This is too rational. Why be rational when society takes our victimization delusions seriously and rewards us with attention and sympathy?

reading through the sidebar Awesome, you completed step one This world is not meant for the nice people, nice people get nowhere Sounds like you have pretty solid understanding of reality. Take baby steps. Every successful, accomplished person alive, was once where you are. The difference between them and everyone else is even though they were afraid they acted anyway. They didn't get there overnight. Set small girls. Start by walking up to a hot girl you would normally never approach and asking…

What do yo u guys consider "feminine"? I don't know who Chris Colfer is, but Micheal Cera is dorky/nerdy I wouldn't consider him feminine. It seems by "feminine" you mean "nerdy" or weak", or someone who is not a macho/manly/jacked or not cowboy or military or frat boy sterotype

there is still a portion of blue pill inside of me; a portion that tells me to care for her, to be there for her, to guide her away from making mistake Good job recognizing this. You have more self-awareness than most people. She's some girl you've known for 10 minutes, why do you give a shit if she gets a tattoo or not? This isn't your wife, just a random chick.

I equally doubt its all that rare or unique Ha it's extremely rare and unique! 99% of the male population has never and will never fuck a 10/10 anywhere, anytime, let alone under an hour at the club.

Start small. You don't have to learn everything completely right away. Start with one small thing, get good at it, move onto the next. It's a process that takes years. It's not like you just download this into your brain and instantly are good at everything.

Nah man, he's right. Girls LOVE ugly, vulnerable, soft guys. Especially when they're ugly. Ed Sheeran being a world-famous musician, millionaire, and brilliant song-writer and musician have absolutely NOTHING to do with why women are attracted to him. I'ts because he's soft. Duh. Guys, seriously. Just be more soft.

Why are these men "feminine"? Because they style their hair and wear nice clothes? I'm sure you can easily find pictures of John Wayne, Bruce Willis, and Mel Gibson dressed up for an awards show with hair gel and a tuxedo...

I thought "beta bux" meant that men aren't able to have sex while they're single so they marry women in order to have sex with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/17 04:24 PM
12

True. There's obviously a lot of other possible reasons. If more men are having sex as they get older, and a higher percentage of older men are married, there's definitely a correlation between men getting married and men having sex. You obviously can't prove this, but I don't think you can really prove any alternative theories either. And to claim there is absolutely no connection between men getting married and men having more sex seems a little absurd.

A CEO could like being submissive in the bedroom but dominant everywhere else. This is the most over-used BDSM cliche, and is trying to desperately link sexual preferences/lifestyle preferences. Dominant people are dominant in bed because it turns them on. Same thing with submissives. Don't look into it too much.

Ha yea, the lack of self-awareness is amazing.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/17 01:41 PM

Because we don't like the way we are sometimes. We don't like to admit that we're superficial. So we say "looks don't matter" and "it's what's on the inside that counts". And we call people who think otherwise "shallow". It makes us feel like we are nice good people.

I mean you're assuming that the woman wants career/money more than she wants a relationship. A lot of people, men and women, value a relationship and family more than anything else.

Other experts in that field agreed with him, and there are plenty of studies that back up his claims: http://quillette.com/2017/08/07/google-memo-four-scientists-respond/ https://nytlive.nytimes.com/womenintheworld/2017/02/13/sex-neuroscientist-suggests-gender-feminists-and-transgender-activists-are-undermining-science/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27845378 http://www.pnas.org/content/113/14/E1971.extract https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007%2F978-3-319-09384-0_11

You accused the other side of cherry-picking and not reading the full studies and understanding the context. Then you admitted that you are not sure why the other side's argument is flawed. How is what you are doing any different then what you accuse the other side of doing?

Why were his interpretations flawed?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/17 06:37 PM

I'm sure there are studies on both sides, some of which are flawed and some which hold up to scrutiny. Or do you think that the studies on your side are more often accurate? Do you think that the people carrying out studies that help either side have biases which may effect the results?

