Funny how nearly every single friend circle I join seems to think I need help with attracting women. Back in HS, my friends kept on dragging me in front of women that clearly seemed bored by my presence. In Uni, my 2 closestbmates tried to set me up with girls that both ended up telling them they wanted more exciting guys than me, and now as I start my work life, my new housemate says he can bring home some prostitutes if I ever feel the need to "get rid of the virgin stench that's putting ladie…

And also, even if you did learn from a woman why is that gay. I guess the idea is that since cooking is a "female past time," the only way I could get that good is by neglecting my male hobbies and spending time with women. Only a guy with no interest in such and is comfortable around ladies (e.g. a homosexual) would fit that bill. People are so strange. So I am learning.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 10:15 AM

I thought learning to cook would make me an attractive guy. Instead, I have just overheard the following from a chubby, pretty girl gossiping to her friend, BFF: "How come he can cook this well?" Her: "He's probably gay or something. No man can learn to cook that well without learning from a woman. " Geez, Cindy. Here I was thinking this would be a way for us to connect and bond and yet you just drop me like that. Well, at least I can make some legendary cinnamon rolls and tandori chicken now.

I can say that nearly all the academically gifted guys I've known personally have talked about how tough it is to find a girlfriend nowadays. I did an informal survey and only 2 of the top 15 in our uni program are either married or dating seriously....Inb4 "School is not a predictor of intelligence."

CMV: Dating is screwed because men have very little to offer women in romantic relationships. In the last 200 years, men's bodies have been rendered almost useless for protection and labour, 2 unique things men could bring to the table of a romantic relationship. Also, since the '80s, women have enjoyed more freedom in education and the job market than they have traditionally had. This means financial stability is also out of the options available to be tabled. Apart from emotional support (whic…

Good point! I don't think I'd say I wanted any of them, but others will say it is possible to leverage those experiences into something else in adulthood. For instance, the most obvious one would be business and romantic relationships. I started my career rather late because no one seemed willing to go out on a limb and back me when it came to hiring. Then with romance, I have a far smaller social circle to pick from compared to folks that partied every fortinight. This becomes problematic when …

if not then you can meet friends as an adult its just harder because you put in extra effort to show up to events I've started to notice this as I grow. Back in uni, I remember women being eager to meet all kinds of people - guys included - whereas now, even a common interest isn't enough sometimes.

How so? One would say I've missed out on a lot of formative experiences e.g. I don't know how to react if a woman says her card declined and she needs me to lend her some cash. I don't know how to react if a lady says, "I want you to make me feel better." I don't know when it's okay to touch, hug or kiss a lady. 1st date? 2nd date? Official?

Met my old college dormmate and he just told me that I'll probably have a cosmic level midlife meltdown because I didn't enjoy my "college life experience." I didn't have black out drunk nights, subpar dates, hookups with curious girls or any of that stuff. He said, "Pretty soon, you'll see that all that focus you put on your degree was not even remotely worth it." Do you think he's right?

Work is a big ,"no-no," anyone with good sense is not stepping into a church, festivals and concerts are out of most young people's price range. How is eating pussy unmasculine Idk. He didn't elaborate. I'm still a virgin, but I don't think I'd have any qualms about doing it. The application of his advice varies on what you are looking for. Perhaps, but he did argue that the principles of attraction remain the same. But you did say it's making men worse. Yes, I did. You did say that it's making men depraved. Not quite. What I said was this; Gen-Alpha males might end up being the most depraved in history... The possibility of porn sending people into depravity is there but not always gauranteed. Sorry, how is that meaningfully different than evil? In the same way one might say pizza, black forest cake or weed are unhealthy, but not evil.

Still. OP's point is that even the best version of you, (whatever that even means) may still be unattractive. You can go to the gym, hire a stylist to fix your wardrobe, sacrifice your sanity to climb up the economic ladder and do everything else people do to "improve" themselves and still end up in virtually the same place. Race, height, facial bone structure and to a certain extent, personality are all fixed quantities, yet, they play a massive role in the modern mating market.

So we are stuck in a world in which men have been told not to do the approaching, and yet women do not want to do the approaching...

/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/23 10:18 AM

Well, according to most forms of psychological research and annecdotal evidence, male confidence (& sometimes even arrogance) is viewed upon as attractive. Hence if someone wants kids/female attention, given the highly competitive nature of modern dating markets, the best bet someone has is to become attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/23 09:57 AM

This is my biggest gripe with the "Just be Confident," advice most people seem to give men on this sub.

A man has to compete with all other men, so how can he compete You don't have to if you don't want to. There is quite a lot of evidence 123 that women tend to be hypergamous and that they will often check out of dating when men "higher" than them are unavailable or unattainable If you are disheartened by that, then perhaps it would be best to figure out how best to enjoy your life without the possibility of romantic relationships because in a dating market as competitive as that in the modern er…

Remarkable men will most likely get with remarkable women but there are still plenty of pickings left for the rest of us. TRP ideology would argue that most women want a remarkable man whether they themelves are remarkable or not. So if we assume they are correct, an unremarkable woman will still have lots of guys to choose from, while an unremarkable man will have a tough time and will probably have to deal with being a 2nd, 3rd or 4th round pick. And that might lead to resentment in both parti…

What evidence do YOU have that evolution does not apply to the homo sapien and specifically the brain? That's not my argument. My argument is that women not approaching men is not an evolutionary adaptation. Men weren’t ever scarce. We know this from ancient DNA and archaeological records. There were always roughly similar number of male and female Homo sapiens, but most men didn’t reproduce whereas most women did. I am very skeptical of this claim. For as long as war has been a part of human ex…

Like most of human behavior, it’s because of evolutionary biology and sexual selection. What evidence do you have for that claim? Men have, in general, evolved to be the pursuers. That’s why they chase and approach. Women just have to filter This seems illogical. Don't you think that in instances in which men were scarce, women would have to do the approaching if they wanted their genes passed on? Why hasn't such behaviour survived?

To all the women, what are your thoughts on dating a baby faced guy? Would it be a turn off because it's "unmasculine"?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 08:04 AM

Why do they say this? Few reasons. According to evolutionary psychology, it could be due to intra-sexual competition. Since statistically speaking, most older women find it significantly more difficult use just their looks to attract a partner, Evo Psych states that they might resort to other tactics. One is shaming men for picking women that are younger (pronounced: "prettier") than they are. It could be due to social upbringing. Most cultures in many western nations, view large age gap relatio…

There is some evidence that machiavellianism could also be attractive. Men that are willing to tell a woman just what she wants to hear with no regard for truth usually do better than men that are crippled by virtue. Especially in short term encounters....

That's weird, because women's issue with rejecting men who cold approach is when men threaten them, assault them, rape them, and murder them, but are always told that barely ever happens and women should stop living their lives in fear. This is true. In the words of one person, "A man's greatest fear is that the woman he's approaching will laugh at him, while a woman's greatest fear is that a man approaching will kill her." For this reason, many have suggested that it should be women to do the a…
