I think there is some cheating and hookups/fwbs/situationships but most people are still only between 3-8 bodies. The sluttiest girl I know was on 30+ last I heard and ime she’s an extreme outlier and is way higher than any of the other girls I know

In my anecdotal evidence, even the most shy and plain looking girl had at least a few hookups in college.
And I'm not even in the US, where it seems to me, hookup culture is the most present.

In my experience, you have a lot of Pareto effects while in college. 20% of guys have fucked or are currently fucking 80% of promiscuous girls while the other 80% of guys that want to be promiscuous get little to no action. I do remember that whenever we landed on conversations about this, say 7 to 8 out of 10 of us would either have nothing or just one experience to talk about. Then there'd be about 2 guys that would be showing us secretly recorded videos of them banging a new chick every weekend.

This isn't true for women as the bar men use towards college women is quite low. I remember that quite a few average, shy, bookish girls ended up pregnant because they, "Wanted to see what it was like to be a bad girl."

I've seen this myself, trust me girls are really sneaky and good at hiding the Truth, to the point they believe it themselves. If they find someone who they like or even someone who theuy will commit to, they find no reason to tell that guy how many guys they've slept with, and they will just give a low number, because in their mind they think they are now loyal and If they tell you the real number you will think bad of them which is not necessary since they is no reason to feel that way since they are committed now and they want to make things work out and maybe even call you delusional for thinking like that, so in their mind they are fixing your problem which is that you care about numbers and is not necessary.

This is women's logic.

Makes no sense to me, I always wanted to be told the truth. And women 90% women never say this to you because of the reason I've explained, hopefully I'm really good when I see someone lies, it's just obvious to me. And even better is I had a period of my life when I was hanging out a friend who was a player, and I saw how easily girls would have sex with a random guy. If they see you catched them and saw how easily they did it, they will tell you truth about their number, and it makes me amazed how fakin that number is high, and how irresponsible and uncontrollable they are, if they want sex, THEY WILL SIMPLY GET IT. To me as a man it's just disappointing. Specially as someone who has the right values and always cares about how would one day my girlfriend would feel as being my girlfriend, definitely I will keep the number low for her to feel special and good. Whereas I actually do it. Women simply lie about it. They do whatever they want, they spend their time having sex and doing whatever with whoever they want, and when they get tired of it and get enough, they will go for only one man, and commitment. Probably to a guy like me who kept the control and didn't do mistakes. It's funny to me what they do and what they expect to get. That is why I tell you, get really good at seeing who people really are, and their lies, you've got only one life and you never want waste your time on the wrong person, or even worse to get played by a person like this.

In my experience women generally don’t count hookups as ‘partners’ so the statistics are correct (from their pov) but also they are having more sex than they like to let on.

Men like to always assume women are capable of things they would do if they were hypothetically a woman themselves, how they would totally sleep with a new person every weekend, have lots of sex generally, do porn/onlyfans/stripping/sugar relationships for money, whatever.

Reality is that unless you’re messed up in the head, the emotional toll of sleeping with new people every weekend and being a general whore is quite high and a lot of women don’t have a libido high enough to desire that lifestyle. Drugs and alcohol definitely help (and there is no shortage of men willing to feed that for sex so you see how they go hand in hand), but the vast majority of women will hookup with you but it’ll be their one and only hookup that month or even that year, or their one hookup turned into dating which turned into a relationship, taking them out of the pool of women able to hook up for an amount of time.

Also just look at the numbers. If a woman started college with a body count of, say, 3, for them to get into the 40s after 3 years would mean fucking a new guy once a month every month with no allowance for a LTR or travel. That can absolutely happen, but to say that every post college girl is walking around with 40+ notches is obscene.

