I came outThank you! You found my people. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/11/24 06:32 AM
I came outMy STBX admitted to me last night that she knew I was gay. She thought that I was bi and that she just really wanted to be with me. She found out from one of my hook-ups before the wedding. I'm not sure what I should do with this information? | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/11/24 05:24 AM
I came outI realised my mistake. This may have been the wrong platform. However, so many people in a similar situations have reached out, that I will take the abuse in order for others to not feel so alone. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/11/24 05:13 AM

I came outFor better or worse. I did not sign up for sadness and depression. My alternative was self-harm. I think I made the better choice. Unhappy is what I am, but on a deeper level, that unhappiness would've killed me. Then there would've been a single mom fending for her kids without any support. This way, I can at least support and help raise my kids. Be careful not to judge without knowing the whole story. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/11/24 05:04 AM
I came outYes, I am fully aware that she may feel betrayed. I do check in with her very often to ensure she is still ok. I left the door open for any discussion she wants to have. I am not abandoning her. I am doing whatever I can to support her. We've had several discussions lasting hours, so I don't think I can do much more. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/11/24 05:00 AM
I came outWho says it was not real. Our marriage was real. The love was real. Our kids are real. From your point of view, with very limited insight into what is actually happening in our lives, you may feel that I am downplaying this. I am mostly defending myself from attacks on this subreddit. We have spent hours talking and discussing it. I am giving her all the support I can. My priority is for her to be happy as I can't provide that happiness. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/11/24 04:54 AM
I came outWe had the discussion and looked at the options. For both of us to find happiness, this is the way to be. Neither of us can offer the other what we desire. I want her to be happy and won't hold her back from that. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/11/24 04:48 AM
I came outResorting to name calling to win an argument means you don't have a strong argument to begin with. Also, you may call me whatever you want, I have no feelings. I stand by my comment. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 09:23 PM

I came outI am not failing to realise anything! You assume a lot in your comment. Yes, I lied. Yes, I am the asshole. Yes, I hurt her. What I dont say in the post is the hours' worth of conversations we've had since I told her. I do listen and support her. We're working through this like adults. Best not to assume what others say, think or do. I am to blame and I acknowledge that I caused pain. We are working through it together. Each getting a chance to say how they feel and get validated. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 09:07 PM

| -7 | I came outYou are entitled to your opinion. My reality, however, does not have to conform to your opinion. I stand by my statement | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 08:51 AM |
I came outThank you. I don't take the hate comments to heart. I understand it comes from a place of feeling hurt and betrayed. Their misdirected anger speaks volumes of the pain they're enduring. I know I am not the only one going through this. I really appreciate your kind words. My STBX and I had a very open discussion. I answered all her questions honestly and told her that I will continue answering honestly. It is liberating to be honest about who I am. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 07:42 AM
I came outThank you for the kind words. This post is absolutely not an exhaustive detail of my sex and relationship life up to this point. I have been with men before I got married. Society required me to be straight and I convinced myself that is what I was. I have done the investigations. It took me almost 3 years to finally come to terms with who I really am. I have a friend who happens to be gay that is supporting me and listening when I want to talk. Since our separation, I have been spending time wi… | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 06:42 AM
I came outI fully understand how it can feel like wasted years. In our case, we don't view it as wasted years. We were happy. It just turned out we want different things. My wife is very supportive and truly seems to grasp the concept. We discussed it at lenght and each had a chance to explain their feelings. Strange as it may seem, she seems fine with it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 05:33 AM
I came outI did not cheat. I figured I wanted something else and started the divorce proceedings. I intended on telling her after the divorce was final, bit it happened much sooner. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 05:26 AM
I came outThat would be nice. No, I am sharing. There are other people like me who started reaching out for support. It was not my intension to offer support. I just wanted it out there. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 05:20 AM
I came outYes, I knew, but also I didn't. I was convinced it was a phase and that I am straight. I entered our marriege believing I was straight. In hindsight, I should've known better. No, I didn't use my wife. We were happy and loved each other very much. We plan to keep things friendly. Yes, I am the asshole, but also, I didn't plan this. I never cheated on her. I became depressed and had to find out why. With some introspection, I realised I wanted something else. We did not waste 13 years. We were ve… | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 05:16 AM
I came outOur marriage wasn't a lie. We loved each other and were happy for the majority of our marriage. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 05:07 AM
I came outYeah, mine too. Luckily we could talk openly and discuss our feelings. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 05:06 AM
| -2 | I came outIt may seem that way. I was convinced I was straight. I believed it. The truth was hidden. It started rearing its head about 2 years ago. We are divorcing amicably. She understands. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 05:04 AM |
| -5 | I came outNo, our marriage wasn't a lie. We were happy for the majority of our marriage. I truly loved her and she loved me. We didn't waste 13 years. We enjoyed it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 04:52 AM |
I came outLuckily she's not as judgemental as you. Yes, it was the prime of our lives, but we were happy for the majority of it. I didn't choose this. I do hope she finds someone better for her. I want to see her happy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 04:47 AM
I came outWe talked about it and she was very supportive. She understands the turmoil I had to endure. She said that she isn't sorry about the 13 years as we had some good times. My love for her was real. It just turns out I want something else. She understands. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 04:44 AM
I came outI deserve this and will take it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 04:40 AM
I came outThank you | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 03:14 AM
I came outThank you. It was emotional for both of us. At least I can now be completely honest. Not just to my STBX, but also to myself. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/24 03:12 AM
Who to talk to?I feel you. It's hard sometimes. Reach out to a friend if you can, else online communities like this one can be helpful. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/11/24 06:12 AM
How do you cope with guilt?Guilt can be incredibly heavy, especially when you feel responsible for hurting someone you deeply care about. The fact that you're recognizing your mistakes shows you're already on the path to understanding and growth, which is important. Self-forgiveness: It’s crucial to be kind to yourself. We all make mistakes, but that doesn’t define us. The guilt you’re feeling is a sign of your conscience, but it also needs to be tempered with compassion for yourself. You're not a perfect person, and that… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/11/24 10:22 AM
Going Through Divorce Still Living Together Looking for Advice on CopingOn a side note, please explain grey rock to me? I've seen it in several posts. (English is not my first language, so maybe I'm missing something) | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/11/24 08:43 AM
Am I an asshole for saying this:Going through a divorce myself at the moment, I can understand why she wants to be friends afterwards. We have kids together and that will bond us for the rest of our lives. If that is not the case in your situation, you are free to just let her be after the formalities. It can die a quiet death... | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/11/24 07:55 AM
