Why don't you try and think for yourself, rather than following like a lemming some old book full of funny stuff? Then you might not be sexually abusing children. And please don't say "Good day to you sir!" once again without actually f**king off and leaving me alone.

Thanks. The main issue is that MGM is "normalised" in Europe and the west; just as FGM (and MGM) is normalised in say Egypt. It's very hard to shift opinions. Then you add in that hundreds of millions of $$$ are funneled to anti-FGM charities and services by big western charities, WHO, EU, UN etc., and that hundreds of millions of $$$ are funneled to pro MGM charities and services by big western charities, WHO, EU, UN etc. and you start to see the extent of the issue! The other big factor, is th…

It's just all so bizarre - when the information is so readily available. And the majority of the anti-FGM crowd (I am totally anti-FGM of course) just fail to see that it's the pro-circ lot - religious or otherwise - who are the main block to stopping FGM, as they know the MGM will be next. Here Rabbi Jonathan Romain express his fears about this: "I suspect matters will get worse now that Female Genital Mutilation is becoming more widely condemned; circumcision will be seen also as an invasive r…

Lies, lies lies... "Types of FGM range from type one, which involves the removal of the clitoris, to type three, the removal of clitoris, labia and sewing up of a girl so only a small hole remains to urinate and menstruate." There are four types, and many women undergo FGM which is far less harmful than MGM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_genital_mutilation "Taina Bien Aime, director of the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women and a long-time anti-FGM campaigner, says comparisons between …

Yep. I've insulted pretty much every Muslim and Jew - except the ones who don't mutilate their sons' penises. Try this if you want to know the truth about the Koran and male genital mutilation. It always amazes me that Muslims and Jews have been at each other's throats (literally) for gawd knows how long — but the only thing you both consistently agree on is that's it's cool to sexually abuse infant boys by mutilating their genitals: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4480242,00.html No problem being best mates when it comes to fiddling with little boys' penises eh?

Type Ib (removal of the clitoris + hood), Type II (excision - removing the clitoris, hood and inner labia) .... are more severe than male circumcision. Debatable. And in any event, I don't buy the whole "it's a competition to see who is more mutilated". According to the law of most western countries, it's a criminal offence to even nick the genitals of a female. This woman - Fuambai Sia Ahmadu - chose to have female circumcision. All with sterile equipment etc: http://www.fuambaisiaahmadu.com She has no problem with it, and considers it part of her culture. Maybe she thinks it's cleaner as well - and also she can "last longer" as she has had her external glans clitoris removed. Men from her culture also find it more attractive if a woman is circumcised. But she made the choice as an adult. That's all that's being asked here: If you want to go ahead and …

Sure is. You are mutilating the genitals of a little boy. If you were sucking his penis, or masturbating him, or kissing his penis, that would be a sexual assault. But if you take a knife to his penis and cut off 50% of it's mobile skin, then you are claiming that that has nothing to do with sex? You are destroying part of his sexual response and function. Like most child-sex abusers, the perpetrators are in denial. It's also peodophillia (a sexual relationship between and adult and a pre-pubesc…

Good point. But one of the ways you could look at the issue is: It may be science - but is it medicine? eg: If you have a headache, I can chop your head off, and that will stop the pain. Science? Yes. Medicine? No. Same goes for mutilating the genitals of boys and men to stop HIV infection. Science? Yes. Medicine? No.

The male doctor was caught "re-infibulating" a women. She had had her labia lips mutilated and then sewn-up previously. You are welcome. You sound like a wonderful woman. Strangely, I'm not going to thank you or applaud you for refusing to mutilate the genitals of your son - as that is the first function of a parent - to protect their family from physical harm! But you can call yourself a 100% proper mother for sure :-) Amazing that your husband wanted to put him under the knife; but that's most likely because he was mutilated by his parents when he was a boy, and there is a psychological drive to pass the abuse …

stop comparing us to the victims of real genital mutilation Even "nicking" the external glans clitoris or the clitoral hood is considered FGM; so amputating the male foreskin (which is around 15 square inches) is clearly "like" FGM. If you have the time, please read and understand the complexity of this - it does require some work to study the medical and scientific research. I am quoting medical and scientific research and analysis. Watch this great video. Totally professional and insightful. A…