Ha that's interesting, I had no idea it originated from Twilight. Women didn't like 50 Shades for the bondage Really, you don't think so? I always kind of assumed that aspect made it a novelty, different than other female erotica- something to talk about. And i guess it was part of the guilty-pleasure appeal of it, you know, making it more "bad" or "dirty" then a typical female erotica novel.

If it's working for you keep it up. Most guys who believe in red pill do so because acting "blue pill" never worked for them so they tried something different. By the way, what do you specifically mean when you say "picking up girls as a red pill is hard work"? Do you mean working out and disciplining yourself, getting into shape is difficult? Or acting "red pill" around girls is difficult for you? And if "blue pill" works for you 100% of the time why would you ever stop? Getting to know them, t…

Crimes require evidence. Murder convictions need a weapon. Theft convictions need proof of stolen property. It is impossible to produce evidence for "being too drunk to consent to sex". So it becomes a he says, she says debate. That's why there is so much controversy.

think how much an elementary school teacher or a day care person gets paid compared to an engineer Do you think that it is as difficult to be an elementary school as it is to be an engineer? This dynamic of viewing women's work as lesser cannot be solved with liberal consciousness upraising, it is a problem at the core of how capitalism functions. Why do you think capitalism is responsible for how we think about viewing women's work? Why can this not be solved by liberal consciousness upraising?

Why is it ridiculous? If any individual doesn't have sex, it doesn't negatively impact the species. If any individual dies, it doesn't negatively impact the species. If you die your individual genes exit the gene pool. If you don't have sex your individual genes exit the gene pool. The only way for your genes to survive is for you to: A) survive b) reproduce Individuals who survive pass their genes on. Individuals who reproduce pass their genes on. When I say "purpose" I mean the way our bodies have been designed. When we touch a hot stove we automatically pull our hand back so it doesn't get burned. When our body needs to recharge we become tired. When we haven't eaten for a while we become hungry. When we see an attractive person we become aroused. We do these things in order to stay alive, in order to preserve our genes. If someone chooses to deny themselves food, or water, or sex, they are denying themselves what their body craves in o…

And anyway, the X-men don't evolve certain super-powers so Magneto won't kill them. They randomly evolve super-abilities for reasons nobody really understands. And they use those super-powers to aid in their existence. Just like how real life evolution works.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/17 08:31 PM
1

My point is that the purpose of life is to survive and reproduce. If you don't eat food you die. If you don't have sex your genes die. You might think that survival of an individual is more important than that individual's reproduction, that's fine. You can jump circles around this and bend backwards because you don't like the repercussions of this point but it doesn't make it untrue.

Our bodies have evolved for millions of years to survive and reproduce.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/17 04:13 PM

There is no meaning or goal. Individuals who are best suited to reproduce, reproduce. And individuals who WANT to reproduce are better suited to reproduce than those who are indifferent. Therefore, evolution results in individuals who value reproduction surviving and reproducing.

Humans are not compelled by anything to have sex or reproduce, we have evolved in such a way that we enjoy it We are compelled by our enjoyment. The reason we enjoy sex is that individuals who enjoyed sex in the past reproduced and passed those genes onto us. We have genes that tell us "have sex because it feels good", which have been passed onto us through evolution, that compel us to have sex. Just like the genes that say "eat food, because it tastes good" compel us to eat. I could be wrong, a…

"I understand, but if you want to be with me, you can't say "I love you " to other guys." You don't have to explain yourself, or rationalize, or justify your behavior. If she tries to cry or argue with you, walk away. You have to be willing to end a relationship if she crosses your boundaries. This is not something little or petty- saying "I love you" to another person would be a deal breaker for almost everyone.
/r/TheRedPill08/09/17 06:01 PM
2

The same thing happened to me. After I found the red pill and started sticking up for myself I felt awkward, uncomfortable, selfish, and guilty. It's kind of a shock. It's very unsettling at first. I hated when I was the center of attention- it felt weird. Over time I got used to it.
/r/askTRP08/09/17 05:57 PM
2

