It's the problem of all those band-aid techniques. All that self improvement noise IS important exactly for situations like this, so you can remain cool and normal even if you like someone very much. Other than that, I guess you also outgrow it by time with experience. Just remember you're all human.

Yeah. Why should you greet only 5 random people? What makes them special? Who chooses them? Is the person now subconsciously going to think "oh, this one seems too angry, I might skip her... oh that one seems sad, maybe some other... Ok, I'll greet that grandma over there"? Get it? The whole idea reeks of lack of social intelligence. Instead of encouraging people to create engaging, productive and wholesome starts, it encourages people to say two words and call it a day. Yeah, you might say it d…

I'm a bit on a hairy side so I speak from this perspective. Legs? No. Hairy, strong legs, my trademark, sorry :P Chest/Stomach? Only if you're going for the lean model washboard abs look, personally I don't shave this. Armpits? Regular trim, shaving completely feels horrible in summer. Penis/Balls/Abdomen? Trim. Yeah, most would go clean, but I go trimmed and so far, so good. Ass? Crack = no, cheeks = probably, yeah. Arms? a few overlong stray hairs on my shoulders get taken care of quickly. Eye…

I understand it all, not trying to belittle someone's problems. However, there is a big difference between being very nervous with girls and being very nervous to socialise at all. The former need a bit of guidance, while the latter need a complete overhaul on their thinking. It's all cool tho, I understand how people can feel like that. It just bothers me that, again, truly lost and hurt people will come to this sub again and again to try and fix their problems using women, which just won't wor…

No mate, manners is greeting someone you interact with in some way. Greeting while entering a store. A bus. Greeting your coworkers, cleaning lady on your campus, teachers in your college/school. Notice how it's all places of work or service. You don't go around greeting people on street if you don't know them. That's fucking mental. Calculate how many people you'd have to greet on your way to work and you'd constantly be yapping good mornings to everyone, non-stop. Greeting your neighbours in a…

Again - who is going to benefit in a relationship where you are too scared to speak to strangers? That is just pointless. Yeah, you can improve in all aspects but some things come first. If you have a broken leg and arm, you shouldn't really go lifting 150 kg until you fix that thing, unless you want something fucked up good. Same thing - if you have depression or fear of people, you shouldn't really bandaid-fix it with a relationship unless you want some nice mental issues.

That's a serious mental and emotional problem then. And would you go around seducing women while having this kind of problems? Or take advice on seducing women while you are an emotional wreck? Who benefits here, really?

It's not a good way to lose the anxiety. You aren't doing yourself or anyone a favor if you just say "morning" to someone insincerely. Exposure therapy can and should be done much, much better than this. This is nothing. Not even a bare minimum of basic human socialising.
/r/seduction16/05/18 05:50 PM

Anywhere. But they don't say "good morning" to everyone passing by, that's just pointless. I pass by hundreds of people daily, should I greet each one with "good morning"? What exactly is the thought behind that?
/r/seduction16/05/18 04:18 PM

And what will this accomplish? You said "Good morning". That's nothing. Actually, it's even worse if you love in a culture where this is not ordinary. In my country, you don't just say good morning to random people. It's just stupid.

That's how it goes when you live as a man. You catch a lot of shit, but it's really only a blessing in disguise - you may get rejected, but you're always one step ahead of most afraid females and males. You get to choose your own battles. You see what you want and try to get it, if you fail, you know you can do better in future. I just had a conversation with my female friend yesterday - she said she never approaches men because she thinks the man should be the initiator. I don't really agree wi…

Almost EXACTLY the same thing here. I did it like you, didn't go for it but to be honest, I wasn't really feeling it at the moment (that tension, until later when it's too late now). But still, I don't kick myself over it. You know why? Stop being hard on yourself. You made a mistake. So fucking what. If she lost interest over something small like a kiss, then she shouldn't even be part of your worries. Too much toetipping and hesitating for what, essentially? Is she some kind of a referee to ev…

Move on for your own sake, and honestly, try to behave less needy in future. Don't dwell on this even a MINUTE longer.

The best answer, IMO, would be something like "No problem, let me know if/when you are free if you want to catch a drink/lunch/whatever". With this you express interest without being needy at all. She knows she's invited and has no pressure for a certain date. Send that and forget about her completely, do something else or try dating more girls. I know you'd like to invite her to that event right away, but I recommend you not to do it. If she likes you, she will put herself out for you. You don'…

Well, wait for her response. If she can't or won't, it's up to you to estimate if it's worth trying again some other time. But in general, you do your own thing, invite her along and if she comes, great, if not, that's great as well.

