i’m getting my degree in a field that can be pretty stressful and requires a lot of human interaction. interaction is actually the whole point of the job so i’ll probably always be somewhat stressed. my therapist said that i’m a bit of a masochist 😅

it was fast paced and required a lot of interaction. i wanted to work at my local library but they didn’t hire high school students. i really couldn’t handle stress or negative emotions at that age. i’d just spiral and want to kms. i worked in a fast paced coffee shop for a year after i graduated college and i could handle that a lot better because i had matured a lot. now i work for my university at a very slow and laid back job and they are paying my tuition for my master’s degree

i know that you are european and age of consent laws can be different here. but 16 is the minimum age of consent in most states and a lot of states the age of consent is 18. even at 16, with certain age differences the adult could be charged with statutory rape i’m 23 and i can’t imagine being romantically or sexually interested in a 16 year old. i see them as children

i feel a very similar way. it’s really about repeated use and practice. coping skills work the best when you are continually using them while you are feeling well so they are second nature to use when you are spiraling even as someone who is a baby therapist, i don’t really use coping skills very consistently which makes my therapist kind of annoyed with me lol

i’m lucky that i received a pretty large scholarship for my undergrad degree and then happened into a job that is paying the tuition for my masters degree. i still have debt but i think it should be manageable since it will be less than 1 year’s salary once i get a job within my field

i think i remember saying you tend to date alt girls and i think that would be a more common opinion among that demographic there are a lot of problems with the military and i understand why someone wouldn’t want to date someone who was in the service (i’ve even said that i wouldn’t date a military man lol) but there is a lot of nuance to the reasons that a person joins the military. for a lot of people, it is seen as a way out of poverty and the military industrial complex preys on that

there are these things called acupressure rings which are like these rings that have little spikes on them that you can roll up and down your fingers. i tried them in a class once and i really liked them. i’ll probably get some for myself. they aren’t painful but i think the spikes help to focus your attention to the present moment. they also massage your fingers

there are certain touch techniques i’ve heard of like “butterfly tapping” which are something you can do for yourself. i know it’s not the same as being touched by someone else but it could be worth a try. i know there are other variations as well but yes, this whole somatic therapy/EMDR/mind-body stuff is a new wave of therapy that is becoming a lot more popular

they are inconsistent with their discipline. they are prone to giving in to make him be quiet, especially in group settings. he does get spanked but because they have always been so inconsistent, it doesn’t do much. and my philosophy is that is probably doing more harm than good my theory is that he has hyperactive adhd and operational defiant disorder caused by bad parenting. his mom is the facebook conspiracy kind that thinks food dye and whatever else is causing him to be this way

at least from my experience, the people you meet at orientation and the first few days of classes is you will end up associating with all four years. i’m not sure if you are rushing a sorority and i know that experience is a bit different than mine. but just be yourself and you will do great! it’s a great time to reinvent yourself
