I think she will be better off with mum out of her life, and I'm 99.999% certain that this is how it will end up, since her mum seems to be running a replay of her own family history. I'm pretty sure that within 3 months of mum and daughter moving into their new home she'll be living with me.

I haven't neglected her at all, I've been a very good father. That's why, having not seen her for 3 or 4 weeks, and having to constantly chase her to get to spend some time with her - it's a pisser when you get that kind of response.

Yeah, you could be right. Funnily enough this behaviour from the daughter has only started since the wife discovered she'd be paying me child support since both kids wanted to live with me. Now suddenly the daughter will be living with mom, and the son with me. Follow the money eh?

Thanks - I agree, her mom also works weird shifts so she's going to be in the house alone for hours at a time, days at a time - once she's lonely and the drama starts I think the shit will hit the fan. One thing I have been reallyworried about is that when I'm not there for the ex to explode at, she'll do it to the daughter - that's what her mom did to her, in fact her mom threw her out when she was 16. Nice family really.

Thanks, I think you're right, it is all learned behaviour. The ex's dad told me I was crazy for marrying her (can you believe that!) because the whole family are a big matriarchy who treat men like shit - he said his wifes mother (so the ex's grandmother) used to talk to her husband like he was something she'd trodden in, and loved to humiliate him in front of other people.

This was kind of my thinking - instead of acting how she thought I woud - i.e. like a pussy, I've done the complete opposite and gone nuclear, so that she learns she can't behave like that, because there will be consequences - thanks for the reply.

Easy to say, but it doesn't matter if it's your daughter or someone else, if they make your life hell then sometimes you need to cut ties for your own sanity. I don't know if you can imagine what it's like to have someone criticising you, angry at you, nit picking everything you do, even screaming and swearing at you every day - it drives you to the brink.