These guys always appear with their "infection" story every time there is post about MGM. Most are trolls; some the odd true story; some are pro-circ posters planting stuff. Spot on. I knew a girl who was circumcised as a baby in Africa - the full works, clitoris and labia lips. When she moved to Sweden as a teen, she was shocked to see so many kids - girls and boys - walking down the street with pus and blood dripping from the crotch of their pants, or spurting from under their skirts. Apparently, 82.46% of Swedish girls and boys get infected genitals because they have not had chunks of their genitals cut off when they were little. And the Swedish hospitals were fu…

It's because some feminists only see the whole world through the "lens" of male oppression and the "patriarchy". It's double-edged sword, as they always see FGM as a product of the "patriarchy", even when it's 99% women performing it and queuing-up to hand their daughters over to the granny with the razor blade. Thus they cannot conceive of MGM being bad, and they denigrate it, as why would men do something so terrible to themselves if they are "in control" and "in charge" and oppressing women. …

Interesting comment actually! A good one to use against the "feminists" who tolerate or belittle MGM - that and the damage MGM does to women. Yes I know that we should not need to use that reasoning - but all the ammo helps.

Only five weeks eh? Brings us a step closer to the first UK prosecution; which creates more and more media coverage and outrage about FGM. Which does in turn bring more and more people to the question - what about MGM? I think one of the main reasons there have never been any prosecutions is because the establishment knows that it brings the banning of MGM one step closer. The cognitive dissonance required to get worked into a frothing rage over the sexual mutilation of baby girls while believing it perfectly fine to hack up baby boys' private parts is one of the most astounding feats of the human mind. Here is one of the worst examples: Waris Dirie is a former model from Somalia and a leading campaigner against FGM, having suffered it herself at a young age. Yet she had this to say about circumcising her son on page 52 of her autobiography Desert Flower: "We had …

These folks have a careful, long-term plan to wipe-out this crime. They are starting slowly, and will gradually build-up support and start turning the screws. They are very smart politically, and will be careful to have lots of "consultations" and "discussions" with all the relevant parties. Everyone's "feelings" and "opinions" will be "listened to" and "considered". All the relevant "science" will be looked at closely. When folks - especially women - start giving me the "health" angle; I reply that I think men and women should both benefit from the latest medical "advances". Then I ask them what parts of their genitalia they would sacrifice in order to gain the same "health" benefits that men gain. Of course, when it comes to their genitals, the very thought repulses the…

This is actually a very good documentary on FGM in the UK: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-cruel-cut/4od At some point, they gather a group of young Somali men, and show them the horrors of FGM - but no mention is made of the fact that almost inevitably ALL the men have suffered genital mutilation themselves. This would be LEGAL in the UK and would have happened any time between their birth and when they were 7 or 8 years old. At one point, one of the young men becomes very upset indeed, …

There could be a few reasons why the MGM comments suffer the blue pencil: (1) One of the fundamental tenents of women fighting against FGM is that it's all caused by the "patriarchy", eg: men, even though 9 times out of 10 it is women demanding it be done to their children, and it's women wielding the knife or razor blade. The mantra is repeated: "If it was men's penises being mutilated, then all this would stop". The harsh reality of MGM disabuses this myth, and so it has to be buried, or cogni…

But if you have good knowledge in this area, do please correct me or tell me how to describe it more scientifically: Interestingly, since the homo genus split from the ancestors of the apes X years ago; the human penis as actually evolved still further and become even more complex. Funny, there's no need for debate when it comes to FGM Spot on. It's just another false premise like "the health benefits". There are no health benefits. You don't amputate parts of the human body and then claim "health benefits".

Interestingly, Theodor Herzl was the father of modern political Zionism and in effect the founder of the State of Israel. He and his wife Julia refused to amputate the foreskin of their son Hans, because they considered the practice “barbaric” and they wanted “strong, virile Jewish men to populate Israel, without any ‘essential’ part of them missing”. That tidbit always narks my Jewish & Israeli friends when I tell them! The Israeli angle is alway to push the idea that anti-semitism is increasin…

I gave her a combination of scientific research in peer-reviewed journals and my own opinion. The idea that any medical book, report, doctor, or journal is "un-biased" is just not realistic. "The foreskin is firmly attached - really fused - to the glans" Amazingly, WHO [World Health Organization] is now trying to push this as a deformity of the penis - so all the more need for "circumcisions". http://joseph4gi.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/who-codifying-medical-fraud.html http://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes/N00-N99/N40-N53/N47-/#N47

