I'm not so sure about that. I like to people watch when I'm out in public, and all I have to say is that people are disgusting and unattractive. So many men and women put no effort into taking care of themselves.

how do you win? Well, you never do. It's kinda like the whole thing with men being told to open up and show their emotions; there are women that tell men that that's what they want, and also women who clearly aren't in to that. You either do what you want and ignore the naysayers, or trade out your social group for other like-minded people. That's as close as you'll get to "winning"

Good point. People dressed like the handmaid's tale wouldn't have to screech about losing their access to abortion with every scotus pick if it was actually made into a right. Then again, looking at what you said about the 2nd amendment, maybe they still would.

Sorry, I was being a cheeky bastard. Pro-lifers are definitely trying to force the issue. Between them and the other wackos calling for late term abortions right after birth, hopefully we'll find a balance. Also, idk if I'd call our scotus super conservative. Yes, it's a conservative majority based off party lines; yet, this super conservative majority already voted in favor of planned parenthood.

if you legalize something and then start revising to impose some restrictions, the people will feel like their freedom is being breached And I don't blame people for that. Same issue in the gun control debate. A compromise is needed, but the debating is never over because nobody agrees on the compromise and the tail ends of either side always try to pull too far their way.

People use whatever tools they have at their disposal, or at least what they think they have at their disposal, to get what they want. Pretty normal power dynamics stuff. I find it much more interesting how these "heartbeat" bills are called "anti-abortion legislation", when they aren't making abortion illegal. I find it reminiscent of pro-lifers calling pro-choicers "pro-abortion".

We often forget that the civil rights movement was during a time of great political turmoil and terrorist activism. Unless you're one of those people that believes all white people are racist, the civil rights movement wasn't simply about racists vs. black people. There were plenty of white people that knew what they saw happening to nonviolent protesters was wrong and were totally willing to jump on board anything that wasn't one of the many violent groups at the time. Don't know as much about …

they raised holy terror and put themselves at great risk until they were listened to You're right, they did; however, it also worked because men care about the concerns of women. If men didn't care about women, as I personally think we're portrayed, it never would have worked. most successful political movements had generations of not being taken seriously Maybe it's a symptom of being part of a generation of men that feel like it's completely free reign for anyone to openly ridicule, demonize, …

women literally forced their concerns to be listened to. Yes. Women tend to be much more vocal about the things that bother them, even minor/irrelevant things, than men. The key is that men are also receptive to women's complaints. If men didn't care about women's desire to have the right to vote, how could women have gotten it? They obviously couldn't vote to give themselves the right to vote and women aren't capable of forming a militia that can defeat an all male military force. All I'm heari…

When a woman is groped it comes with fear and intimidation There may be a different implication simply in that most men have the potential strength to physically take what they want from most women; however, there is also the shared overarching implication for both men and women in that they are just a sexual object to be used however the opposite sex pleases. Men are just as capable of feeling disrespected by this.

I'm sure this subject has been talked to death on this sub, but I think the 1-10 scale is dumb. 1 is only used for people that are dog-ugly, 2-4 are rarely used, most people treat 6 like it's average, and nobody ever agrees on 7-10. Then you have jackasses that say 11 for 10s. Bitch, if you're saying 11 on a 1-10 scale, then you're full of shit. The ratings should be simple: ugly, unattractive, average, attractive, gorgeous. There would be a large amount of variation within each ranking, but it …

Unfortunately, I feel like the only solution to the problem of apathy preventing a social life that could lead to relationships is to simply not be so apathetic. Considering that I met my current girlfriend at our crossfit gym, I'm a big advocate of meeting people through crossfit. It makes you more attractive, physically and through signs of self improvement, and is incredibly social; however, it suffers from the same issue of being irrelevant if you're too apathetic to try in the first place. …

Are you sure it always was that way to make it evolutionary significant? Well I would say "yes", since the men that are the best at convincing women to sleep with them have the highest odds of spreading their genetics. But never say it is you who are making it even more unfair. By despising women with high N counts thus stopping general female population from making sex cheaper for general male population. I'm not making it more unfair, because the world was horribly unfair far before I existed …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/19 01:04 AM

This argument is nothing that hasn't already been discussed to death. Men and women get criticized for polar opposite situations when it comes to N count because of the different value that frequency of sexual attainment represents for both groups. Sex is cheap for women, therefore high rates of sexual activity (at least with different people) cheapen a woman's sexual value. Any reasonably attractive woman can walk into a bar and guarentee that she'll get laid by whispering "fuck me" into random…

Is there even much debate that women expect men to approach them? From my personal experience (i.e. not in clubs or bars) women generally put themselves in situations to be approached if they are interested. So yeah, it's pretty easy to see why guys don't really brag about turning women down. When I wasn't interested in women that were clearly interested in me, I just didn't do anything; thus, nothing happened. Pretty boring story.

I'd argue it's certainly trying to take control of an aspect that most men find important in their lives, regardless of whether everyone agrees with the conclusions that TRPs come to. Not that I disagree, but I think there is some allure women that purposefully go against social norms, like the hot club dress example, have on some men. Hell, it'd just be nice if people took responsibility for their actions, regardless of whether they were mistakes. Irresponsible people have a tendency to pass the buck to other irresponsible people, and often there's little point in arguing who should take the blame. I should know, as the byproduct of a man that wasn't responsible with where he put his cum and a woman looking to convince him to marry her.