If she likes you, you won't have to navigate through this silly sea of bullshit. It sounds rough but it's true. Ask her on a specific date and time, if she counter offers you are okay. If she doesn't, you can ask again later, but anything more than that is just pointless. Believe me, you will KNOW when she's attracted to you and won't need to play these stupid games.

Well ofcourse, that's basics of confidence. But if I realize the same, I also realize we both could find someone better at any given moment. What's the point of me sticking together then? At some point, some girls will think about being exclusive. This is where you don't approach it the same way. I can play both ways because it both suits me - I look after my own interest first. But honestly, I don't think many people would feel okay woth being exclusive and still playing on the side. Far too po…

Yeah, but giving advice on assumption that women will eventually betray you in some way or another isn't the healthiest approach. Sure, men and women are equally shitty, we cheat, lie, manipulate etc. But you shouldn't really think like that, it builds anxiety and distrust. It destroys comfort. It's a fine line between acting like a non-caring specimen and someone who is weighted by the fact he's replacable in every way. Even if it is true, that really shouldn't be something to care about. Be wh…

I don't even enter any "serious" relationships any more. That seemed cool when I was 17, today I don't even think about settling early for someone. I'm young, can have sex, can have fun, enjoy girl's company, do things I want etc. There's no need or wish for something like a relationship yet, maybe when I decide to have kids. Yeah, I have a bit similar look to yours on "what can you offer in a relationship" and most of the girls I've met don't meet that criteria. Still doesn't mean they're all f…

Yet another post where women are represented as - essentially - mentally challenged, insane, flakey, emotional vampires that will cheat on you if they get even a tiny bit distracted. Stop with this narrative. This is actually useful to avoid women like that, but if you honestly believe that entering a relationship includes all of this, then you are deluded. There's a bunch of completely normal, healthy women. Why the fuck would you even agree to be with someone like this anyways?

Personally, I'd recommend everyone to be a bit "gamey" when doing a first approach and establishing a connection. Not necessary, but also no need to be brutally direct from the very start. You don't want to dump everything on a person instantly, but social intelligence and a bit of calibration goes a long way. However, first dates, advancing relationships? Mark Manson approach, absolutely, 100%. Fuck all the noise - be real. It's easy to be fake. Do what you want and get stuff you want - you'll …

You choose what "games" you want to play, in the end. If you find it clashes with your identity, interests or values, you can easily just choose not to play.

Disagree on one thing, most girls don't know shit. You can be fake and they wouldn't even know most of the time. They're not magical mind readers. But of course, for those who aren't comfortable with themselves - they'll be obvious on their faking. Now it's just on you if you want to behave like yourself or fake your way into a one night stand or quick lay or something.

Superficial stuff, trying to force anyone to like you, chasing only one particular girl, worrying about things you can't control, being afraid of stupid things... It's all about you in the end, if she likes you, you'll notice that very easily - and won't need to exactly say this and that.

You'd see more of this stuff if people weren't so freaking inept in general. How do you give advice to someone who is insecure, afraid of himself and others, socially awkward, lazy, complex-ridden chump? I was like that before, what opener or "tactic" would have helped me? On the other side, some people who give the type of advice you seek, do it absolutely shitty. No, there's no perfect "opener line" and stuff, calibration is unheard of here, sometimes.

You'll have to learn to have fun and be relaxed without alcohol. That simply includes going out in those venues and not drinking. I used to drink before, but it only slowed me down. Yeah, crazy, the alcohol made me more boring, I'd just be for chilling and not dancing. But since I quit, I have better health, less weight, more money, no hangovers and complete lucidity.

This is true, but if someone is lacking in social dynamics skills, they would be much better following the basic "rules" built on a healthy base. The logistics of someone "pulling a girl who's with 3 girls constantly" is bollocks 90% of the time - it adds very little value, advocates for a very specific set of instructions for a very specific scenario. Then we wonder why people get frustrated and lost? A much better advice would be something like "To talk to women, you can also talk about hobbie…

Yeah, the correlation - causation thing drives me insane! But there was a time when I also thought I figured it all out after a few sucessful dates. Oh boy how I was wrong. Just didn't have the capacity to grow at the time.

