Not quite true. When the whole Asia Argento thing broke we were pretty much split, with half of us ( me included ) calling her a predator, and the other half giving us shit for convicting her without evidence. And she actually did fuck a kid ( her words, which I pointed out to her defenders at the time ). So yah, we have pitchfork mobs, but we also have principled members 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s a question of not checking your privilege as a woman. And it’s why a good amount of men find feminism infuriating. There is no pay gap at minimum wage. I agree that something needs to be done. No. It’s not the kind of study that can do that. It’s not saying that women aren’t intelligent and can’t succeed or excel in STEM. He could have left out the whole not wanting to be rushed part, as I don’t think that has any bearing. But he’s spot on with regards to the effort gap. He’s apologizing because his livelihood is at risk, and I don’t really blame him. Edit: when I had sole custody of my son and he was younger my own income was impacted by the effort gap. As an aside, I had thought there would be a good documentary on the disposability of men with regard to the Rwandan genocide. All I could find was a paper behind a pay wall talking about women perpetrators and agency and how it was detrimental that the world didn’t view women as capable of being equal participants... There are some differences, lots of overlap. It’s not a matter of different brain structures, it has more to do with differences in volume of the different brain structures and which regions activate under identical stimuli. You’re talking about issues related to being a primary custodial parent. IF a man ends up in a similar situation ( full disclosure: I had primary physical custody of my son from the time he was 7 until he moved out and prior to that had 50/50 custody ) he will encounter similar issues ( with less support or understanding mind you ) as a woman does. The push for women in STEM is because males are abandoning post secondary education. This is putting STEM related employment under pressure, as they need people to fill jobs. So rather than fixing the underlying problem, the industries associated with those fields are attempting to attract more candidates from the dominant available pool of college students ( females ).

Understood. I can agree that it’s pseudoscience( much like any discipline that takes scientific method and does it badly to achieve an end ). I just tend to focus on the BAD research methodology as a lot of pseudosciences are falsely categorized in disciplines that, on a whole are actual science ( psychology primarily ).

I wonder if minority males are disproportionately impacted by false rape accusations? Because this story ( a white woman has consensual sex with a black man then cries rape ) is identical to those that usually resulted in lynchings. “Happy wife, happy life” should not be a thing, but it is. One of the hardest lessons I had teaching my boy ( who spent 2 years of high school in an emotionally abusive relationship...that’s about how long it took me to de-program him ) was that he deserved to be respected and to be happy in all his relationships ( friendships as well ). The issue with college isn’t so much admissions related, it starts much earlier than that. Males do better in learning environments where they do things, females are better at learning by being told things. Basically, we begin failing our sons in elementary school and just keep right on rolling. Men just don’t enroll at the same rates they used to. Trade schools, apprenticeships and other outlets are drying up too.
