Agreed! I miss it here. FDS isn't a brand, it should be a community and this is where the community is, not some random website.

So true! It's supposed to be about "Dating" Strategies but nearly everything i've seen for the past while since joining boils down to "guys are terrible, don't bother dating" and like, that's not helpful. I don't want to be a "Pick-Me" far from it, but I also don't want to be single forever either. I like my life, but being single is lonely.

That's fair and to each their own, but this guy wouldn't even really try it, he'd maybe take a tiny nibble and then immediately say it was disgusting to him. Pretty much the only things he ate were meats, breads and sugar (so candy was a staple in his diet and it showed)

Couldn't agree more! I once dated a guy who when I tried to introduce him to dried fruit as a road trip snack, he rejected basically all of them. To him, Apricots were gross, Mango was gross, Banana Chips were gross, literally the only one he semi liked was dried pineapple. it was exhausting to deal with as I love all dried fruits as a nice thing to snack on that's also healthy.

I mean they started dating when she was 19 and he was 23 or 24 (depending on when his birthday is), that's a bad sign since they more than likely met when she was just barely 18 (depending on when her birthday is) That whole situation was a mess and I'm glad the OP of that post is out now.

Also a thing is that statistically about 8% of guys are actually colourblind (1 in 12) whereas for women it's .5% (so 1 in 200) according to google, statistically women are more visual than the guys in every way.

I think it's fine because you went with the classy fully black one, not one of the ones with obnoxious colours.

Exactly! this is also the guy who will hate on Macs and anything apple, simply because it's 1. Apple and 2. not a custom built PC and therefore it's crap according to him. Which is ridiculous because it is totally possible to be someone who likes gaming (my game of choice is Sims 4) but also like the Apple ecosystem of devices. I've got an iMac, iPhone, iPad Mini and apple watch, they all work together seamlessly and I don't have to think about whether things will work together nicely they just …

Yup, women talking is the information highway and it's a powerful thing.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/03/22 05:11 AM

Holy crap this is so freaking true! when guys go off to talk it's all fluff and bragging about the women they claim they're sleeping with (who's to say if any of their bragging is actually accurate though, lol), however when a group of women go off to talk (say at a party for example) they know the fate of them is being decided amongst the ladies (and in a lot of cases that decision is a resounding no) and then the ladies plan their escape.

Was about to say the same thing! if the girls knew it was "just casual" and all of that, then they wouldn't have stormed out upset like they did. Molly is doing those girls a favour letting them know where things stand with him and each of them, lol. He'd probably told each of them that they were exclusive honestly, doesn't seem like the type of guy to manage to get anyone home without the promise of being exclusive.

yea, that ex is an idiot and clearly an ex for a reason, good job getting outta there and all that. So not someone worth spending any time or effort dealing with. the fact that he just assumed you being bi = "open to sharing a 3rd person in the relationship was one thing, but he also didn't even stop to consider that this other woman might only be interested in you and have no interest in him at all. Like I'm straight as can be and even I realize that's not how being Bi works.

Yup, it really is a classic scenario and it sucks.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/22 11:21 PM

Yup, and you just know it's only gonna be a semi-open relationship too, so open for him to do whatever he wants but she's expected to be loyal to him only . . . if she goes and finds someone of her own, then she'll be labeled a cheater and be in trouble (because naturally they wouldn't tell the extended family that they opened the relationship, no to the family the relationship is a typical one even if it isn't, giving him all the power to control and her no power)

So true! it's always the somewhat broken guys who have no ability to be worthwhile when it counts but also think they're Gods gift to women and therefore will never accept critique on their technique. They're the guy who in bed, you will tell them a thing they're doing is working so they immediately change it and now it's no longer working because they're idiots.

