Get in the gym. Workout my guy. Do pushups, body weight exercises. Go for runs. Anything to keep your mind from spiraling. Then once you do that for a weeks/months and get your mind straight… That’s when you gotta find that dawg in you. The first few times with women are still going to feel like you’re cheating on your STBXW, but man when it clicks…👌👌 Positive vibes to you my dude.

Do not tell her. Don’t even think about it when you’re around her. It’s like we almost want to be like “look what you’re missing out on”. My parents gave me a chunk of my inheritance when she first left to keep me afloat. Once I got on with a decent employer I’ve invested the and now we’re doing really good. They never leave you better dude. Just easier. Let that soak. Keep doing you.

Ok my boy. I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s gonna get heavy at times-it’s been said before but get your ass in the gym. Leave her alone. Do not text her or call her unless it’s about the kids. Reclaim your self worth. If one of your children was in the position what would you say to them?

No use in dwelling in it. Learn from it. Get in the gym. Fly under the radar. Stack your cash.

She’s self sabotaging. She doesn’t feel “enough” for you. Reassure her that she is and both of you need to get into counseling. Don’t ever throw out the word divorce in any sort argument regardless of how big or small unless you intend to follow through with it.

Dude. You’re fucking it all up. 4 kids and a wife who gave you multiple chances to stop? I’d give my left nut to have a chance to fix my family. You got two options. Quit your shit and focus on your marriage (100%) or leave your wife now and start making it up to your kids. Divorce affects them a shit ton.

Brother. Grab her phone. I’ll be sending you positive vibes.

She left the marriage months ago and is probably already seeing someone. That’s why she’s so cool with it. If she can find better…let her. YOU deserve better. I know it’s hard to see that right now especially with all the emotions you’re feeling but trust me you’re better off letting her go as much as that hurts to read.

You got this dude. Focus on yourself first and the rest will come. Get in the gym. I keep preaching this but it truly works. Once you sit and wallow in your feelings for a few months, you’ll know what you are and are not willing to put up with in your next potential partner.

I learned that I had low self worth after we had our baby. Never feeling “enough” for the family. I loved her more than I loved myself and hung on longer than I should have. I learned that it’s ok to set boundaries in all aspects in my life. I learned that my emotional intelligence was low due to trauma response due to her avoidant personality. I did Relearn how to love my kids though. Softer and gentler (even though I still have the occasional fuck up) I know what I bring to the table because I…

We all do and say stupid shit in the heat of moments man. Get your ass to the gym. Work out. Run. Walk. Body exercises. Focus on being the best dad you can be. If she missed you she’s would tell you. The next few weeks will be a rollercoaster. But be better than yesterday.

I think it’s natural for men to hold on to a small glimmer of hope.i describe it as a faraway beacon that blinks in the fog. But brother, why would you want somebody back who caused you so much heartache and pain?

6 months separated and I’m generally happy. It hits me only when I have my girls and my oldest says something about “it was better when we were a family”. But like 90% of the time I’m good.

Listen. This is a hard place to be in. But if the opportunity is there to give your children a normal life. Do it. And do it with vigor. You both have to agree that the old marriage is dead and have to bury all your resentments and animosities towards each other. Both of you need individual and marriage therapy together. Sending you and your kiddos all the positive vibes

This is what I did! I was able to stash away roughly 35k over a period of 4 years from the first time we mentioned divorce. Straight up cash at my brother’s place. Anytime I got a bonus at work or extra money from my side jobs I’d save 3/4 of it in cash. Also started during the pandemic so I was a Little nervous about the shit hitting the fan with the banks.

Yea for sure. I’m open and upfront about it. They’re always going to be my number 1. It’s usually around the 2nd or 3rd date where they realize my schedule is set based off when I get my kids.

I’ve been on a few dates and my standards and expectations are high in regard to how they’ll meet or be around my girls. And here’s what I’ve come up with. Don’t look for love. It’ll find you bro. These women (at-least in my city) either don’t want kids, or want marriage and kids ASAP. I legit was told by a 40 something year old that she didn’t want to fight for my attention and wanted to be the priority after the 3rd date. Paid for lunch and said peace be with you lol. Take your time dude. Focu…

My shit still fresh my boy. lol. Literally going into month 6 of being separated. Gotta wait one year in NC before getting divorced.

Idk man. There is something beautiful about devoting your life to someone. But like I said I doubt I’ll ever do it again. Already got two kids. One biological and one I adopted from my STBXW first marriage. Everything in this life is now “disposable”. Marriage shouldn’t be one of them but we as a society have made it so. I legit did all my divorce shit from my phone.

I like the thought of re-marrying but probably won’t. Don’t want to build someone else up ever again.

Tried. But it was a disaster. Working out schedules and what not, plus one got super needy and possessive. Taking some much needed time for myself man. I think it’s better for your mental health in the long run

Sell it. The freedom and cash is worth it.

Brother. Get counseling first. Exhaust all those avenues before you decide to leave. I keep telling all my buddies that all the best sports players and musicians have several coaches. Why wouldn’t you want a marriage coach?

Grass is greener where you water it brother. Time to focus on yourself. Get in the gym. Get some new hobbies. Eat healthier. We all preach it but it does work. I’m sending you all the positive vibes man cause the next few weeks it’s gonna be a roller coaster for you.
/r/Divorce_Men05/07/24 06:54 PM

Yes. Mental health is the spearhead for everything else health related.
/r/Divorce_Men28/06/24 04:50 PM

Just sell it man. Fuck it. That’s what I’m having to do. Literally listing in a weeks time. Wanted to hold onto it for the same reasons you do. Stability for the kids but I just want this process to be done with. Cut her check and what she does with it idc. 90% chance they blow it in two years anyways bro.