Dude. If she is saying "I love you" to other guys you need to end this relationship right away. She's using you and taking advantage of you. And you are letting her. In future relationships set boundaries from the start.
/r/TheRedPill08/09/17 05:53 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 05:49 PM

It always amazes how many red pill confirmations I see now. It's always like every time I talk with a woman I see one. The other day a co-worker was talking about how she always starts fights with her boyfriend because "she can't help it", and he refuses to talk to her while she is emotional. She said it makes her so mad when he does it, but she actually likes it, and he is actually right because she is starting a fight over nothing.
/r/TheRedPill08/09/17 05:34 PM

They banned me, because it's "moralizing". :) I can't imagine why they would think that...
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 05:04 PM
4

If the point you are making is that sex is not a need for the survival of the individual, I agree. One individual having sex and reproducing is also needed for the survival of the species. The human species will be fine without me having sex. The human species will also be fine if I am deprived food and water and I die. The point I'm making is that millions of years of evolution has compelled individuals to have sex and reproduce in order to ensure the survival our the species.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 04:54 PM
1

So you think that the red pill doesn't work? Are you red pill, or blue pill, or neither?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 04:32 PM
3

Now you're bending over backwards to prove sex isn't a "need". I'm sure we could innovate ways to survive without food or water by injecting nutrients or something. My point was that we are here today because millions of survival and reproduction. This occurred because individual humans want to have sex. Weather or not this is a "need" is a matter of semantics.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 04:30 PM
1

Guys who want to have sex but are unsuccessful go the red pill in hopes that they will learn things to help them. Our society doesn't really give advice instructing men on how to have sex all the time. At least that's been my experience. A lot of guys can't just "go out and have sex". If they could they wouldn't go to an internet forum to learn how to.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 04:09 PM
2

My point is that a man becoming "alpha" and sleeping with a lot of women is more respectable then a girl shutting around. It is more difficult. I don't think it's the apex of human evolution, but at least they are setting goals and accomplishing them. Someone who spends their days digging ditching in their yard is more respectable to me then someone who lays on their couch all day eating potato chips. Once again, digging ditches isn't the most admirable things in the world, but at least they are…

Actually, everything about us evolved to sustain our existence. Including reproduction. Reproduction is not the overall point, it's just an extension of existence. I agree. you can exist without sex and reproduction. You sound like you know what you're talking about, but how can a species survive without sex and reproduction?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 04:02 PM
-1

And without food and water, none of our species would survive, so yes they are needs. Right, your point is that not ALL individuals need to reproduce for a species to survive. I'm saying not ALL individuals have to live for a species to survive. Every individual getting sex isn't a need for our species. Also, every individual getting food and water isn't a need for our species.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 03:59 PM

I said I need things to be fair between us and there needs to be boundaries for physical intimacy because that's important to me. I said it made me feel uncomfortable when I saw her being cuddly with her good guy friend, even if I know nothing will happen. Obviously. What's your point?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 03:38 PM

Our species doesn't really care if everyone lives or dies either, as long as some do. And it would prefer if the bad genes died out. So according to your definition food or water aren't needs either. Or personal happiness.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 03:34 PM
1

Yes. Yes I do. Ha yea I agree. Sleeping with 20+ girls and becoming "alpha" takes strength, discipline etc. You might not agree with this type of lifestyle, but its more respectable then a girl slutting around.

So by "need" you mean: "what I think society cares about".
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 03:12 PM

You said neither sex nor motherhood are needs. They aren't "needs" for what? I'm arguing that if a species wants to survive it needs to reproduce, and all life is programmed to survive and reproduce. Therefore sex and reproduction are "needs". At least according to the theory of evolution and modern biology.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 03:07 PM

I agree.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 03:03 PM

What? What are you talking about? Plenty of species go extinct because they are not able to reproduce effectively. My comment was refuting someone who said that sex is not a "need" for humans, what does your comment have to do with what I said?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 03:02 PM

How is wanting and earning something mutually exclusive to talking about it? Why can't you do both?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/17 03:00 PM

Sex drive exists. People desire sex because we are biologically driven to it. Like we are biologically driven to like food. And companionship. And attention. Etc. Nobody wakes up and says "hm, I chose to want to have sex today".

