I ended up throwing my own baby shower. My mom and sister said they would do it but unsurprisingly, they wouldn't do anything to prepare. I had my in-laws and friends asking constantly when the baby shower was. I was so embarrassed! 😔

Honestly, and I may sound a bit crazy but I think it comes down is you can't tax a stay at home parent. In the eyes of a state loving "individual", it's wasted labor.

Wow! I can't go a day on reddit without seeing something done by reddit mods or admins that makes me question coming back.

Thank you!! I spent most of 2016 pregnant and I couldn't even finish reading the dang post when she mentioned wearing heels. Motherhood is going to be a nasty shock for her. Good thing she can outsource to daycare.

Maternity clothes still 😔 Everytime I eat at a deficit, my milk supply drops. And my husband and I are adamant about breastfeeding. I miss pretty clothes

I still have a newborn so I'm still in "survival mode". What I mean by that is that I'm focusing 100% on my baby and me. Once he's a bit older, I'll start serving my husband. But right now, he insists to ignore him and focus on our kid. Wake up from 5a to 7a. Feed, change, and put Babe in the bouncer so he can practice grabbing his favorite toy. Eat oatmeal and drink coffee. Load dishwasher while oatmeal and coffee are being made. Load of a laundry. Tummy time and babble time with Babe. Change, …

Husband bought me a new phone without having asked to! My son has been napping for 1.5 hours without having me hold him. World record! For this healthy community! I'm so grateful there's a place that I can go where I won't be ridiculed for being a stay-at-home mother. :)

I'm back after having a baby 6 weeks ago! His sleep has finally gotten into what you can almost call a routine. So I have time to catch up on internet and some light chores! I'm excited to see what I've been missing the last six weeks. :D

Husband actually introduced me to Stefan quite a few years ago. He has quite a few quality videos on women and relationships. Husband and I are huge fans of his parenting videos. :)

Haha that's a pretty accurate! I found out today (I got the cutest u/s pictures! :D) that he's head down and was turning around throughout the whole appointment. He was cracking up the tech with his antics!

The bad - I was hospitalized this last weekend with threatened pre-term labor. Contractions that wouldn't stop (and likely won't until LO makes his presence). I got two steroid shots and cried like a baby. Those hurt! Just now coming off bed rest... The good - Husband has been working and doing light household chores while I bed rest without complaint. Insisting that I'm actually still doing too much to be considered "bed rest". I'm so grateful for how much he cares for me and his son. I have ne…

I'm also having a boy! And he's a low rider, as I tell my husband. He feels like he could fall out at any moment!

This is my jam!! I love meal planning and grocery budgeting. It's a full on "Challenge Accepted" moment every week for me, much to my husband's amusement. I cook a lot of meat, some vegetables, and minimal carbohydrates. We were on Keto for two years before I got pregnant and I'm returning back to a low carbohydrate lifestyle since getting the fetus beetus. So our tastes naturally lean to meat and veggies. Every week I ask husband if there is something he's craving. There usually isn't but somet…

On YouTube, I watch J House Vlogs. She's a stay-at-home mother who homeschools her 4 children. He works-from-home as a lawyer consultant(?) and is very involved in raising his children. He is a strong fatherhead figure for their boys. They're just lovely, lovely people. I also watch Ellie + Jared. They are younger and...louder but a fairly traditional family with good values. Their siblings also vlog but frankly, I don't watch them so I couldn't say the quality of their videos. 8 Passengers and …

I recently found She's In Her Apron! I love her organizing tips and tricks. Definitely would recommend! I'm going to check out the rest. Thanks!

Good: I successfully negotiated working on my day off by having another shift covered. Usually, I'm quite the push over at work but Husband has been encouraging me to stand up to my boss. Almost 7 months pregnant, I don't need the extra stress of more work hours! (Especially retail) Bad: I haven't been the most...emotionally consistent wife this week. Lots of tears over episodes of Voyager that Husband and I binge together. I've caught myself snapping at my husband, feeling annoyed at FIL...apol…

Your husband is so sweet! I still need to go out shooting. I, personally, don't feel comfortable with a gun because of my lack of experience. But my husband and BIL love shooting and love gun safety. It's their "man time".

I kid you not, I originally typed, "Thank goodness for dogs and guns!" but I'm so used to progressive hysteria about guns that I removed it out of habit!

Ever since we lost our wedding rings (clearly we value possessions /s), I've taken to wearing a necklace he picked out and gave me for either Valentine's Day or my birthday. Every day, all day. People compliment it all the time. <3 Also, this is a bit weird, our car. I only recently learned how to drive. He taught and practiced with me every day. In a manual, no less. Every time I downshift instead of braking, I think of him and giggle. He loves downshifting. Always goes on about saving on the b…

I only freaked out once when the dog barked and turned on every freaking light in the house at 3am - improvement from last time :) I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who turns into the biggest wimp when SO isn't around. Thank goodness for dogs! ;)

I'm also fairly up North! As it's our first year, we're kind of at a loss of what to do with our garden to prepare for a Fall harvest. Especially since we did not think about it at all while planning in the Spring and it's too late for squashes. :( We transplanted lettuce and spinach back in May, I believe. We had it going for a long time before they began to bolt. The goat, however, loved the bolted spinach the best. Currently, we've got cucumbers, green beans, zucchini, bell peppers, too many …

So I just wrote a novel on how I first knew I was in love with Husband. For brevity sake, I've condensed it to this: I don't know when I first knew I was in love with Husband. It's been over 10 years and all our memories never come in chronological order for me. It feels like I knew the second I saw him. The Good: We had our prenatal appointment this week. And I haven't gained any more weight! Wahoo! That's fantastic because I really gained too much at the end of the first trimester/beginning of…

I'm so excited to hear other RPW have gardens! This is our first year and we are up to our ears in zucchini! What do you have all planted, if you don't mind me asking! :)

Good: I'm finally back on a semi-regular cooking schedule! Being pregnant has definitely set back quite a few things onto the back burner. Including cooking and cleaning, a passion of mine! But with the 2nd trimester energy arriving, I'm so glad I can go back to serving my husband <3 Bad: MIL came for a visit and made some comments about the state of the house, kept dropping hints about taking our son for visits, other maternal power struggles, etc. I took it rather personally. I probably sat on…

Hello! I've been quite a lurker on my regular account. Due to obvious reasons, I've created this throwaway to actively begin participating! I've been with my husband for 10 years. Married for five. We're expecting our first child in January! With all the hustle and bustle of our new bundle of joy, I really wanted to buckle down and focus on building the best foundation I can. My current goals is to continue eating healthy, staying disciplined with daily plans, and of course, serving my husband. …