That's a whole another problem. People most probably get carried away with their own personal agendas and ideas.

You can't go living with that look on life any longer. It's pointless. So what, she rejects you for lack of money - would you be with someone like that in the first place? Wasting time is subjective. Being awkward a bit is also fine. She's not your quality supervisor - you can have faults, stop beating yourself up. It's a self confidence problem indeed.

What are you scared of, exactly? Is she going to rip your dick out with her teeth? Humiliate you in public? Unless you have hardcore anxiety, you have some other problem. You don't fear going out with your friends, do you?

This works if you are emotionally intelligent and mature. However, if you're not, it's best just to move on. If you still cling to the idea of someone "unflaking" you, you might be in scarcity mentality. With time, you learn which women are worth contacting again.

Well, it's no big deal - you have a confirmation that this girl is not really worth any serious effort. To be honest, I personally don't like attention seeking girls so I'd never try anything above emotionless sex if you really have the hots for her. But you do your thing, ofc. Just want to say, if you consider this kind of girl as something more than a quick fling, I can't really give any solid advice. No problems mate. As you can see, there's not much you can do here except being silly. You already set a fun, no-strings-attached tone. Who knows, you might end up with a lay. If you continue with banter, you can always go for a drink together. Worst case scenario, she refuses - you ain't got anything to lose.

You did alright. Very mature, too - especially when you consider she's older than you and acts immature. Don't worry, you will find someone else. Don't bother with this girl any more. It's just pointless to build a house on such a shaky foundation. If you think about her a lot and the loneliness creeps up, understand it's just the habit and biology that's making you feel blue. As you can see, you are probably capable of making a girl feel good - so find someone who will appreciate it more. Move …

Yes, so? If a woman is always looking for someone "better", you need to define what exactly is better. In today's world, you have most of your basic needs covered and more. Unless you are a gold digger or something similar, throwing away old partners for slightly richer/funnier/smarter isn't really cool.

This again? Animal instincts, primal urges, alpha traits? Do you people really still think this way? Of course, we're part animal, but we have moved fucking beyond. If everything was like this, we'd still be in the cave hitting each others with clubs.

Don't worry mate, cold approaching is still good. Think about it, if you approached a girl in the club, don't you think your intent is much clearer? Yep, it's a relaxed atmosphere, you get the comfort of alcohol, music etc. The downside to that - you're not the only one who's gonna approach that girl. Night game is cool, but ultimately it's almost easier than day game. This allows many people to participate and therefore, a girl might get tired of it and view you as just another guy that night. …

If you like drinking, go ahead. If you enjoy getting shitfaced, go ahead. Just be aware that you (probably, eh) won't be drunk afterwards if your interaction with a girl continues. Personally, I stopped drinking because the alcohol actually slowed me down and got me lazy, so I'd just buzz around, chill and never approach anything because I was perfectly content. Plus, it's healthier this way.

You might be afraid of being perceived as a boring person. If you aren't, then it's something else I don't know, lol. Anyways, just realize most of the people are also boring. That is subjective. I find most of the usual stuff boring, but to someone else it might be the craziest thing ever and it elevates their opinion of you by 150%. For example, I play guitar for about 7 years or so. I'm still fucking terrible at it. Nowhere near good as I should be. Don't like to talk much about it, but I own…

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. But of course, you can also embrace it. I'm pretty bipolar when it comes to this question - sometimes I hate the stupid games, sometimes I love playing them because I finally understand the "rules". You gotta understand that you'll probably never get direct, "logical" feedback from 90% of girls. This is why you take action. By taking action, you're bound to get some reaction. But do you play their stupid games or just be a direct, rude "asshole"? No. You wal…

True, being a self-pity chump isn't helping with the problem, I've been there. My oneitis was terrible because I barely spoke to the girl. Couldn't know anything about her as a person. Today, it's just hilarious how dumb I was. Today, it's a huge improvement over that time. Men are often very logical, which can be detrimental to the game - but here, it helps. Over time, as you grow up, you realize just how much it doesn't make sense to have oneitis. It's irrational, but it's okay, it passes.
/r/seduction24/11/17 11:17 PM

After some time, it will pass away completely. Like everything fades away, this will fade as well. If you're currently in a bad oneitis situation, realize you will probably meet hundreds of women in future and statistically speaking, you'll come across even better ones. After a few failures it doesn't even hurt any more.