The point of life so far as we know is to survive and reproduce. Everything about us has evolved to serve those needs. If a species does not treat sexual reproduction as an "actual need" it won't be along for very long.

Probably bc no one really shames a woman for wanting to be a mother. In fact the opposite is true. There are countless resources encouraging and instructing women how to find a relationship and become a mother (both good and bad). They don't have to rely on shady internet communities to figure it out.

It seems like women ubiquitously hate male sexuality, cannot accept it. This is such a vast generalization that it's hard to respond to. There are aspects of male sexuality that women love, and some aspects to male sexuality that scare them, and some women love the parts of male sexuality that scare other women etc. It's probably safe to assume that most women don't thoroughly understand male sexuality or their attraction to it, and most men don't fully understand female sexuality or their attra…

social media can be a useful tool but it's really only helpful if you already have a solid SMV. This can't be stressed enough. I used to sit on facebook and snapchat all day obsessing over everyone else's lives. (How most people use social media) I quit all social media for over a year while I focused on improving my life. Now I post cool shit 2-3/month and avoid looking at other people's social media lives altogether.

Why didn't I want to accept the Red Pill at first? 1) It meant I had to admit I was wrong about nearly everything I believed about society and the world. 2) The comforting lies of society were much easier to accept than the uncomfortable truths of the Red Pill. 3) I'd rather live in a world where everyone was nice to each other and nice to me, and I didn't have to work hard and risk failure, so I wanted to keep pretending this is how the world really was. 4) I had to act radically different than…

Depends on how you "open up". If you open up gradually over time and share your thoughts and feelings in a mature and healthy way, that can be very attractive. If you vomit all your insecurities and fears onto your partner all at once, especially early on in the relationship, that can be very unsettling, overwhelming, and unattractive.

Women want men their own age +2 years, not much older. In 1/3 of marriages the husband is 4+ years older. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_disparity_in_sexual_relationships

Women can always be picky. However, as they get older they can't be as picky as their options dwindle. As men get older their wealth and social status increases. These are very attractive to women. Men don't really care about a women's wealth and social status. Men care about her looks, which decline as she gets older.

What product doesn't promise to make someone's life better? "Buy my product and you will be miserable" is not a great pitch. I don't know anything about the books or talks or products that you're talking about but I assume if they didn't work or they were a scam, people would talk shit about them and spread the word and they'd go out of business. Maybe their product will make people's lives better. Makeup companies tell women their products will make them beautiful, Truck companies tell men their product will make them more manly, Beer and Liquor companies tell us if we go out to bars and drink we will be happy and surrounded by friends. People selling things do so by exploiting their customers insecurities, that's how the world works.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/17 09:50 PM
4

Why not? If you are a fat, balding, loser who lives in his Mom's basement turning 30 isn't going to magically make your dating life better. But if you are reasonably good-looking, are in shape, have a successful career, home and car dating will mostly likely be easier for you then a woman in her 30s with all the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/17 09:47 PM

Why is people trying to sell things a bad thing? If you or anyone don't like what they are selling you don't have to buy it. First you didn't like TRP bc whining, now you don't like it because people have the nerve to sell products, which clearly makes them all psychopaths.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/17 09:45 PM

Most men like younger, good-looking women. Most women like older, wealthier, more mature men. Obviously there are exceptions. Women dating in their late teens/early 20's have a much easier time then men. Men dating in their 30's have a much easier time then women. Not that hard of a concept to understand.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/17 09:42 PM

What does TRP sell? I'm not extremely familiar with it, but I wasn't aware they sell anything. And anyway, how does selling something make you "unscrupulous and psychopathic" ? Very confused.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/17 09:37 PM

Like where? Our entire society coddles people who wine, and coddles people who whine the loudest the most. I don't think coddling whining people makes TRP any different or any worse (or better) than the rest of society. I think the problem you have with TRP is probably that it coddles people who whine about things that make you upset.