Which is why I'm left disillusioned with these options. The greatest shame of our attempts at dealing with this societal ill is that our best efforts have only achieved a little less suffering for some of these kids. That is, unless we're aiming at the wrong goal. It seems to me that our aim is to reduce some of the suffering for unwanted children, rather than discouraging their existence in the first place. Take control of your life. I agree. If we all took responsibility for ourselves and our choices, we wouldn't need legislation that attempts to fix these issues. Yet, we both know that's not how this works.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/18 02:23 PM
1

Just for full disclosure, I don't think what I commented will ever happen, nor do I consider it moral. The usefulness of society trying to take responsibility for the unwanted is pretty limited. The odds are completely against kids that are born without fathers, not to mention orphans, and the government makes a poor replacement. Some will be lucky and will have a "good life", but most are statistically destined to suffer and repeat the cycle.

Yes. Most people make the distinction between people's actions and things that are beyond their control. It does not signify disloyalty, as she’s really just being smart about it. I don't understand what you mean. Are you saying that a lack of respect doesn't necessarily mean a woman is being disloyal? If so, that's true enough. Although, I would warn anyone that their SO is likely to jump ship if they get close to someone they respect more.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/18 11:24 PM

I think this is just a disagreement on what it means to trust. I, like many other men and women, do not equate caution and being on guard to distrust. I live in a safe enough place that I don't spend my nights worried that someone will kick down my door and ravage my family, but that doesn't mean I don't lock my door every night. I trust my girlfriend so that I feel no need to watch her like a hawk, but that doesn't mean I won't keep my nose to the wind in case something smells fishy.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/18 08:13 PM
1

Meh, I disagree. You'd still be in a relationship, even if it isn't a good one. I also don't think respect or trust is exclusive to men or women, respectively. Both people need some level of respect and trust, which I believe goes hand in hand, to have a healthy relationship. A man doesn't trade trust to receive a woman's respect; however, I can see how you would make that connection between the two, given that a man is probably not going to have much trust for a woman that lacks respect for him…

Oh. I don't have any problem with you, and I'm sorry if I gave off that impression. I was just continuing the conversation since each of your comments left an opening for me to respond. In retrospect, we both just disagree and neither of us is going to convince the other.

Honestly, I can't. I'm not trying to sound like some kind of sex god, but I haven't been keeping count of how many times I've had sex. I've been masturbating practically everyday for the last decade and have been sexually active at different points within that time with different women. I have never had an issue getting an erection, regardless of the level of intimacy. If I guessed that I've had the opportunity for sex exactly 100 times, I would have had ED 0/100 times.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/18 01:58 PM
4

As one of the commenters that said real women don't do it as well, it's not that I don't get turned on by a woman in front of me or enjoy sex. It's that porn has given me an expectation of enthusiasm in bed that just doesn't seem to be common in reality. I don't think porn causes ED, but I do think it can ruin men's standards for awesome sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/18 01:37 PM

How long do you believe it takes then? I've literally spent years of my life masturbating to porn every day, and often 2 to 3 times a day, with temporary periods where I miss a couple days because life gets too busy. I'm fairly sure I'm addicted. Edit: I'm 28, if that matters to your opinion.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/18 01:57 AM

Sorry, I'm new around here. Not sure what TRPs are, but there's little point in them telling me I'm not red pilled since I'm not necessarily a MRA. Either way, I'll just copy paste what I said to Entropy-7: My view is that being red pilled just requires you to see the difference between the social narrative and the reality, and what you do with that is up to you. Hence why I would consider MRAs red pilled.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/18 01:52 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/18 01:47 AM

MRAs are usually considered red pilled and these things are part of their core tenets. MRAs also tend to argue that blue pillers aren't actually interested in equality because they never seem to advocate to these fix issues that specifically affect men, while hating on MRAs that try to bring these issues to light.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/18 11:09 PM

I feel like I'm missing something, because your argument confuses me. Are you saying that sexual interactions aren't gynocentric because men only try to court the women they're attracted to? The fact that men, at least in the US, make the first move, doesn't change that they are acting that way because that is the cultural expectation of women. Otherwise, they are unlikely to get sex from any women.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/18 10:20 PM
3

Not necessarily. I'd say it's the US's cultural expectation that men take the initiative in courtship. For instance, I've heard that in England men are much more reserved and don't really approach women. Under your argument, English men just aren't all that interested in sex, which I doubt.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/18 09:48 PM

It seems like it caters to women, but it's because it was meant to show providership to the family of the woman. I agree that's how it was, but I disagree that's how it is now. Now it focuses on playing up the different aspects that attract women to men, whether this involves ONSs or LTRs. You could argue that the performance men put on for a LTR is a holdover from showing providership to the family of the woman, but I would argue it's just an alignment of what parents would want for their daugh…

It's true. I'm pretty sure the regulation has something to do with the size of the truck, which is why the only small foreign trucks you see are those old beat up toyotas that illegal immigrants have somehow kept running for like 30 years.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/18 08:53 PM
2

Same here. There is no perfect system that can prevent humans, the crafty creatures we are, from finding ways to receive the most resources with the minimal amount of effort. There will always be pros and cons to safety nets or the lack there of. I really just commented because of Atlas_B_Shruggin's claim that the downsides are just a myth from the past. The political disagreement on the subject mostly boils down to diverging views in what's more important.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/18 08:46 PM
5

The stereotype is dumb, but there is a lot of abuse of the social services by lots of different groups. Entrepreneurs getting the bulk of their income in cash living in subsidized housing, single moms without a job living with their parents, people waiting until they are forced to get off unemployment before searching for a job. There really isn't a way to avoid it. Even if you change the rules, people will just adapt and find new ways to manipulate the system.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/18 07:58 PM

Humans, men and women, are inherently selfish creatures. Selflessness wouldn't change that courtship rituals completely revolve around the desires of women. It's not like women's desire to be courted is selfless, but that doesn't change the gynocentrism of sexual interactions either.
