I'm arguing that you are wrong about Clooney and wrong about actresses beyond 35. And clearly about everything else
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 02:03 PM

I'm not your private tutor. Go educate yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 01:57 PM

No he wasn't. He was a sex symbol in his 30s, he was considered an older silver fox in his 50s. There are quite a few actresses considered highly beautiful in the 30s and beyond.

Not delusional, Pierce has said so in multiple interviews
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 01:21 PM
2

How can you debate a topic when you don't even know the basic definitions?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 01:20 PM
2

I'd agree with that
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 12:35 PM
3

I did not suggest mother had no responsibilities
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 12:24 PM

Men do flock to Meryl, she's the dream of many a man. She was the whole reason Pierce Brosnan starred in Mamma Mia.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 12:14 PM
4

Oh my. Do get thee to a bookshop at double speed for that dictionary. Neither feminine nor masculine is superior to the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 12:12 PM
5

See this is what I think. I would rather have spent my life alone with cats than with a man who wasn't worth it - in fact i was prepared to until I met my husband.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 12:09 PM

On note 2, whilst the 'waif look' was attractive in the 1920s it was not considered so earlier on. In the 1700s and 1800 very slim was considered unattractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:48 AM
7

Masculine and feminine are equal. Perhaps you should treat yourself to a dictionary? The OED is very good.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:46 AM
1

Oh thank you!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:45 AM
6

Where did I claim that? I claimed that men would be married if they were more like my husband, I never mentioned men pursuing marriage. Most men of my class and education are the same. My career is not of the secretary type.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:36 AM
7

Well my husband disagrees. He would never want a stay at home partner, he wanted and wants a clever, ambitious woman. He loves that I'm achieving on my career and finds it highly attractive. And he considers me his equal in every way. My dad is the same, his nightmare is a stay at home partner. Also you can be career focused and feminine I understand what you are saying. You are just wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:30 AM
11

Not really. I am very lucky with my husband, I don't see a lot of men who are willing to be a partner like he is. If there were more men like him they would all be married.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:17 AM
15

Not all women can have my husband. Plus we are childfree As I said, I'm talking about statistics. Statistically, married mothers are more stressed, more sleep deprived and not as happy. Married fathers are less stressed and happier.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:13 AM
8

No, men are happier when married. Their lives improve and their stress reduces
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:11 AM
10

Why? I fell in love with the best person I've ever met
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:07 AM
2

I'm very happy as a married woman. I'm talking about statistics
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:06 AM
15

Do you think single childfree women don't have jobs? Or bills?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:05 AM
11

As far as I recall, the happiest are single childfree women and then married fathers.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:04 AM
6

If you want a boost - i'm nearly 40 and I'm happier than I've ever been
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 11:03 AM
5

Childfree, single women are the happiest in society. Also fertility is a gradual decline, not a steep one
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 10:17 AM
1

But without the liberty to choose their own partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 09:20 PM
9

Well I have a secure and settled relationship with a man I had the liberty to choose
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 08:01 PM
2

Why have you edited your comment into a completely different comment?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 07:58 PM
3

You are still far stronger than the average woman by virtue of being male
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 07:47 PM

Not it isn't. I am talking about physicality and size. You are trying to drag me into talking about race, a topic I know very little about.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 02:21 PM

This has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 02:18 PM
7

I don't want to ban men from anywhere
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 02:08 PM
27

I think it is pretty normal to be wary and fear someone who is far bigger than you, stronger than you and can easily over power you when you don't know them
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 01:55 PM
1

Yes but by doing so without making it clear is bad reddiquette as it makes it impossible to have a discussion. As such I will no longer continue.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 12:58 PM
1

Also nice edit, bad reddiquette. Edit: so that is three edits now to a comment without making it clear. Bad etiquette on reddit.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 12:48 PM

Well... men have tried to attack me 3 times thus far in my adult life. So not that small. And tried to intimidate me quite a few more times. I am not playing the odds, I am just keeping myself safe. Precisely why my husband prefers I do not go out alone after dark.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 12:44 PM
1

I would be more wary and likely ensure I would not be alone with you until I knew you better.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 12:41 PM
-2