Eggs are expensive, sperm is cheap, Bio 101. Females have evolved to be choosey, to reproduce with as few and as high-value mates as possible. Sex is inherently dangerous for women because they are physically weaker than men and face extreme consequences (pregnancy, and caring for a baby). Males have evolved to aggressively reproduce with as many mates as possible. Sex doesn't lead to many consequences for men.

Your argument seems to be "laws are only used justly against bad people". Do you really believe that innocent people aren't victimized by unjust laws? There's a reason why we have a constitution and bill of rights, and why the civil rights movement has existed for the past 100+ years.

Blanked rules like "It's rape when she's drunk" are intended for those people, not for the rest of us. Says who? Who determines if someone lacks "the interlectual or moral capacity to determine whether or not their partner is too drunk to consent"? The point of a legal system is that laws apply to everyone, not just a certain group of people.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/17 02:47 PM

There's also the issue with deciding to get that drunk, which I think is acceptable if you never reached your limit and don't know it. What do you mean "acceptable"? If you get that drunk there is a good chance that bad things will happen to you, no matter who you are.

He could have done anything else to attract negative attention and would have been fired for that as well. The alt right just decided to make a big deal if this because it fits their narrative. Well yea, obviously. I think the alt-right is upset because their views (and honestly his views weren't even that conservative) attracts so much negative attention. If someone said something you agree with and got fired for it, you would probably be upset too.

I don't think we disagree. I agree that he was fired because he was a PR liability and distraction. If they didn't fire him it would have likely lead to boycotts, negative publicity, and hurt the value of their brand. I think people are upset because in today's political correct outrage culture, what he shared (which wasn't even extreme or radical) is considered a PR liability and a distraction and would cause people to boycott etc. If he had shared something touting the benefits of diversity, o…

Yep and I'm sure that free-speech advocates in the 1890's and communists in the 1950's were upset that society wouldn't accept their views.

I used to work for a marketing company that worked in conservative niches. If I had written a calmly worded memo advocating gun control or a pro-choice stance and it had leaked and been traced back to my company, I 100% would have lost my job. Companies know their market, they know what is going to piss off their shareholders and customers, and they're going to act to protect those interests. I think people are upset because we live in such an outrage culture that a memo sharing mildly political…

Haha true. I don't think he's stupid though. I think he wanted to raise awareness about how hypocritical Google (along with most corporations) is and this is how he did it. It wasn't a terrible career move, but if he wanted to bring attention to this issue, he definitely succeeded.

Either way, he made himself a liability by running his mouth. Some opinions are not publicly acceptable, for whatever reason, and he faced backlash. He got fired because he was a PR embarrassment. Not to mention the fact that from a company culture standpoint, it's incredibly easy to argue that he was going to turn toxic if he stayed. I don't disagree and Google really had no choice but to fire him. However in doing so they proved his point that Google is an "ideological echo chamber" with littl…

That isn't why. They fired him because he made himself a public liability to the company. It's about money, not about some dumbass opinion. Yea but he made himself a liability because he expressed his opinion. An unpopular, politically incorrect opinion that a lot of people got upset about.

Strippers are however you want them to be. They are bold and sexy and aggressive if you like that, or quiet and submissive if you're into that. They act however they need to act for the guy to keep giving them money. And I think the OP means how guys act throw money at strippers or "make it rain" or treat them like... well strippers. Yea. some guys in strip clubs are sulky and quiet, but some are confident, loud, and obnoxious. Basically like anywhere else.

Why is this an issue at all. He is a private employee in a private corporation they can fire him for a hangnail for all I care. Corporations don't need bad publicity. Because he wrote a memo accuses Google of silencing unpopular opinions while they claimed to value all opinions. And Google responded by saying it values all opinions. And then fired him for having an unpopular opinion.