I know right and I'm so glad I've leveled up too, so much nope that I'd never put up with now in that relationship. It was pretty much fully a 1 way relationship and It knocked my confidence down to such low levels that now, now I won't compromise for anyone because fuck that. Like I'm a girly girl who loves makeup and nails and all of that, pre-him I had the confidence to wear bold colourful eyeshadows, and he knocked my confidence down to the point that all I felt comfortable wearing was a lig…

How it should be honestly! FWB is not friendship! I had a FWB situation once, it lasted 2 years and in that time I helped him out using my dads truck and trailer to rescue his motorcycles from the tow yard multiple times (since he had a bad habit of forgetting to renew the insurance and parking them on the street vs his 1 assigned spot, his car was always insured) and yet on my birthday 1 year he got me a cheap sign that was my parents style (something I would never in a million years display in…

Couldn't agree more! and as far as the neon pink lipstick, it's not actually neon but on me It's close enough that I consider it neon, and that is the Sephora Cream Lip Stain in the shade "Whipped Blush" it's matte and literally the brightest pink I've ever owned, https://www.sephora.com/ca/en/product/cream-lip-stain-liquid-lipstick-P281411?skuId=1646835&icid2=products%20grid:p281411:product it's literally neon on me.

Agreed. Some of us still like makeup, I know I do and I'm not wearing it to impress the males or impress anyone really, I wear it for me because I genuinely enjoy it. I love the artsy side of it where it means I get to do art on my own face. Often times that also means the makeup I'm wearing actually might put off some guys, I'm ok with that, lol. Like I've been known to wear blue lipstick before, also dark burgundy and obnoxious neon pink, and purple and just odd colours that aren't typical. I'…

Well at least they only got married after he and I were done, but yea, there were definitely points during the second year of him and I being FWB where he was definitely seeing both me and her in a "dating" way and neither me or her knew about each other. Honestly I'm not sure she even knows I existed or that I was with him before her, knowing him probably not. After he dumped me officially, it was only about 4 months before they got married, pre-covid times and they literally took off to Cuba (…

Holy crap is this ever accurate, it basically describes word for word my first ever dating relationship (or at least that's what I thought it was at the time) but the guy loved to say to me in a singsongy tone of voice "just a friend, only a friend, only ever as friends" and I was so depressed and lonely and low self esteem that frankly, I fell for it hook line and sinker. Our FWB situationship lasted 2 years, and the entire second year he was also seeing the gal he is now married to, who is at …

Honestly, I really appreciate someone saying what the structure of a good date should be that being "a safe, public environment where you can bail easily if you want" cause yea, I don't like going to dinner, usually it's just awkward for me as someone with dyspraxia I'm kinda a klutz and will manage to spill food on myself. This is also why going skating would be a no go for me, I have basically no sense of balance on skates.

Couldn’t agree more with all of this! It’s so nice to see some genuinely kind people in here, because in my early lurking around, my first impression was 1. So this is where the mean girls from school ended up and 2. Holy crap this place is terrifying, in that “if you say 1 thing that people misinterpret or don’t like, well have fun being downvoted to oblivion” it’s scary as a newbie. Even the handbook is intense, as someone with a learning disability it was at least a week worth of reading. (Fr…

Same! Lifelong learning disability for me means my idea of cooking for myself means either something ultra basic or simply not cooking/getting something pre-done from the grocery store. I've burned Mac and Cheese before . . . there's like 3ish recipes I've mastered but that's about it. It's a key reason I will never have kids, because I can barely be trusted to provide food for myself, never mind for anyone else.

