Schools should not be in be business of doing police work. Crimes should be dealt with by the criminal justice system, not the education system. It’s that simple.

This is one of two things she's done that I don't outright despise, and it's certainly the only one I wholeheartedly support. Everything else (including her stance on education as a whole) is despicable.

I still don't understand why we as a society can see that using a preponderance of evidence in anything is a bad idea. Yet, we still use it in one of the courts that will affect a person's life more than almost any, even criminal in many cases. Which, is family court.

Seriously, why are we still not using innocent until proven guilty when trying to rule on so many would be criminal hearings. I actually wanted a criminal hearing because I knew I would be found innocent as the accusations laid against me were to gain custody, and to gain custody only. She had a violent criminal history at that point. Which, happened to be a DV case where she was arrested for throwing my college chemistry book at me from a good 20 feet off of our balcony down at me. Got me good on the shoulder and arm and since she was fine, they arrested her. She filed and was granted an ex parte restraining order for abuse. Ex parte means you don't get to defend yourself and it is done without your knowledge. Usually the guy will find out after the police show up to kick you out if your house.

I don't doubt this is a major reason for homelessness and crime. Had there been an actual criminal investigation, and not just an ex parte hearing, I don't think things would have turned out nearly as bad as they did. The preponderance of evidence and ex parte orders are hurting a lot of people. Yet, we as a society still haven't woken up to that. I don't get it. We have in every other instance. Why not in family court?