Okay but what about the guy who is marrying you, what if he has a lot more money than you and would be stuck paying you alimony and child support? How is it in his economic interest to marry you? Or are you saying that women - or the partner with less money - get married for economic reasons?

of these sound like silly reasons to get married. The real reason marriage was created in the first place was as an economic transaction and of course people Well yea they are silly reasons. I think Red Pill is more anti-marriage/anti-LTR where you are overly-attached to your partner. Red Pill thinks marriage is antiquated and stacked against men (true in a lot of ways), and thinks that you shouldn't rely on others for happiness, which is good advice. Most of the people who are vehemently anti-LTR are guys bitter guys or guys who can't get a LTR so say they don't want it.

What are you talking about? What I'm saying is if a man has to pay child support payments for 18 years he should have a say in whether or not the child is born. Just like a woman should have access to abortion and the right to decide whether or not the child is born. If the man is unwilling and/or unable to pay child support but the woman decides not to have an abortion and have the baby anyway she should be responsible for paying for it. Which part of this don't you understand / disagree with?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/17 11:25 PM

Well if the mother was pregnant the guy would decide "do I want to support a child or not". If he decides to support the child and the Mom decides to go through with it he has to pay. This is EXACTLY what happened in the story, the guy supported the Mom beforehand and said he'd pay, so he would still have to pay. If the father was given the choice- you can choose not to support this baby, and if she decides not to have an abortion anyway you don't have to pay - then he wouldn't have to pay child…

This is obviously a horrible, heartbreaking story. Using it to send the message "this is how all single mothers struggle, and most single fathers live the life while the mother is burdened" is disingenuous though. People who are against child support are usually against it because the mother legally has 100% control over whether she has the child or not, and if she decides to have it, and the father objects, he still has to pay. So it comes down to that men feel like they have no control. And th…

Yea the people who came up with TRP weren't really interesting in convincing women and men who are successful with women that their ideas are good or justified or fair etc. TRP is for guys who are frustrated because they aren't successful with women/life. I'm in sales and we have a lot of "behind the scenes" terms for different sales techniques. I never tell my clients about these terms or when I'm using them, I just use them and they work. This friend puts a lot of work into "getting cooler", learning new hobbies, looking better, making new friends, developing social skills. After they do this you'll probably feel more compelled to hang out with them, you wouldn't blow them off as much anymore, you'd want to spend more time with them. And some men don't want to marry a woman who has slept around a lot. It's their preference it's not illegal. I think the problem is that a lot, if not most, feminists claims that feminism is about "equality" and that it even helps men. If Black Lives Matter protestors claimed that they really want to help the cops people would role their eyes and complain too. But they don't, they are very clear that their purpose is to help black people against police injustice. Which is fine, they own it. Fair point, I don't absolutely don't have data to back up my point. As I understand it, I don't think the 80-20 rule is a measure of all sex, but more of sexual partners. Well it's more that the nerdy dorky loser is the hero, he's the one you identify with. And he wins. And there's a lot of movies like this. Sometimes it's presented an inplausable scenario, sometimes not. If your favorite movies all have heroes who are also nerds and dorks, and they get the hot girls, and people around you say "just be yourself and you'll find a hot girl" etc, after years and years of this you start to believe it.

80/20. 80% of the women are getting fucked by 20% of the men. I've seen users say this rule actually means 80% of casual sex is being had by 20% of the men, but the Illimitable Man, which is linked in the sidebar, just says number of men having sex. This is obviously false when you take things like relationships and marriages into account. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareto_principle It might not be exactly 80-20, but it is probably pretty close. They aren't really. What I'm saying is both are bad effects that the media has on people. If you think that "Nice Guys" who feel entitled to hot women and get angry and pissy when they don't get them is a bad thing, then the media promoting the idea that dorky nice guys get hot girls is a bad thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/17 04:25 PM
6

In the media for guys it's kind of the opposite message, for girls it's "you have to look beautiful and thin" for guys it's "you can be an awkward fat dork and still get the beautiful girl". That message is damaging because it causes awkward fat dork guys to expect to get a hot girl and be upset when they don't, and they usually blame girls.

