Pretty similar situation to a lot of guys I feel. Women tend to move in quickly and find validation in other men during separation. It’s a way they feel good. And when they see their ex doing well it makes them want some type of pull back. It’s sad

This is the best possible case for a bad scenario. Move on. Cut ties. This isn’t getting better. Go find someone that wants to build the life you envision.

I feel you. I’m there now with my ex. Everyone says it gets better. I’m still waiting

If you don’t have kids then holy shit are you lucky. If we didn’t have kids I’d be THRILLED if my wife left and went to another state

I 100% agree. Trying to change the narrative is ridiculous

That’s exactly what is happening. I have pictures, videos, social media posts and texts of her flowering me with love, affection, praise and thanks. Today she acts like none of that ever happened.

Boy this hits home hard. My wife and I had so many good years and great times. She refuses to believe they ever happened. She describes a relationship I don’t even recognize

It’s very common. Google “walk away wife syndrome”. Men and women communicate differently. There are signs but sadly we men don’t see it a lot

We are in a two party state. The cameras would only be admissible if there was police involvement which at least covers me a bit

I really like this. She’s already gotten to the point of screaming “F off” to me in our driveway and just losing her cool so we’ve hit this point. Last night tried claiming financial abuse because the mortgage hasn’t been paid this month. It’s due the 15th. It was the 5th. No financial abuse occurred

I like this idea a lot.

I did refuse and said that we can’t talk about it.

I really do worry that she and her attorney are going to try that. Thankfully I know that we were on camera in her driveway so that helps

That’s what you have to do! Mine ran out and got a boyfriend 5 weeks into our separation. Kids found out and now she’s denying it and seeing him in secret. We saw her vehicle at his place last weekend. The divorce is starting and it’s going to get ugly

Boy you and I are sitting in the same kind of position brother. Eerily similar. Stay strong. If you need to chat please PM me.

This!!! I 100% did not want this divorce. It wasn’t my choice. It’s not fair at all.

I’m quite the opposite.

Seriously. She was a SAHM but that will also need to change. Dads have rights today.

She was in the belief to start that it was open and shut she would get primary and I’d get every other weekend. Then she started to hear how unlikely that is. At this point she’s opened up the warm and friendly convo and I don’t want to engage.

That is nuts. I sadly believe my ex will do the same if we can’t reconcile. Sorry to hear you’ve had to deal with that.

I’m in a similar situation. She’s getting a lot of advice from her 3x divorced mom and divorced friend. Some of the claims are outlandish. I don’t see it going well.

I actually did file for primary. I figured that I may as well and they can fight me down to 50/50

Asked for a separation, stole all the guns I left there and hid them elsewhere, started sleeping with someone new and let our kids (all under 11) find out, gaslit the children and then demanded alimony for life no matter what.

As long as you can someday look at your kid and explain why you honestly left and feel okay with that choice

Have you tried being friends first? Physical shit is easy. I’m a bit older and was with my wife for 13 years before ours sadly ended this spring. Take her on dates. Go on a trip. Try and have fun! If you’re down for the physical and you don’t argue or hate her then this can work.

I may be against others but love is dumb. If she’s a good person, a good mother and you enjoy spending time with her then this is the only one your son will have both of you all the time. Now, if you guys are fighting and don’t get along it’s different. But if you truly like her as a person and can spend time with her then I’d REALLY think hard about leaving.

She is in the marital home and dictating the children’s schedule. Saying “this is what I’ll allow”. My only recourse would be to file for custody and I didn’t want to upset her. Found out today she filed anyway.

My entire plan was rejected by my STBXW. At this point she’s “controlling” everything and all I can do is document requests and denials

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. Is there no way to make it better with your wife? Therapy, counseling, anything?

I did speak with an attorney and all is good with it.

I’m at this point now in my separation/early divorce. My wife isn’t the person I married anymore. I don’t even know her.

I really hope so. My attorney said it’s on the docket to move to assumed 50/50 like some states have but we aren’t there yet. It does seem much more common though

She is in the home. She’s threatened the cops if I try to come home. I am actively trying to work it out, but she’s not open or willing at all. Counter filing is a good idea

I feel for you. I’m in a very similar boat and all I can tell you is that every day I call at least one friend. I’ve let people in, told them what’s happening and I’m trying to work on myself. Whether that’s therapy, reading my Bible, exercising, walking outside or getting some time with my kids. Work on being the best version of yourself. Not just for her and to get her back, but because you have to do it for yourself now

My STBXW is the same. Everyone thinks she’s the sweetest, greatest, most caring human on earth. Couldn’t be more of a narcissist and twists everything to her way

I have the same issue going on. I believe my wife cheated on me and also now she’s stuck in a cycle she created so she won’t let in. She’s just spiraling and digging her heels in

You made the right choice when you found out all the info. It would be momentary satisfaction and then gone. Plus way too much risk. Good on you for not.

My wife lied to me about something massive, trapped me in a marriage. I found out and couldn’t get over it. Harbored resentment for years. Every time we fought it came up, then she’d withhold sex and affection. So I’m calling this one half and half but she takes zero responsibility

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