Yea, thinking back I guess this particular guy is the exception not the normal, lol, cause he was the most popular our year (I mean he was literally prom king and was dating the class valedictorian, so yea, he was popular), honestly I think the main thing that kinda forced him to continuously take care of himself and stay fit all these years is that he's also a twin, and so there's a built in competition factor with him and his identical twin (because neither of them want to be considered the "u…

Exactly! Like I would have no problem with a guy wanting to have some time gaming, fine by me I'm gonna go play Sims 4, lol. Of course many guys will claim Sims 4 (or any sims game) doesn't count as "real gaming" because it's not a fighting game or first person shooter which is just bonkers to me. They love it when a game character is skimpily dressed or nude, meanwhile in Sims 4 with a certain mod, I'll see more nudity than they'll ever see in any of their games. So true! I love candles too, but if a guy is gonna get me candles, he best be taking me on a shopping spree to Bath and Body Works to let me choose however many candles I want, even if we set a budget of like $150 - $200 (where if it goes over by a bit it's fine because he was expecting that), I can work with that and have a great time going through the store together picking out candles, body sprays, room sprays and body care in general (lotions, shower gel, bath gel, and scrubs), I'm picky abo…

Yea it's ridiculous! also it's hilarious to me just how dumb guys are in regards to makeup, like what they think of as "no makeup", any woman would be like "yea she's 100% wearing makeup it's just subtle and natural looking" when I wear makeup it's the furthest thing from subtle, in the rare instance I wear makeup now it's a bold eyeshadow look, generally with colour. Guys "complimenting" me for being "Low Maintenance" because I rarely wear much makeup at all. Quite frankly it's an insult, I'm a nail tech who always has a full set of acrylic nails on, and as for makeup, the only reason I've spent all of 2020 and the majority of 2021 makeup free is depression, that's not a good thing. an unwelcomed rough neck massage holy crap so common among low value guys! my ex did this all the damn time, and then he'd go sulk that the attention he was giving me wasn't good enough... meanwhile guys have no clue how rough is too rough with massages. Couldn't agree more about "dudes being duds". As far as the homestead thanks, though it's not really a homestead, just a standard house in a regular city, pretty close to downtown honestly. BC is just a hilly place so a lot of neighbourhoods are on hills and that sort of thing. Our place (our being me, my parents and my younger brother) isn't even on one of the bigger hills, just on a higher elevation than the flooded area (which is technically an old lakebed that was drained in the 80s) so yea.…

Yea, I'm honestly not surprised a guy is throwing a hissy fit, and no shock at all that he and other guys are downvoting anyone who disagrees with him. Statistics don't lie and they're not in his favour. And yea, it is "All Men" because it's been shown statistically that even if the woman knows the man intimately things can still go south and can still be a danger to her (women get killed by their husband or boyfriend all the time, it definitely happens) guys like to claim that women are only ha…

Like yes it's absolutely about remembering the women and protecting the women, but it is also about the guys because they're the ones doing the killing. like "alright men, you want the focus to be on you let's dig deep into all your backgrounds and see what dirt we can find, I'm sure there will be plenty" any porn us…

This is pathetic, I feel so bad for this lady thinking this was needed just to survive, and you can clearly see which rewards the guy actually cares about... which is even more pathetic. he doesn't care about getting out of going to a kids party, probably because he'd be standing around with the other guys drinking beer anyways, so it doesn't bother him to go to a kids party.

My ex was convinced he knew the rules for street parking outside of his place (at the time he had 2 motorcycles, a sport style one and a cruiser style one), in my city there are different parking rules for motorcycles than there are for cars. Oh 100% theres no way he'll find a place on his own, and then with his parents wealth behind him he'll project an image of wealth and success to the next poor lady, only for her to also end up supporting him fully. It's a cycle and he'll more than likely claim he's wealthy in his own right (using his parents wealth to project that and no actual proof to back up his claims) and the cycle continues. A thought I had, if his only source of income is "helping out his parents" because I guess they're older and need the help, doing the quick math $30/h x 10h per week = $300 a week, that x 4 weeks in a month = $1200 so basically he was mooching off of you the entire time. Quite frankly, regardless of where you are in the country, unless you're somewhere with a stupidly low cost of living, he will not be able to find anywhere to rent for that price per month, and even if he does find a place for $…