Terrible idea and shitty thing to do if it's a long-term relationship or married though. Also it 100% depends on the girl. You can't give broad advice like "do this in every situation." Well if that's what "active dread" is, then I agree with you it's bad. Exactly. Most people don't realize how much the media influences. We spend hours/day watching TV/on the internet. The content we consume tremendously influences how we see the world. She's trying to play you. Would you feel bad and want to let him down easy?

Yea I agree with everything you said, except at the end of the show I think he gets Jennifer Anniston right? I'm not a huge Friends fan so I don't really remember. But I think the whole idea of him even getting with Jennifer Aniston is a little far-fetched. He's the dorky loser brother of her friend (once again I'm going by memory). So yea, they portray him as a loser, but he's the hero because he's a sympathetic loser who end up with the hottest character on the show.

Dude men and women are different. Women and women are different too. Some women LOVE getting attention from all sorts of men, love to flirt. Some women HATE getting attention from any but the absolute top 1% of men, and will over-react to any sort of male attention. A good amount of women here are these kinds of women.

Do you though? If you get it why are you trying to change their view? Men and women looks at sexuality very very differently because their experiences are very very different. Then they get robbed, lose all their stuff, so they think people who rob houses should be severely punished. You create a CMV on reddit for them: "poverty is a huge problem …

/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/17 02:15 PM

It was just that the male attention they got was from men they didn't want. Most women don't really see this as "attention", they see it as annoying, embarrassing, or harassment. It's negative, not positive for them.

Well I think part of the reason why most societies established marriage with no divorce for thousands of years was to control men AND women. Marriage is good for society, it results in stability, it's much better than people constant fighting each other and competing for mates. Now, in romantic comedies, the protagonist is portrayed as doing a particular action to "earn the woman", the woman is usually portrayed as a static object. You can see this in other instances, such as specific men being portrayed to earn women with money, muscles and other specific achievements. Spot on. This plus the "montage". Guy: "I want to improve my life". Cue montage of him working out in a gym, buying new clothes, etc. suddenly he has earned a cool car, nice house, and hot girl.

There would be more single women, and more competition between women for men. Male prostitution would be very profitable due to the excess of single women. Typically when society has an excess of single men it is instable and chaotic (see the wild west). When there is a surplus of single women societies are typically more stable.

Idk maybe most don't, maybe you don't. But a lot of women have high standards, and want a guy who is attractive and rich, and similar to men in romantic comedies. At least the women I know. I mean society tells women that's what is attractive and sexy, you can't really blame them. Just like you can't blame nice guys for following the messages the media tells them.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/17 05:17 PM
1

Well yea, and like you said, most men don't watch those movies. They watch the male fantasy, believe it to be reality, and then get made when it's not. The same way that women get upset when a Matthew McConaughey look-alike doesn't drop out of the sky, riding a motorcycle and whisk her away to his mansion.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/17 05:11 PM

By romantic comedies I mean Seth Rogan, Kevin James, Adam Sandler, American Pie, etc... These movies usually have a chubby/lazy/stupid/selfish protagonist who "becomes nicer" and wins the day, gets the hot girl.