I also personally haven’t come across any women who are honest about it. They’ll either underreport if they want an LTR or they’ll overreport if they’re trying to brag. I had an ex who apparently slept with 70+ people, even kept notes on it, but she was also actively going through a self destructive period where she was also going out and heavily drinking, doing drugs and getting involved in really heinous stuff to cope with her horrid mental health and personal tragedies, she also stopped doing that before I met her and apparently after we broke up so now she’s just left with a really, really rough patch in her history, but you wouldn’t know it unless you were told.

Final question is always going to be though: does it fucking matter? I’d rather buy an example of a car that has been properly maintained and serviced but has a bunch of miles on it than a low mileage car with big Altima energy that got abused and mistreated for all of its short but punishing life (we all know a woman who had one partner that absolutely broke her brain).

Hard to say if 40 is cap or not without knowing what type of college you are at, but "only a couple" is definitely cap too at any college. People are not as innocent as you think they are. Sex is common (and so is cheating). Average college graduate is around 10-20 and that's probably me being conservative. Plenty of women are at low counts, but all it takes is 1 hoe to average out a handful of virgins. Most girls are at or above 10 though.

Men aren't having as much sex. It's a small portion of guys having most of the sex which is why STDs are so rampant on college campuses, but more so for women.

Men are actually really risky, labour intensive and emotionally disruptive for women. Especially new men as every time it is a risk of him being faulty in some way....controlling, stalking, sexually violent etc.

Degrees involve time and effort, even more so if a job is needed too.

Only those women who are very sexually motivated indeed would be behaving so as to have a count of forty during a degree course. Since men are thirsty most young women can find men who will have sex on their terms. If FWB solves the matter she recruits a FWB. If a boyfriend solves the matter she recruits a boyfriend. If a fling during the longest holiday period every year works for her that's what she does.

My guess about the disparity .. sex tourism and prostitutes. I don't think prostitutes usually make it to these surveys. A prostitute can rack up a count of forty in a week if she's determined to earn well.

I’m a girl, I went to college, I went clubbing a lot, still didn’t do casual sex or hook ups snd my friends were all the same, we always all went home together.

But the amount of guys at clubs that would grope you, try to kiss you, try to corner you in a bathroom is unreal. It’s a fantasy that if a girl is into “parties” then she’s an automatic hoe when 9/10 times it’s just a pathetic dude making up shit to make himself feel better

in my early 20s a lot of my closest friends were girls. i’d spend most weekends with them at times. they weren’t unattractive and had a number of relationships. ONS basically never happened. i dont recall losing anyone when we were supposed to leave together. 40 is straight up insanity. even for men, you’re getting to a point where it can easily be unsafe. how likely is it that 1/40 turn out to be a stalker?

i think the highest ones were 6 at the time. i went from 0-2 at the same time, and the lowest ones were basically there with me.

Well, I was in college from 2008-2012 and my friends circle all had an average n-count of 1. People are going to believe what they want to believe regardless of the data.

They are not. You are right with your assumptions about promiscuity. Women can't have the numbers your friends claim, without the men having respectively larger body counts. There are not enough men with high body counts, to allow women to be that promiscuous. The math doesn't add up, and no, men are not lying about having lower body counts than they report.

As you said, it's a observation bias. Of course, girls who go clubbing every weekend have higher n-count averages than those who don't. But still, 40 after college is ridiculous to assume for any relevant amount of women. Lifetime sexual partner count of 40+ is reserved for less than 1% of the women.

40 seems like an environment-skewed exaggeration. But there are probably more women with a 10-20 body count than men who care about that would like to hear.

A lot of sex gets excluded from one's personal count because they were drunk at the time, they only did oral/anal, it ended really quickly, or it was bad.

For average women I think 40 is too high. For promiscuous women I 40 is more than fair.

When I was 19, I talked to this girl who was 18. Super hot, didnt know it yet tbh and I only talked to her because her reputation was getting around school.

Average as in mean or average as in median? The mean among heterosexuals is the same for both genders. Basic math. Data on medians generally shows that men are slightly higher than women. But you also have to keep in mind that any data on this topic is imperfect.
