I don't the he is judging his actions by her response. He is asking why she is not conforming to the RP narrative that AWALT, she should have responded positively to his bravado. Apparently not all women act like that. Its hard to say from a single post. Perhaps he is a long time beta and she feels protective of him and she doesn't want to see him get in a fight and get hurt.
