No. It's not. The app itself, the actual content (see: the app description in the app store), refers to "parents." Not "mothers," not "fathers," not "second cousins thrice removed," but "parents." You are so intent on manufacturing outrage over this non-issue that this whole thing seems like baiting at this point, and if it's not, I'm very upset to have someone like you representing the movement.

No, feminists get mad at that nonsense. No, extremists get mad at that nonsense. The feminism movement is a good movement, don't discredit all of it because a vocal minority try to use it to bash men. This kind of divisive language is what makes moderate feminists more likely to brush off the men's rights movement as a hate/troll group

It's less about the anonymous idiot (in the link you posted) saying that, and more about the 40k+ people agreeing with it

These kinds of posts make the MRA movement seem petty and laughable, discrediting countless men everywhere who suffer from serious, impactful issues. People who oppose the MRA movement see these kinds of posts and feel validated in brushing off an entire movement as "whiny" or not worth taking seriously. See my other comments for elaboration, I won't copy and paste here.

dis·crim·i·na·to·ry /dəˈskrimənəˌtôrē/ adjective making or showing an unfair or prejudicial distinction between different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex. Don't intentionally misinterpret what I said. This name is very clearly not discrimination. It doesn't prevent you from using it, it doesn't judge anyone who's not a "Mama." At worst it's slightly insensitive to anyone not a mother, and at best, it's a cute name that fits for the service.

This is not social change that needs to happen though. Just because the name isn't inclusive (doesn't represent fathers), doesn't make it exclusive (restricted to one audience, in this case mothers). Not everything can include representation for everyone. And it shouldn't. Forced representation is worse than none at all. If you really take offense to this name, why only fight for fathers? What about grandparents who raise abandoned children? Adopted parents? Sure, the name doesn't exclude an ado…

Why is that an important distinction? If you're arguing that the name of this app devalues your role as a father due to embracing stereotypical gender roles in terms of parenting, then how would a lawncare service called "Dads Ahoy" be any different? That devalues a woman's role as caretaker of the house, and yard work and other manual labor is stereotypically assumed to be a "man's job." You're making a mountain out of a molehill here

It's literally not more than a name though. Everything on the app page says "parent" this and "parents" that. The "Mama" part is literally just a cute name, like your child is saying "Hi Mama". It's easy, it's cute, it slides off the tongue easily, it's not worth getting upset about. The reality of life is that you're not the majority demographic of people who use the app. Is the name inclusive? No. Is it exclusive? I would also say no. While the name doesn't include fathers, I don't think the n…

At a cursory glance, this seems incredibly petty and unimportant. That's because it is incredibly petty and unimportant. Yes, in today's day and age, there are better names they could have used to better encompass the reality of modern parenting being not just for mothers, but another part of reality is that mothers still make up the majority of stay-at-home parents, and the name is supposed to be cute, like the kid is saying, "Hi, Mama!" I don't think,"Hi genderInclusiveParentalFigure!" has the…