In all honesty I just got them for work (since I work doing concert prep in a rather large venue in my town) and I got them at our local Marks Work Wearhouse but literally any store that's an outfitter for work wear should have steel toe shoes available for a pretty reasonable price too. Mine were $120 and they look like normal tennis shoes, lol. Technically they're a mens shoe in a size that fits me, but who cares, they look for all intents like a normal shoe.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/11/21 04:08 AM
71

Honestly, comfortable steel toe shoes that look like regular runners or nice boots, you can switch over to nicer shoes when you get to your destination but for the sake of safety, those shoes + a kick to where it counts = major pain and a lesson to back the f up from people.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/11/21 02:12 AM
57

Honestly, this is why I love wearing my super comfy steel toe shoes, they look like normal runners, nothing special about them visually besides a tiny green triangle marker to indicate what they are, but if I'm out and wearing them and a guy decides to harass me, lets just say a kick to where it counts is coming and he won't like it because these shoes have no give to them.

Agreed, and if he's still working for her uncle... and uncle finds out what a troglodyte this guy is to his niece, my suspicion is he won't have that job much longer. I mean legally uncle can't fire him for personal reasons (depending on where this is located, definitely not the US since healthcare was covered) but depending on the situation there are ways to find reasons to fire a person that won't get the uncle in trouble legally.

I'm of the opinion that every cop in that traffic stop needs a full investigation into their conduct from an unbiased party, no "cops investigating themselves" crap that just leads to "we found we did nothing wrong" by the cops who investigated the other cops. Yea, had an ex call me the b word a few times, the first time I calmly and politely (since I was still in my pickme days) told him "I don't appreciate being called that word" to which he laughed and was like "whatever", so I escalated and kicked him where it counts... he never dared to call me that word or any derogatory word ever again.

So true! And thus why you end up with guys in their 30s or even older trying to get with women who are just over 18 so it's legal but not exactly moral, but it's because they know women their own age won't put up with them anymore and dumb luck is unlikely to happen twice.

to answer your question about dating from another neurodivergent lady here, my condition is Dyspraxia, and personally when I'm going on dates, I don't bother masking my personality all that much, I do a little on the first date, but if the relationship gets to like the 8-10 dates in range, by that point I'm not hiding the fact that I'm obsessed about certain topics and that if you get me talking about that topic you won't be able to get me to stop talking about it. Or that if something interests…

Same here! Family reunions are the worst, it's gotten to the point going to mine that I always drive myself, that way I can show up for the meal, "visit" for the required amount of time according to my parents who I live with (which to my mom that means stay a minimum of half an hour after the meal to just chill out), and then I can go (which I usually just make up some excuse to leave early and go home)

Same on processing audio slower! Same here, I've learnt that's common for the condition I have (Dyspraxia) so that sucks. Honestly reading the comments here I can't help but wonder if I'm at least mildly autistic too. Never diagnosed with it, but that's no surprise.

I relate to this on a dang spiritual level! So Freaking Accurate! My story is a unique one. I was diagnosed as a kid with a thing called Dyspraxia (at the time back in the early 90s it was known as "Developmental Coordination Disorder"). Here's what's the more unique thing about my story, my parents did the steps with my school system to get me the help I needed, however the one thing they never did was actually tell me what it was that I had, or that my condition actually has a name. I mean I did but I have the added challenge of a diagnosed learning disability and also a very small town, there aren’t really many options for dinner dates around here beyond a dive bar/restaurant that’s known to be obscenely dark lighting and extremely loud music, a few semi decent chain places and like 2-3 high end places. Around here if you want any sort of variety you have to travel about 2 hours drive to the larger city, and that would be 2 hours if there’s no traffic, there’s 1 highway to…

I love this, I generally do a coffee date for the first date, mainly because in my own life I'm on a tight budget so if I end up having to pay for myself I can generally afford it. In my experience a sign of a high value guy is that if he arrives first he waits to order till I arrive, and he pays for both of us without hesitation. So many LV guys will arrive first and then already have their drink when I get there, so now I have to go up and awkwardly order for myself and it's just odd feeling. …

Perfect, long as you have something that works that’s all that matters, plus the wedding planner kinda functions both as planning and memory keeping, so that’s fun. I’d still consider getting the notebook though, could function as a great journal. I mean it’s on sale for under $8, lol

Also worthwhile to note, that guy was talking about "his last girlfriend" aka it didn't work out, so clearly them not being the same faith mattered. If it truly didn't matter they wouldn't have broken up and he wouldn't be back on online dating. And congrats on your engagement! Beautiful ring.

