yes I am not. but as i said i don't want to lead him on if i am clear that i will never fall for him. I am ambivalent at this point and this question is more out of curiosity. If we could have met in person I would have known what to do and what to look for. I am just curious on what is the way to do this if we have only ever met once.

do you only talk to people you are romantically interested in?

fully agree with you. I am not the one initiating conversations at this moment. He generally calls either asking for some advice or a lead and then stretches that conversation to discuss about life. Initially I was pretty confused about why he does that till my friend said that he might be romantically interested. So there is that. But I also don't want to lead him on if I am never going to develop feelings.

Thanks that helps; however we can't have dates right now. But yes I guess I will wait and watch.

wouldn't the answer almost always be 'yes'?

ugh... that's horrible. I don't care about people's pasts but they should really be honest about it. I don't mind dating a guy with kids but I just don't want to push anything through my vagina :P and yeah, I so wish men were more honest on these apps.

oh i take 'i don't know yet' to mean the same thing as 'not looking for a relationship'

same here.. because my profile explicitly says that I don't want kids!

thanks :) yes my 2020 resolution is to look at everything more objectively and take decisions based on what is better in the long run. I am too old for 'live-in-the-moment'

well, he said 'if you change your mind let me know.' I won't change my mind. But it remains to be seen how he behaves in the coming days. In my experience some men take it well in the moment but then try to convince and when I don't get convinced they turn bitter.

thanks! yes i thought about it too, would have just wasted our time

agreed... i wrote all that I had to say in a letter and then left it at the cafe in which I was writing it for a random stranger to find it and perhaps be better to their partner. though, I doubt men ever learn/improve

well and then they divorce that *anyone*, cause her mental issues and trauma and then look out for the next prey to whom they can say "i am not looking for a relationship"

I agree. I also realized there is no better feeling than getting up one fine morning and realizing that you are done and not feel hurt or upset.

I am doing you the favour of letting you know sounds a little passive-aggressive. but thanks :)

yes you are right. but what should that text be? what is high value text in this situation?

an endpoint in my head. i don't like having things unsaid or uncoomunicated. also, I don't want to give him a chance to tell my friends that I am overreacting, because they don't know the entire story.

just tell him that 'hey I am not good at texting and I am not fond of men who do.' He will either up his game or run off.

I want to call out a guy for his hot and cold behavior by sending a calm and composed text that makes me have the upper hand. I am not looking for communication or an apology from him but every text that I drafted makes me sound a bit needy for attention. I don't want to send an angry text because that will make him think that I still care (I don't). I don't want to have things left unsaid either because we have many mutual friends and I am going to run into him eventually.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
