How do I test this guy?

Quite honestly I am not even interested in the guy.

Don’t fall down the cycle of boredom and talking to guys you’re not even interested in because:

a) assuming you develop interest, chances are you will have to wait quite awhile to go on a date with him

b) it will have all been a waste of time and energy if you don’t find yourself keen or connected

c) it’s really hard to gauge what someone is like if your only interaction is virtual and you can’t really test whether or not he’s “worth it” until things normalize a bit given the pandemic

Lean back.

Let him drive and steer the relationship. Don’t put in the work - let him plan and pay for dates and don’t initiate. You’re not interested in being a pen pal or a text buddy - based on what he plans and what he does, you can see if he’s been paying attention to your likes, wants, desires, goals, etc.

If he wants someone to drive and steer and mommy him, he won’t respond well to a woman who leans back. But a HVM will adapt quickly and take the lead if you give it to him.

Never place weight on what he says and place it ALL on his actions. If he promises one thing and does another, believe the action above all.

Test him? If you’re not interested, leave him alone. If he calls, either tell him you’re busy and don’t have time for frequent convos or just don’t answer immediately and take a while to get back to him. I don’t think it’s kind to string him along and “test him”.

You don’t. Setting up a guy sounds exhausting and doesn’t really sit right with me. But I am the type of woman that if a man offered me full and free access to his phone to “prevent cheating,” I would rather up and leave. I am too old and tired to be babysitting men to make sure they’re doing the bare minimum.

You sit back and observe and vet like crazy.

Btw why are you talking with a guy you’re not into? a waste of time and mental space.

It’s not always possible to see red flags straight away. This is why we say it’s important to keep vetting. It’s impossible to know what someone is really like after knowing them for a couple of weeks, IMO.