Absolutely, that's what I always said I would probably end up doing if I ever had a kid, just adopt a slightly older one that way I can skip the whole baby phase, then one day I realized I have basically 0% parental instincts and frankly I don't have the patience to deal with human kids, bio or adopted. In my future I'd rather stick with fostering and rescuing dogs. But by all means, if you have the desire and ability to adopt a kid definitely do it.

wow that's a pathetic excuse for a ring, I for one definitely wouldn't accept that proposal, not in a million years. Fact is I wouldn't mind if the guy proposed and was like "lets go shopping together and pick out your ideal ring" (obviously he pays for all of it) because one of my favorite fashion jewelry pieces is rings, so I'm quite picky in that regard. Oh my gosh that's hilarious on the guy thinking the Kardashians are somehow natural, lol, and that they don't have extensions or wigs, dude has no clue. On the nail topic, so true, it's why as a nail tech I always have acrylic nails on at all times, I do them myself on myself and just always have nails on, even if it's plain natural tone acrylic with a regular polish colour on top, I always do something for my nails. I have no interest in dealing with my nails being constantly broken.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/08/21 01:58 AM

Absolutely! Guys don't realize it but natural nails that are also long are so much effort to maintain and if someone is intent on keeping them fully natural, break one and now they all have to be short or they look weird. At that point as a nail tech if it was my own nails and I got them to a point where they were long naturally and I broke one, my reaction would be "screw it, replacing this with plastic and acrylic now" because for me at least, I know how to make them look natural but they tota…

So true about natural long nails typically not being that strong! I'm a Nail Technician professionally, fully natural nails have almost no strength unless they're naturally basically a C shape (when you're looking at your own hand toward the knuckles we call that looking down the barrel of the nail) if looking at the nail from that angle they're very curved, then they can be quite strong even when long, but most peoples natural nails grow out rather flat, and flat nails have almost no strength. …

Oh absolutely! Childless women definitely live longer, I mean look at the effect being pregnant has on a woman. The child literally sucks away her nutrients if she doesn't get enough while pregnant. Womens bodies may be built for having kids, but that doesn't mean it's kind to those women who choose to have even 1 kid. Like women literally can loose teeth, hair, bone density among other things just from having kids.

I mean looking on the bright side, at least they didn't permanently sterilize her, just an IUD. Cause knowing the power they had over her, they could have easily drugged her, took her into a surgery and full on removed parts of her to make it so she could never have kids again. Not saying an IUD isn't terrible to have forced on her, but it could have been way worse.

Yikes! What's bad is that means he was trimming them to an extreme short length which isn't needed. A reasonable short length, not damn near down to the nail bed (aka the sensitive skin underneath) this is also why at nail school we were taught to always cut toe nails straight across, no curve. it's literally to prevent ingrown nails from happening. The smell is just him being a disgusting slob, yuck.

Can confirm as a Nail Technician, Mens feet are disgusting. Often times they let their nails grow way too long, to the point that their nails are cutting holes in their socks. If I'm doing a guys feet for a guy pedicure (because I absolutely will, I'm being paid for it so who cares, it's actually an easier pedicure than a ladies one, lol) I give their feet a good soaking with soap and water first.

This is so true and it's accurate for a lot of the marvel ladies actually, like Peggy Carter for example in Agent Carter (her show that only lasted 2 seasons) was constantly underestimated by the guys around her and she took full advantage of that.
