Yes definitely they have more of that influence. I also did not realise how much they valued personal space , as I grew up in a small Czech town and everyone knew each other and would be open with one another. However it makes some sense as I think Americans have less of a community feeling

I am also from Central Europe ! and was surprised when I found out most of them wear shoes and do not walk anywhere because of the road infrastructure, so that caught me into thinking they would have completely different dating rules/mannerisms as well

Thank you for such a detailed response. I will definitely ensure I do the point about engaging with his family without relying on him to start the conversation. I definitely will try charming his mother as she is quite a wealthy woman and considering my village raised background and the fact I am quite young she is not too fond on my boyfriends plans of getting engaged with me. Nevertheless, I will do my best, thank you again.

His family lives in Vermont. He told me that his grandparents are conservative but his parents are apolitical/left leaning. In my home country it is a custom to bring food that you cooked when you visit someone’s house/or some flowers. I was wondering if in the USA there is some other specific custom

Definitely, it talks about how you don’t give yourself up for hookups and how to set boundaries in a way where you can be more sly

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
