In life, I am focused mostly on wealth building now, which is why I'm about to start my second startup company. We'll see what happens :) A start-up in Japan? Is that going to be especially challenging because you're a foreigner?

In my journal (really just a digital notebook), I have one section that is just a big list of compliments. For example, occurrences of women hitting on me, getting a sincere compliment about my looks, etc. It really adds up when you put it into a list. I did this because I realized I would sometimes spontaneously remember a compliment or situation (e.g., a girl trying to pick me up), and then kind of write it off as a freak occurrence. I decided to write it down as evidence to counter self-doubt…

After reading your response and others, I'm starting to soften up on how much I disklike the jargon. Still, I think there is a difference between seduction and the examples you provided (e.g., fitness). No matter how much fitness jargon you use, it won't impede your quest to get fit. Seduction, on the other hand revolves around communication and social skills. In the pursuit of better social skills, guys can run the risk of becoming more socially weird. Have you met any weird community guys? I'v…

Yeah, I have the same concern. I feel like it would be a waste unless I knew the people I'm looking at are within a short radius. I also thought the images moved a little fast. Good concept, and congrats on getting a functioning site up and running. The concept reminds me of POF's "Meet me" feature (I think that's what it's called).

Speaking of day game, I saw this on Craigslist (not that I read Missed Connections) and think it's someone with some PUA knowledge: http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/mis/2269364265.html

I'm aware of how you can "catch" state from another. I used to be nervous, fidgety type, and I realized that I was making other people nervous. I've learned to stop that. I'm very empathetic by nature, and feel that I'm perceptive when it comes to reading the energy of others. But I don't merge with the energy of groups well. For example, I've never had the experience of melting in with a crowd at a concert or a ball game -- y'know, yelling and cheering or rocking out with everyone. For some rea…

As someone who has tested STRONGLY towards the introvert side of the scale, this post was of great interest to me. Introducing the General and his Aide metaphor expanded my understanding of the differences between introverts & extroverts. The key point I took from the passage was: If people do not realize that there is a General in the tent who far outranks the Aide...It leads...to an underestimation of the introvert's abilities... So as BLuefack said, extroverts will tend to have the advantage …

The subheadings help a great deal. As does putting the book passage in quoted text, etc. Thanks!

I feel that my posture is pretty good, and I make the most of my 5'10.5 inches. I was once flattered in a class when the teacher singled me out as the tallest guy in the room (it was a language class, so the teacher was demonstrating grammar or something), when there was a couple taller guys. Most guys lie about their height by a little (esp. on online dating sites, which was proved by a comparison of OKCupid members' stats to those of the general population). I could probably claim to be 6 foot…

Perhaps 60 Years Of Challenge? It certainly fits in with his philosophy.

I think if you read some of the good material, you'll realize that it doesn't amount to learning a bunch of techniques and tricking women (personally, I like 60 Years of Challenge's stuff). However, if you watch The Pickup Artist on VH1, you might be convinced that it IS just a bunch of tricks. If you're interested in getting some insight into male/female dynamics, start reading and testing. If you don't want to make that a personal focus of yours, it's no biggie, and you'll probably find a good…

Women will forgive you for being too aggressive, but they won't forgive you for being too timid. That's a good one :)

What's sad is that I still think back with some embarrassment the occasions when I was in Japan and I made a fool out of myself by messing up the language. I was there for a little over a year. I certainly noticed that the people more willing to make mistakes progress faster.

You can send the pdfs to yourself and then just open them via email. That way, they will just open in Safari, and go back to that window when you want to continue reading. I mean, I doubt someone will check all of your open Safari windows. You can also put the pdfs in iBooks. There are a few apps that hide media (mostly for porn), but they're probably more trouble than they're worth. I have a cool app that streams movies and mp3s from my computer, but you have to be within range of your wireless…

I'm planning on signing up for another class. I've taken two so far (once a week for 10 weeks or so), and I still have no idea what I'm doing. The first I took alone, which was fine, because most of the class didn't have a partner. The second time I went with a partner, which was good because the whole class was partnered up (it would have sucked to be the odd man out). It's a little confusing, because there are different schools of thought on which beat you should start on. The two classes I to…

You get to determine what makes the night successful. Is it just having the balls to go out alone? Is it talking to at least one stranger? Is it approaching a cute girl? I went out alone the other night, and I considered it a victory, despite the fact that nothing too interesting happened. I'm not saying you shouldn't push yourself, but don't be too hard on yourself. If you were a pussy, you wouldn't have had the balls to go out alone. James Bond probably felt awkward the first time he went to a…

The best part is that you met on V-Day, so if it becomes serious, you get to celebrate two occasions on one day. If you get married, you should do it on V-Day, so as to further consolidate all of the romantic dates. Now if only it was also her birthday. BTW, that was a hugely ballsy move. When I read it, a voice in the back of my head says, "That would be too difficult for you to do, MikeX01." I'm trying to shut that voice down. Anyway, great job.