Why can't religions just leave little boys' penises alone? Have you noticed how all the Catholics, Jews and Muslims just LOVE to play with them: Fondling Kissing Sucking Masturbating Mutilating Stroking Of course these Rabbies in New York win a prize for combining genital mutilation with the homosexual paedophilia of sucking 8 day old boys' penises. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPLh36XYolc Are we supposed to stand by and see Jewish babies killed by the Rabbi because they contract herpes HSV-1?…

Fantastic article. This part is very interesting: "Unfortunately, even the American Academy of Pediatrics continues to post incorrect and harmful information about this in their literature and on their websites -- telling parents that the foreskin should be retractable by the age of 3, and advising parents to retract and clean regularly with soap and water. Soap on mucosa destroys natural immune substances and upsets the pH balance, making the foreskin and glans vulnerable to infection. This kin…

Wonderful news. I'm so happy! As well as reducing the evils of masturbation and too much good sex, plus being a cure for almost every disease under the sun, male genital mutilation [AKA "circumcision"] how now achieved the once thought impossible goal of peace in the Middle East. Who would of thought that just 15 square inches of "disposable" flesh from the penises of little baby boys, possessed a power of such magnitude. Further scientific research required urgently. Next stop: "Baby boys' fore…

Wonderful post. You are spot on with your analysis. I went through the exact same process of "realisation". It took me months of reading all about male circumcision to come to the acceptance that I have a mutilated penis (but I accept that other men may wish to called themselves circumcised; and I respect that). But I don't have a mutilated mind. I lean more towards the idea that MGM [male genital mutilation] has more to do with sheer ignorance. I knew nothing about what had been done to me - an…

The glans of your penis (that the bit that looks like an acorn) is an internal organ - a mucus membrane. The foreskin is there to keep it moist and protected - just like the inside of your mouth protects your tongue. That's why after 4 billion years of evolution, every mammal has a foreskin. Except genetic retards like you. Your glands will dry out over time, and become thick with cell growth. It will lose it's sensitivity, the quicker the older you get.

I registered and posted the following. Please register and post as well! It's easy: I heard there is a new type of terrible genital mutilation being performed on little babies in many countries: 50% of the skin of the most sensitive part of the genitals are amputated - this is around 15 square inches of tissue in an adult. The little baby loses over 20,000 nerve endings and miles of blood vessels. Many of the functions of the genitals are destroyed or damaged, and parts of the genitals that are …

I too have had my genitals mutilated, and I appreciate where you are coming from. But no one is helped by blatantly false statements. "A circumcised penis is not inferior to a normal penis" is a blatantly false statement. I can't help that; don't blame me, blame the people doing the mutilating. No one is helped by lies and falsehoods, mistruths and distortions. The "doctors" who mutilated you and /u/1Down lied to your mothers and fathers; or at the very least were criminally negligent. Male genital mutilation amputates 50% of the total penis skin area - that's around 15 square inches of adult male flesh. This is a loss of 20,000 nerve endings (the visible female clitoris has around 8,000), miles of blood vessels, and the man will suffer multiple function loss. FUCK YOU What you are you going to fuck me with? Your pathetic penis that your mother paid a doctor to mutilate? Your penis that has had 50% of it's skin amputated? The one that is missing 20,000 nerve endings? No thanks, I want to be fucked by 100% whole complete penises that function properly.

A circumcised penis is not inferior to a normal penis Lies like that just perpetuate this torture and mutilation of baby boys. Start living in the real world and do some research. You can't lose 50% of your penile skin, 15 square inches of flesh (in the adult male) and 20,000 nerve endings and then claim that "there's no problem". If you want to have some fun, try hopping over to /r/feminism and try telling the folks there that a mutilated clitoris or vulva is no problem.

You raise some interesting and valid points - especially about the decision about having a child etc. Why should society have to support a child and it's mother, if it has no say in the initial choice of bringing that child into the world?
/r/MensRights10/09/13 06:51 PM

Correct. The guy should have the opportunity to decline fatherhood, and then should not have to pay child support etc.