Marriage counseling. Individual therapy. Vacations alone. Date nights. You have to for the sake of your child.
/r/Divorce_Men24/06/24 09:20 PM

You need to exhaust all of your avenues first man. Divorce isn’t anything to joke around with. Trust some of us going through it currently.

I’ve been pretty focused on my health and work. Being the best dad I can be. My friend group is small because I’ve made it that way. It just hit me out of nowhere. Positive vibes to you my dude. Shits no joke.

Nah I’ve been on a few dates with women i know through my industry and a few from highschool that live in my city and it’s not worth it to me. They either want marriage or no kids. And im no more marriage with two kids. One biological and one that should be since I’ve had her since she was 2. One literally told me she couldn’t date someone with kids because she wanted to be the priority and I was like oh hell naw.

I needed this today. I’ve been hella struggling the last few days. Just absolutly sad about how everything came to be. I haven’t felt this lost since the first few days of our separation.

I do have regrets on how we got to this point. I could have avoided “Our big fall out night” if I would have used a little bit of emotional intelligence, but I was super embarrassed about some shit she did a few years ago that got me essentially pushed out of a dope ass job and it made its rounds again in early March through my industry. No one wants to hear “rumors” about your wife especially from people you would aspire to be like and look up too.

Im pushing 9k currently and it’s not even finalized. Lawyers are the worst.

Get therapy. Work out, or just go for walks man. Do push ups when you tend to spiral. That shit works. Don’t trauma bond with the first chick that comes your way. It never works out. This eventually will feel like your new normal.

Im generally happy. Im in the best physical shape that I’ve been. I take my dog on runs. I work out a lot. I eat healthy. I try to plan my day out as best I can. Tv time is at a minimum. When I have my girls, my sole focus is on them and making sure we have solid memorable moments, whether that’s just going out to eat and enjoying each-others company or riding our bikes in our community. This is wild how this popped up today—My stbx just let me know this morning she had to get a second job to afford her lawyer…I won’t lie, I was a little taken back and a bit sad for her. Then I remembered , how joyfully she said that she was happier without me and no desire to reconcile and how she sleeps better blah blah blah, we weren’t even 30 days into our separation and I was making my last ditch and effort to figure out how I was going to move on. I’ve leveled up in every way since she’s l…

Hell nah. Ask for it back. In most states it’s considered a conditional gift/ semi-contract. The ring was given with intention of getting and staying married.
/r/Divorce_Men03/06/24 12:24 AM

I’m seeing this currently in my soon to be 5 year old. Separated 3 months and She’s all over the place emotionally, especially the first few days I get her back. My middle schooler is a different story. Completely emotionally avoidant( just like her mom). I find solace in knowing that I’m providing them both with the structure they need when they’re with me and have made my a house a safe place for validating feelings.
/r/Divorce_Men03/06/24 12:14 AM

Facts. Makes it even harder if the person you’re seeing is also co-parenting. Juggling work and kid schedules it’s near impossible to find a day together. Not to mention the jealous ass ex partner making shit chaotic.

For sure, thanks man!

It’s because no one wants to deal with the healing aspect of divorce. It’s hard shit, it can literally drive you crazy. Focus on yourself. Hit the gym. Run. Get a good group of friends (chicks too) you can just chill with. And in 8-12 months brother you’ll be a new man.
/r/Divorce_Men18/05/24 12:53 AM

Listen dude, from my experience it opens up a whole another can of shit. From one end you like the attention you get from all these single beautiful women, especially if you start taking care of your self physically. It’s the shit you been missing from your marriage. Being chased and wanted again. From the other end, it’s fucking weird and brings up some crazy emotions. You’re getting your physical needs met but your emotional ones are still in survival mode. They’ll be a lot of resentment towar…

Listen dude. First and foremost. Get to the gym. Workout.i know we all say this but there’s power in it. Secondly, don’t look for another relationship just yet. Learn to be comfortable with yourself for a few months. Practice manifestation. Think of what you want your new life to be and what you would like in your next relationship and it will come to you. Peace be with you bro.

I struggle with the thought of would i take her back if she asked me? Knowing that shes already been on dates with a new guy? And they’re probably texting like crazy, setting up plans to meet when i have our kids this week and After causing a heart ache where i didn’t eat for 5 days? i would never want anyone else to experience? Nah bro, time to move on.

You got to find your purpose outside of the marriage now brother. Keep focusing on your self, mentally and physically, even spiritually if you’re inclined. Make sure you’re the best dad you can be when you have the kids. Don’t take any frustration out on them, it’s easy to do when your mind starts to spiral. You got this. 💪🏽

Im recently separated.Shit hits me in waves. Anger/sadness/contempt with the situation. But watching my girls easter egg hunt yesterday…it kinda hit me like a brick wall, that this is our new normal. Ive been working out twice a day for the last month to keep my mind busy.

In NC. $250 for phone consult. $1500-2000 separation agreement, then another 2k for final divorce docs, if its not contested.

Wtf would i need more time away? We had plenty of time away for a marriage. Weekend trips apart to see our fam, she had girls trips with her sisters etc. work functions -whatever. The normal amount i would guess. Gtfo with that. I just learned about attachment styles through my therapist, and a-lot of our cycle was not knowing how to deal with another’s attachment. I pushed while she pulled.

Nah in NC we have to be separated a year before filing. I don’t want to get divorced but our relationship has become toxic.

I’ll probably sell the house once the year of separation is up (NC). I wanted my kids to have something familiar to come home too.
