What an absolute cesspool of an idea. Make belief bullshit. Wow. Pure dystopia lol

Exercise, healthy lifestyle choices, therapy, journaling, meditation, Chat GPT to make sense of my emotions, healthy friendships, time with family and developing a routine around all of that. All of these things have helped me get through my anxiety and mental health.

Give it time brother. For now, sit with and feel all of the emotions. There will be hurt and sadness. Keep up with the healthy life choices. In time, you will see the green grass.

Yep, and then they leave you instead of communicating what they want from you in a healthy way.

Yeah, the whole separation really messes with trying to move on. Meanwhile, she either has another man waiting, won’t have trouble finding one or, if what she said was true, has no interest in being with anyone and just wants to be alone. Can’t trust a word she says anymore so who knows. Total bullshit imo. I miss physical intimacy so much but don’t want it to be with just anyone either. I just feel stuck.

First of all, thank you for your service. I empathize with a lot of what you said. I’ve had many of the same feelings. One thing that helped me, is to just be a delusional optimist. Since I started thinking that everything is working out for me no matter what, the hard days started getting a lot easier. I had some self esteem issues too, but we gotta remember, that we’re human and we deserve love too. We have lots to offer, and the next person will appreciate it too. Finally, I would ask your fr…

Very similar thing happened to me in January. Moved cities, however to be closer to family, I started a new job went through some stress, she detached slowly without saying anything and then BANG one night she tells me she’s not happy and hasn’t been for the last 6 months (even before we moved apparently). She blamed a lot on me and made me feel like a pile of shit. Reflect honestly on your relationship. I felt like you too. Then I really thought about things and guess what? She wasn’t very good…

I learned that without healthy and consistent communication, the marriage is extremely at risk. I also learned that boundaries and red flags should not be avoided. I’m not at the stage right now to even consider a relationship yet, never mind a second marriage. But to be honest, the first marriage really ruined the idea of marriage to me anyways.

It gets better man, but you’re normal to feel this way at the beginning. Almost the same thing happened to me. You’ll start to see how you were treated and hopefully realize that none of this is all your fault. She’ll make it seem that way, but after some reflection, you will find that she wasn’t perfect by any means. Look through some of the ways people have dealt with their situations in this forum and you will find lots of great ways to deal with your own. My biggest advice for you, seeing ho…

100%. They can only remember the bad. Never the good. Anything to justify them leaving.

Yep it sucks. She broke her vows. Why keep yours? In my opinion vows only matter if both are respected. You’re healing brother, don’t rush it. Let the emotions pour out of you. But remember her for who she is now, not what she was then. She’s not your Juliet now. Godspeed.

Me too man. Here’s what helped : spending time with family, some beers (haven’t drank in 2 weeks I deserve it, also don’t drink at all since the separation other than 4 times… some good tunes and this… I can’t fucking wait until I’m out of the house we shared and needs to sell and have my own house and get out and be my own man for the first time in 10 years. I’m lucky I have no kids but I do have shared dog and that’s going to be hard to deal with… but man, I didn’t deserve this shit and I will…

You would think right? But yet my STBX wanted to separate for this exact reason : we had not much in common anymore and she didn’t see a future with me, want to stay married or have kids. Did a complete 180 in a year. The grounds for divorce are whatever the person who wants a divorce decides them to be. Marriage has lost its significance. It sucks for the people who chose it and saw a future and were willing to fight/change for the better of the marriage. Unfortunately less and less people thes…

I haven’t been separated for as long as you, but I feel some of your troubles. You gotta pick yourself up and get after living a good life, man. One thing someone told me that really resonated with me was this : “nobody’s going to save you. It’s up to you to do the things you gotta do to make yourself happy again. Take risks. Do things you like. Take care of yourself. Try new things. Meet people.” Another thing that helped was I wrote down all of the negatives aspects of my relationship and I lo…

Now my next relationship will be better. That’s the positive outlook.

This is very comforting and reassuring to read. Thank you.

Everything I’m saying is 100% honest. And everything you said, I’m happy to say, is exactly what plan I’ve sort of put together from tons of reading/learning about how to handle this in the best way possible. The dog part is going to be tough, but I’ve sort of accepted it’s very possible. I’m just not ready to let him go right now. I need more time with him. Thanks for your advice though, I appreciate it a lot and it helped me feel more confident in my approach to all of this.

I think everything would be split up the middle. That’s going to be in our separation agreement. But it is something I’ve been thinking about a lot. It’s been a big part of my daily mind scrambles. I just care about him a lot. I hope he wouldn’t resent me… but if I could improve the life of another dog while keeping his happy and healthy, it may be a sacrifice I’ll make.

I’ve thought of this. She won’t give him up. I’m going to split him with her unless I realize it’s stopping me from moving on. Would really add to my grieving if I had to let him go though. I would adopt (save) another dog though so ethically I feel better.

I think she felt pressured as soon as we got married too. Almost all of my friends had a baby in the past 2 years and more are on the way. I think it freaked her out. Not a great feeling when the person you envisioned as the future mother of your children says the things she said.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
