after a relationship went south and I was in a bad place mentally. I found God again last year after a 20-something year stint as an agnostic.

When I complete my conversion to Catholicism, I intend to join a religious order and I'm considering the Franciscans of the Primitive Observance.

Holy shit this is depressing. This is why I’m considering a vocation to religious life, then shit like this will never become an issue.

I'll probably get rid of the crate once he's about a year old or so.
/r/MGTOW06/11/19 04:21 PM

No, that's the last thing you want to do. It's a form of potty training that teaches the dog not to view the crate as a place to use the bathroom.

No problem. I'd never heard of it prior to getting this puppy. Although I've never had a puppy prior to him. All my other dogs were older.

I'm crate-training him, and so far he's adapted to it fairly well.

What kind of sick, fucked up person, and I use that term lightly, does this not only to another person, but someone whose baby is dying? Just what the fuck?

I was in the Navy as a JAG lawyer for three years. After I got out on a medical technicality, I told myself I would only work corporate law to avoid falling into the Type A mold. So I went to work for a medium-size tax firm suing the IRS on behalf of people who either got screwed over on a return and knew the government hadn’t paid them in full, or people who had warrants for tax evasion despite dutifully paying everything they owed, and a thousand things in-between. Type C’s are easy to spot be…

I used to be an attorney, and I've found there are generally three types of lawyers: Type A are the sleazy, small firm or private practice lawyers who handle family issues or chase ambulances. Those guys will fuck you over as hard as they can to not only win, but subsequently raise their stature and get more clients and more money. Type B are the mega-firm attorneys who stop at nothing to make partner as young as possible. They steal paralegals and law clerks on the regular from other attorneys,…

I’m a fan of The West Wing Weekly. It’s hosted by Josh Malina and Hrishikesh Hirway, and each week they break down an episode of The West Wing, and they usually have guests on that either starred in the episode or someone that does something connected with that episode’s subject matter.

Walkaway was formed as a response to the Democrats swinging to the fringe left, and not giving a shit about the average American. MGTOW could be paralleled in some aspects.

Unfortunately not. Your best bet would probably be one of the four service academies, but those come with a commitment.

It would all depend on the type of corporate law you want to practice. If, for example, you wanted to go into banking or antitrust law then a degree in finance would help tremendously.

I had to put my dog down about four weeks ago and the vet was kind enough to not charge for the injection. I'm definitely getting insurance for my next one.

I’ve been going to synagogue more regularly since I’m not currently working due to circumstances beyond my control. I’m also looking at buying a new car since mine’s sort of old.

I recently bought Subnautica and have been playing the shit out of it, although I played Fallout 4 for a few hours in between. I’ve also started playing Star Trek Online again after about a three month hiatus.
