Before we got married, I actually suggested that my ex-wife keep her maiden name, as it is unique and would be easily marketable if she ever decided to build a brand. Eventually she cheated, we got divorced, and she refused to go back to her maiden name, claiming “she wanted to keep the same name as the children.” If you hate me enough to betray me in the worst possible way, why do you still want my last name? Under normal circumstances (even though getting divorced is not normal) I would have j…

Pressured by my ex wife to get a vasectomy, even though she knew I wanted more children. But she had difficult deliveries of our boys and was hesitant about having any more so I gave in. Barely six months later..you can guess the rest. Apparently making your husband get snipped only to cheat on him is a thing, cause I hear about it all the time in this and other subs. I actually have complications from my procedure as I’m still in pain years later so a reversal is out of the question. All types …

There are two things I am afraid of. I don’t want to do anything to jeopardize the stability of where the children are living now, and this might put her at disadvantage if the house is put on the table in court. And second, what if the custody arrangement I get from court is worse than the one I could of agreed to? Like instead of getting 50/50, she gets sole custody because I’m not in a good financial situation?

Even if there is no chance at reconciliation, I feel we have to be on good terms in order to be good co-parents for our boys, and this won’t happen with us going to court. They are so young and so many decisions have to be made for them by us. There are times we still have to come together for them.

I couldn’t scrape it together even if I wanted to. The amount is too much, plus I’m in a job that only pays once a month. I could do ride share, but it would take driving 24/7 to make that kind of money.

I go in to each day asking what can I do to make my self better. And do at least one thing to improve myself. And I ask myself what can I do to make things easier on her. Whether it be giving her space to just breathe. I may not be able to take care of all the bills myself(125k vs 30k, marketing vs higher education)( i am interviewing for hiring paying jobs) but I stay on top of the budget, make sure it’s update. And try to guide the financial situation if I can. I plan dates and organize doctor…

Well that’s the issue. I’ve been working on myself, taking more responsibility to relieve stress of her, making more decisions for the family, still not enough. I can’t promise I can be 100% what she wants in the snap of a finger, or promise that I won’t make a mistake. But I am putting and the work and I’m and trying. It’s not like I refused to change or do anything.

I don’t believe that she is. Between work and the kids, she wouldn’t even have the time. And honestly even if she was, I would still want to be with her, that’s how much I am in love with this woman. Sad and pathetic, I know.

Just by her nature, she’s confident more of a go-getter and problem solver-to an aggressive point actually. I take longer to get things done, am not sure of myself a lot of the time, and kind of accept what is happening to me. She feels that she has to take care of everything, and is physically and mentally exhausted. She wants me to be just as evenly yoked in these things. I can improve on these things, but it means nothing if she implodes the marriage.

Yes, last week. After she claims she had an “epiphany” she says she no longer wants to be married. We live in a state we’re we have to be separate a year before we can officially divorce. So she wants me out the house soon (she’s the breadwinner and the sole person on the mortgage). I haven’t been the most supportive husband. I owned up to that and worked on and bettered myself through personal therapy, and tried to work on us in couples therapy. She just doesn’t feel I’m worth the wait anymore.

My greatest fear is that even if I can get through this, any emotional and mental progress I make is going to be obliterated when she finds someone new. Just the thought of her being with someone else, emotionally and physically, (whether he’s a better man than me or she just thinks he is), and the possibility of her trying to replace me with him in my kids life does not put me in a good mental state.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