Men are bigger and stronger than I am by far and if one attacked me there is nothing I could do to stop it. That's the root of the wariness. Women tend not to be. I'm not prejudiced, I am sensible.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 12:35 PM
0

Where did I say I wouldn't hire someone? I have hired men. I work solely with men. However that does not stop me being wary of the ones I do not know.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 12:30 PM
4

I think it is pretty normal to be wary and fear someone who can easily over power you when you don't know them
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 12:06 PM

Well i wouldn't. When someone shows you who they are - believe them
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 10:37 AM

There is a difference between being a bit grumpy and narky and saying awful things. Who wants to date a nasty person?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 10:25 AM
1

The low divorce rates?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 06:37 PM
8

My husband feels the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 04:21 PM
2

Ah I see!
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 03:18 PM
2

This all sounds like terrible advice
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 03:10 PM
2

Oh we did that! We bought a house then on the day we moved in he proposed. Such a great way to start married life
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 01:01 PM
2

Happy wedding planning! From a wife married for a decade - marriage is awesome!
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 12:57 PM
2

I adore my husband. When he was rushed to hospital before we were married I was not allowed to see him or make his medical decisions ( which he wanted me to do). As his wife I can. Legal protections are vital in real life.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 12:56 PM
26

I love my husband. I wanted to be committed and a family with my husband. Therefore I married my husband. 15 years of relationship and 12 years of marriage later we are happier than ever and still as ( if not more) attracted to each other. And I'm still so proud to say 'my husband'
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 09:32 AM
1

Why not both?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 09:06 PM

Emma Watson IS a famous feminist
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 05:48 PM
1

Also...are you using Wikipedia as a source?!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 05:29 PM
1

When was the vote for this leader? And what nation?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 05:27 PM

Feminism is about equality. That is it. It is not man hating. If people are using feminism as a way to attack men then they are not feminists
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 05:02 PM
3

You know you can have a relationship with a man and not have children? There are good and kind men.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 12:03 PM
2

When I was single I was looming for a potential husband. I had no interest in a casual relationship. I wanted a kind, clever, ambitious, serious man who was transparent, who could make me laugh and who I found attractive. Luckily i found him!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 12:02 PM

No they don't. It is landlords responsibility unless the tenant caused the damage
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 04:01 PM

Same here. There is no 50/50 for us, it is all ours
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 03:54 PM

I wanted a partner. We both work in our careers and we do a fair share of the chores ( this is dependant on hours worked). My husband did not want a housewife and I'd rather jump off a cliff than be one
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 03:53 PM
2

Well that is rubbish
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 05:43 PM
3

That's the goal of some men, not all
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 05:43 PM
1

I'm sorry, no decent woman is laughing at anyone for being a teacher. Any more than builders are being laughed at. Don't lie, that's no way to start a relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 05:42 PM
2

Why not? I'm 15 years into one and incredibly happy.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 02:55 PM
2

No longterm relationship would last on lust alone
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 02:54 PM
-2

It is not, only on this forum. It is meant for men doing basic things in a relationship but being celebrated like they are the best partner ever whereas it is just considered normal for women to do them ( as in cooking or childcare or hoovering)
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 02:06 PM
7

Love can be killed. By lies or infidelity
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 10:57 AM
-3

Again, this saying is being misused. It has nothing to do with dating pool Edit: I do not respond to private messages.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 10:36 AM
-4

Well done, you missed the entire point
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 02:59 PM
1

Tried to scare away the hangovers we attained last night drinking martinis with not enough food
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 02:21 PM
1

Wow. Perhaps join a library and read some history books.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 02:14 PM
3

Yes they have. There has never been a period in time where women did not work. Certain classes of women didn't but women on a whole have always worked. Can you be more specific than 1801 onwards?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 02:10 PM
4

Women have always worked. So, again, what time period are you referring to here?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 02:05 PM
3

What time period are you referring to as 'back in the day'?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 02:01 PM
4

My brother in law is seriously offended by this. He is a fantastic father and hates it when people congratulate him for basic parenting.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:35 PM
2

Widows were reliant on their closest male relation.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:30 PM
-2