I think that this is the correct decision. The foetus is inside her body, and therefore I think she has the right to decide. No one else has the right to interfere with her body; and at the very least this is grievous body harm.

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Your concern for "the country" is touching. We need to tease out your hypocrisy in order to have a bit of fun. Here we go!: A few questions: If "the country" was disappearing because the population was not reproducing and instead having millions of abortions, would you ban all abortions for anything other then medical reasons? As you say the foetus has no rights, and it's the woman's right to chose what to do with her body. So it's really simple - she has the right to terminate her pregnancy for any reason. What gives you (or the "government" LOL) the right to step in? Who says that and equal balance of men and women is correct? And why should the woman not be able to abort a male foetus if she hates men, and does not want to bring a man into the world? Men are responsible for most of the violence in the world, and it…

One might argue that abortions per se are "harmful to society". They are certainly "harmful" to the foetus. But this is trumped (perhaps quite correctly) by a woman's right to decide what she can do with her own body. It's a bit naughty to then jump in and start trying to argue that actually a women does not have the right to decide what she can do with her own body because it "harms society". Interesting points, thanks. I'm not sure if you agree or disagree with me :-) I guess the essence of my point is that many women (and men) demand abortion on demand for any reason, and chant the mantra: "my body, my choice". But then when the women demands an abortion on the grounds of sex, then suddenly we are all concerned about the harm to women and society, and that it's "misogynistic". It is totally is 100%. I always use MGM to jolt people and friends out of their trance like state about attacking little boys penises with a knife. But in this case, the OP is hurting bad, and we are all human. He's hurting not because his parents did not love him; or because the abandoned him; but because they loved him and just did something that they thought was best - something that everyone else was doing, and the hospital told them to do. At that time it was called circumcision. It was con…

I would be cautious. I know lots of guys who have endless anger against their parents, and they are not circumcised. I'm going to use that word in this context. Normally I replace it with male genital mutilation (MGM). But your parents loved you, and did what they thought was best. They circumcised you. They did not perform MGM. They are responsible; but not guilty. There are many, many reasons why you can feel anger for your parents, and it may well that the origins of that my not be to do with…

What animal has evolved to the point where it can control selective breeding in other animals? Homo Sapien Sapien. That's us. Animals were mated together to produce certain characteristics, and the offspring were again selected for mating depending on the strength of their characteristics. Along the way, numerous generations and individuals fell by the wayside as they were not suitable for breeding and were discarded or eaten. Survival of the most adaptable again. You clitoris may be smaller than a female apes clitoris. Does that give me the right to cut it off?
/r/MensRights03/08/13 07:02 PM

That's evolution. Wolves that were less aggressive and less frightened of humans started to hang around them and get food. So then humans started to befriend them and look after them, and they were useful as guard and hunting dogs. That's the evolution of the most adaptable. Taking a rusty razor blade to a baby girl's clitoris is not evolutionary. That is, it confers no evolutionary advantage. That's why the practice is (thankfully) becoming extinct.

Yeah but the mammary gland removal would be largely outweighed by other drawbacks, such as not being able to breast feed, You could just amputate one breast, and then the woman could feed quite well just with the remaining breast. And infant formula, although not the best solution, works quite well. So that way, you could reduce breast cancer by 50%, and of course, you would not have the trouble of having to clean under that missing breast! which in a way affects a woman's ability to have childr…

I respect your viewpoint, and you are kind. I however, am a bit more militant, and believe that men who have been subject to genital mutilation are deformed and defective. If they believe otherwise, then they are deluded. So not only do I not believe it's OK for them to foster their views on infants, I don't think they hold the correct view in the first place. Male genital mutilation does not have a "side effect" of "loss of much of the boys genital anatomy". That would be like saying that a "side effect" of cutting someones nose off is that they "lose much of their nose anatomy". You are technically correct. But if I was the accused man, I would say that she got off.

There is just an endless list of these case. Terrible. And they all get off. Someone should set up an international "false sex-accuser offenders register" - pretty easy to do.

Medical research for you: http://www.norm-uk.org/circumcision_lost.html Many people think circumcision removes nothing more than a little extra skin. However, circumcision removes several critical components of male sexual anatomy. This list enumerates everything currently known to be physically lost after circumcision. Alongside these physical losses, it is important to remember that whenever a child is circumcised, by far the greatest loss is his choice to make decisions about his own body and…

...eh if you mutilate the genitals of a baby boy by removing 50% of the skin of their penis (15 square inches in an adult male), would you expect to see less penile cancer? Surprised? If you cut one of a woman's breasts off, would you be surprised to see a 50% reduction in their chances of getting breast cancer?