I agree. I'm sure there are cool guys in the lair, but I don't want to have to work hard to find them (or even associate myself with something called a "lair," unless I want to get involved in the S&M or D&D communities). How about just going out with your normal social group? Well, I'm trying to build my social group back up. When I'm in a relationship, I tend to get lazy and stop meeting with friends as much. Now that I'm out of my LTR, I don't have that many people to go out with. I also don'…

You're not interested in communicating with a woman if she's not into you sexually? I think it's healthy and important to have female friends.

Yes, S. Koreans are much more lively than Japanese, generally speaking. I saw more fights in S. Korea in 1 week than I did for an entire year in Japan.

I skew towards Asians as far as my personal tastes, but I agree that E. European look amazing.

I don't know a lot about the culture, but my last name is Czech, and my ancestors come from E. Europe.

Thank you for the interesting write-up. Do they look down on Americans for having bad style?

I never considered myself a south of the equator kind of guy - I always assumed I'd go to E. Europe or something (I have E. European ancestry). However, I'm considering Costa Rica and other destinations.

That's funny that you say that about IDF chicks, because I was literally just reading an article about picking up Israeli girls. I'm Jewish (non-practicing), and was considering visiting Israel. Re: Croatian girls, I heard form a Crotatian guy that they're beautiful, just as you said.

I only read the tldr and half the text, but I just wanted to say that I was 19 before my 1st kiss freshman year of college, and then it was probably about another year before my second. I realize that's a bit younger than you, but like you, I felt kind of ashamed by my lack of experience. It really means so little, and you don't have to feel like everyone is somehow ahead of you. There are people that have kissed and had sex with tons of people, but often it just means they were drunk enough to …

Regarding #2, I cringe when someone replies with a hypothetical dialogue that should have been. I had friends in the community that always wanted to roleplay dialogue and what they would say for approaches, and I was like, "No thank you."

I'm an intermediate level speaker, having lived there for about a year. I used to be quite conversational, but it's been a long time. It comes more slowly than going from English to, say, Spanish, French or German, but it's not insurmountable. I met many fluent speakers of Japanese as a second language. The Tokyo Seddit guys will have more to say about this, but it seems to me that it often takes approx 2 years to become relatively fluent in speaking (literacy is a whole different story). Fortun…

I lived with a Japanese family in Japan (I'm Caucasian), and though the grandmother was very accepting of me, my host-mother said that many older Japanese view non-Japanese as sub-human, or like animals :).

Try dating online. OkCupid, etc. Takes some of the initial performance concerns off of you. I've done a lot of online dating, and I have no problem with that. I met my last gf online. I had to teach myself to stop doing nervous things on dates (bouncing my leg or fidgeting), and I eventually got to a point where I felt and appeared very relaxed. In fact, I'm almost always much more relaxed than my date. It's just approaching (or other adrenaline-inducing activities) that keep me from maintaining…

I can't offer you any specific advice on finding escorts. I've never hired an escort, but I sure have met a lot of women online, including Craigslist (though I think Craigslist has gone to hell over the last couple of years). Some haven't been great-looking, and others have. At the time, I was kinda acting out, after getting out of a restrictive relationship. I'm sure there are some women online who wouldn't mind if you told them you're a virgin, as long as you don't beg or do other unattractive…

Hey Cachando - I'm jealous that you live in (or near) Tokyo. Where are you from originally? I'm in the U.S., though I lived in Nagoya for a year, studying Japanese at a university. That was about 10 years ago, so my Japanese is super rusty. I dream of going back to Japan. I was still a virgin when I visited, and amazingly, I left a virgin! I even had some ladies proposition me, but I was too naive or stupid to capitalize on it. If I went there now, it would definitely be a different story. God, …