That has nothing to do with the discussion, it is about the phrase and it's usage.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 12:39 PM
-9

The phrase in the op is used in the circumstances I am outlining, not when one is selecting a partner
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 10:41 AM
1

10.25am
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 10:25 AM
57

This is more to do with how men doing the cooking or the childcare is considered 'oh my God best husband ever' whereas it is considered normal for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 10:18 AM
2

Point 2 is correct, it puts these women in a very vulnerable position. Especially if they are not married
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 07:39 AM
1

Ok. Ciao
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:40 PM
1

I've told you. Repeatedly already. I love my husband. I have zero interest in anyone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:38 PM
1

Is 15 years enough?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:36 PM
1

Oh no(!) The trauma of him being happy with a woman who loves, adores him and who has never been disloyal.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:33 PM
1

I'll let him know when we are on our date night later. I'm sure he'll believe random weirdo on the Internet over his partner of over a decade. Good luck!
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 01:56 PM

Sounds like you've not experienced a happy and trusting relationship. Sorry. I trust my husband. He trusts me. We both consider cheaters to be the scum of the earth. If he asked for a paternity test it would mean he no longer trusted me and thus no longer loved me and considered me capable of such deceit. He could have the test but it would be with a divorce.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 01:48 PM

No. If my husband questions my fidelity after 15 years of devotion and love then he means he doesn't know me at all or trust me. If I questioned him he'd feel the same. Trust is like glass.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 01:42 PM

What? Being happy with him? Adoring him?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 01:37 PM

Except I'm not. Incredibly happily married
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 01:12 PM

Not at all
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 12:22 PM

If my husband, who I gave devoted my life to for 15 years and have never lied to, accused me of: Meeting another man Kissing another man Undressing in front of another man Making love to another man Falling pregnant to said man And lying about all the above. Then I am definitely having huge issues with it. The trust would be gone. Our love would be damaged. And I would likely never trust him again.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 10:44 AM
1

The chap in the op sounds reserved rather than shy
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 07:44 AM
6

The statistics would disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 01:28 PM
4

Wow. Just wow.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 01:26 PM
8

So a small portion then who are likely stay at home partners. Thanks for agreeing 😊 And also thanks for the rudeness! 😊
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 12:54 PM
4

Maybe it's an American thing. I've always gone dutch until marriage then it came from our joint account
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 12:18 PM
7

In what universe?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 12:12 PM
10

If they are the stay at home partner then that is normal. When both have careers then the money from both parties goes into a joint account for expenses
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 12:10 PM
7

Challenge* I used my life experience as an example.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 11:49 AM
4

I'm pointing out that in my real life all the women in relationships have never acted like in the OP. You are making a false equivalency that has nothing to do with the topic at hand
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 11:43 AM
7

Ah a false equivalency. Lovely
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 11:39 AM
33

I don't know a single woman in a serious relationship who treats her partner as a money machine. They are all either: Stay at home mums and wife's working their socks off with a part time job Or Have their own career
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 11:16 AM
2

My incredibly fit and hairy husband ( no clean faces thanks- stubble is sexy! ) never ever smells, except of aftershave and cleanliness. But then he showers daily
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 08:08 AM
3

I wax my underarms and I'm a pretty feminist. Doesn't change the fact that having hair is more hygienic
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/24 10:53 PM
0

Yes, it is more hygienic to have underarm hair
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/24 10:51 PM
4

It's not debatable - it is fact
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/24 10:49 PM
2

It is more hygienic to have underarm hair
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/24 10:48 PM

I love to travel. I have always loved it. Spring in Paris or Christmas in Germany. I take photos but they are for my photo albums and the walls at home. My husband also loves the same type of travelling thank god as I could not be with someone who did not want to go touring vineyards in bordeaux. Travelling across Europe was a staple of my childhood. And my University years. I don't see how it such a thing to be scared of.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/24 08:50 AM

I've been the child in this scenario and it's bloody awful.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/24 01:30 PM

Is anyone picking social media? If they are they may have an issue I'd stop using social media, clearly
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/24 01:29 PM
3

They would have to drag me away from him, my fingernails catching on the doorframe. We are for life, in sickness and health.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/24 01:27 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