Mate, EVERYTHING goes if you go for it. If you don't go, then it doesn't, lol. It's pretty binary. 1 or 0. Either way, you have to go and talk to her regardless of your "abilities". And you know which option is obviously better.

Why don't you date ugly people then? If you're so bad, then you won't have a problem with that, right? But you probably want what's hot and sexy right? Well, I'll say you do. Guess what - most of the people want the same. You don't even realize how much lucky you are to be an ugly man, IF you are really ugly (that's not up to me to say). Imagine if you were an ugly woman. I bet men have it easier here. Women see past looks far better than we do - I've seen more shallow men that judge exclusively…

As much as it sounds corny, time heals all wounds. It's absolutely correct. I had times where my main thoughts were "Damn, I'll never find someone as hot/smart/funny as her" and I'd go crazy over the whole thing. But guess what? I did find someone. And then that someone - rejected me again. And so on. After some time, you start to understand it was just background noise of your hurt ego. 1) Yeah, social skills are interesting and important. As much as I think I'm good at it, one day you realise you could be a looooot better. Emotion giving? Tough one, but worth it. 2) Eh, status. Everyone wants it. Won't lie, me too. But I'm content where I am right now, as a 21 year old student, kinda hard to be much more. That's what you do in meantime, to reach higher status. Wow, nice explanation. About the sources of advice; it'd be from all kind of people. Metaphorically, I got financial advice from billionaires, Wall Street employees, gold-diggers and hobos. Some of them gave the same advice. That was very confusing sometimes. I'd like to look at it scientifically, but this ain't no science and there's no hard truths. Or are there?

That's one of the best advice - integrating it into your personality. Sometimes it gets confusing tho. I tried to integrate so much stuff and ended up in some funny situations - certain girls called me jumpy, energetic and quick-to-become-angry/nervous, and there are some that found me chill, lazy and stuff. Because I tried out different stuff on different girls and it all made sense to me, lol. I was pretty comfortable in each situation, almost like I'm bipolar haha.

True, it's my big fault, I like to analyse people. It's not about figuring it out, tho. You can learn about yourself from other people, too. Sometimes it's fun to see what someone else is thinking.

You're right. It seems we get carried away sometimes, mistaking loose guidelines as strict truths and rules. I'll admit it's true for me, you get used to certain type of situations and... fall in a routine. It started working for me when I read all the stuff here, realised I could be interpreted by girls in a million ways I can't affect, so it's pretty much the same shit whatever I do. That's it - calibration. What I always wanted to master, lol. My frequent problem was (and still is, to some extent) lack of calibration. I'm pretty serious when alone with myself, but I joke around like a clown all the time with more people present. I would tease, banter and be more sexual, but lacked in any kind of comfort creation. And opposite, when I was cool and emotionally connected, I was about as attractive as a brick. All the balance and fine-tuning seems to translate on everything in …

I know, I didn't want any hard rules - that'd be rigid and extremely boring. I agree on focusing on yourself, but then again - I turn almost selfish sometimes if I always cater to myself. It pleases me to please other people, make them laugh etc. I know what I want from women and that's okay for me, if they won't cooperate, it's all fine. No big deal. I do admit the sex is what makes me a bit more shallow at times, so that was why I deviated from my frame sometimes...

That's great thinking. I also always take everything with a grain of salt. And normally, filter the advice so it fits into my society and culture (people aren't the same in different parts of world). I hope I'll reach your levels of not giving a fuck, lol. I definitely noticed it increases just by getting older, but there's still a lot of life to do.
/r/seduction05/08/17 09:58 PM

Great summary. People are indeed very different. It's just that we maybe fall into a trap of categorising everything. That includes people. You meet a certain number of similar women, almost as if they're labelled in some way, begin to notice some "guaranteed" routines and you start to generalise. I'm still divided on this, some basic stuff can be generalised, some stuff can't. That's why all the advice sometimes confuses me.

That's true, but I don't think it was always good. When I was less experienced and more needy, I would get angry over a rejection instantly. I had wanted to make them see what they lost, but today, I realise it was extremely dumb and just proceed onto better stuff. Back then I did some stupid stuff so it's easy to see I was a fool, but now the lines get blurrier and my (possible) "mistakes" aren't so major - still, there's some will to reveal even the slightest "mistakes", if you get me.