All calls to the charity are recorded, and all calls, regardless of their content, are logged and discussed at meetings. This is for the security of the staff answering the calls, the caller and any children involved. I called the freephone number, and laid out my concerns to one of the staff members. They were very personable and helpful, and listened to my concerns. They said my concerns were logged, and would be passed on to the relevant person. That said, I was careful to be brief and to the…

Au contraire mon frère. It's a perfect example. A "culture" of violence means that the violence has become so engrained into a culture, that it is no longer recognised as "violence" by those who are practicing, and indeed subject, to that violence. But that clearly, by any objective view, there is violence present. So here's my question again: "If someone strapped you down to a table, and then cutaway 15 square inches of your penile skin, representing about 50% of your total penile skin area, an…

Why would there be a culture of violence? If someone strapped you down to a table, and then cutaway 15 square inches of your penile skin, representing about 50% of your total penile skin area, and if they did that without an anaesthetic, and without your consent, would you consider that a violent act?

Rape is rape. Whether you have penetrated a women's vagina, anus or month with a finger, pencil or penis. Rape is rape. Whether you have penetrated a woman's vagina with 1 inch of your penis or 6 inches. Genital mutilation is genital mutilation. Whether you have removed any part of the flesh of the genitals of a female or male.

Here are some scientific research articles on the "benefits" of FGM, and how "it does not reduce sexual activity". Does that make you less opposed to FGM? "Stallings et al. (2005) reported that, in Tanzanian women, the risk of HIV among women who had undergone FGC was roughly half that of women who had not; the association remained significant after adjusting for region, household wealth, age, lifetime partners, union status, and recent ulcer." Kanki et al. reported that, in Senegalese prostitut…

It's also unbelievably racist. Any money this stuff was invented by white folk. Do they ensure that the victims and their parents are fully informed of the mutilation that is to be performed on them, and the huge consequences of amputation of the foreskin? Do they list out the functions of the foreskin? Shocking

"one in three women worldwide experience sexual or physical violence" But when you actually read the full report, you learn that means that even ONE act of "violence" counts for your whole life, and that act of "violence" could be: "having something thrown at you that could hurt you". So your boyfriend comes home drunk and finds you making-out on the couch with your best friend. He throws a soft slipper at you. And voila you become a "victim". Being "pushed or shoved" also counts. So you go to h…

Think of it this way: if you were caught sucking the foreskin of a baby boy, you would be thrown in jail. But if you were to cut the foreskin off with a razor blade, and then suck it, well that OK then.

All these fake penis for test purposes had no foreskin. It would be interesting to see what effect an intact foreskin has on this process. My guess would be in would make it much more efficient, as when the penis is withdrawn, the foreskin bunches up against the coronal ridge and forms a better seal to scope the semen out. Another good reason for not mutilating the sex organs of male babies.

Well, it took me a while, but I read this paper. Yes it's a great read, and it's wonderful to see a full, factual, professional and well-researched article complete with numerous references, footnotes and citations. This is a proper academic thesis. So much better than the silly stuff that you see often see here on Reddit eh? However, certain parts of the history chapter are somewhat inflammatory, reveal biases, and may actually reduce acceptance if the paper is presented in full. Could you perh…

This is the UK, and it's legal to have sex with anyone 16 and over. There are a few exceptions, and one of them is if you are in a "position of trust" - e.g.: you are a teacher. Then you have not raped or abused the person, you have "abused" your position of trust. This does not make her a "predator" and I don't like the use of that word in this situation. Men and women want to have sex together, it's great fun and there is nothing wrong with it.

I would go with 3.9 billion years of successful evolution every time. Most mammals have a foreskin - both male and female - and they evolved for a reason. Are there any other bits of your baby boy's body you are thinking of mutilating because of the supposed "health benefits"? You could cut his ears off and then he would never get cancer of the ear. Or you could remove one of his kidneys, thus reducing his chances of cancer of the kidney by 50%. If you have a baby girl, will you remove half of h…