Well I agree, I don't think TRP is necessarily a good thing, I admittedly don't know a lot about it and haven't "read the sidebar". Most ideological movements prey on people who feel bitter and fuel their sentiments of victimization, whether its TRP, democrats, republicans, feminists, Donald Trump, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/17 05:00 PM
4

The message of the Big Bang Theory is that weird looking, nerdy, anti-social guys can get hot girls by being nice to them. Same as every movie or show with Kevin James... Seth Rogan... Adam Sandler... The list goes on. The archetype sitcom is a the chubby funny/wimpy/whiney sympathetic guy with the smoking hot wife. Sure, the audience laughs at him, BUT HE ALSO HAS A SMOKING HOT WIFE! How are guys misunderstanding this?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/17 04:52 PM

You're not competing with women though, you're competing with other men... Like if you are trying to have an attention contest with women, you're always going to lose, that's like a rat trying to have an attention contest with an adorable little kitten. I guess the fact that women get an inordinate amount of attention compared to men is something that a lot of men don't understand, and is a useful thing to know.
/r/TheRedPill22/03/17 04:49 PM

I agree. I think TRP is about why guys are reacting poorly to rejection. Why are they being rejected so much. And what can they do to improve that?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/17 04:45 PM

Attractive men who expose weakness and vulnerability = attractive Unattractive men who expose weakness and vulnerability = unattractive Sluts with other high value qualities = attractive Sluts with no other high value qualities = unattractive I think a lot of TRP teaching you that certain things make you attractive. And when you are attractive you can do certain negative things and still be attractive.

So if a woman was logical, independent, high libido, capable, adventurous, aloof, decisive, direct, would you not consider her masculine?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/17 04:30 PM
6

Right, and the reason that TRP is popular because it provides a different perspective. It might not be a good thing, and it might not be right or work all the time, or even most of the time, but if it is even marginally better than their faulty "nice guy" perspective they will adopt it.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/17 04:15 PM
7

Well yea I agree. My point is a lot of guys are taught that it does. They are taught they don't even have to work hard, that they just need to be themselves, and be a gentlemen, and be a nice guy, and girls will like them. They want girls to be attracted to them, but they don't understand why they are not. And they do what they think will work, and it doesn't. So they get bitter and mad.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/17 04:12 PM
1

I agree that being feminine depends FAR more on looks than it does personality but you can't say that femininity and behavior are 100% unrelated. Like if you see a girl who works in construction, drives a truck, likes to go hunting and fishing, burps, farts, spends her nights drinking beer with the guys, and walks up to you and say "what's up bro!", would you consider her more masculine or more feminine?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/17 04:09 PM

Relationships and sex are all about working hard. You can absolutely work hard to BE attractive. If you work hard to get your life together and get a six pack and six-figure job, you will become more attractive no?

Idk, I don't think society loves this kind of woman at all. I think these kind of women have a MUCH harder time in our society. Like I work in a male-dominated field and most of the women who work with me are like this, and they definitely have a hard time. People are suspicious of these women for NOT being feminine. Like I said before, I think as a society we encourage women to be more feminine, like we expect women to be mothers, to have children, to want to have children. We expect them to be…

16

I think TRP shows how the sausage is made. As a society we celebrate the ends but we ignore the means, because they make us uncomfortable. Like as a society we are obsessed with sports and worship star athletes and coaches, but if there is an article about a successful college coach who motivates his players by yelling and screaming at them, acting like a brutal dictator society would look at that and say: "isn't that terrible", "it needs to stop". But if the coach's actions are successful and r…

Come on... to be feminine is to be beautiful, to be thin, to have long eyelashes and curves, to look like the feminine ideal. These images are perpetually forced down women's throats, and feminists rightly oppose it. Society, corporations and the media decide what being feminine means and women are shamed if they don't comply, the same way they do with masculinity.

Every romantic comedy ever Every sitcom ever A thousand years of chivalry embedded into western culture "It's what's on the inside that counts" Rich, good-looking, successful celebrities who say, "juts be yourself and follow your dreams", instead of saying the much more uncomfortable truth "I won the genetic lottery, and then I worked very hard and also got extremely lucky by becoming famous, you have a 1/1,000,000 chance of achieving what I have, life is unfair"

Yea but isn't being called "manly" an insult to a woman? And women are constantly barraged by the media to be more womanly, more feminine. Yes, men are taught that for them it's superior to me masculine than feminine, but women are also taught that for them it's superior for them to be considered feminine, and not masculine.

my advertising sucks but my product is great. This is a GREAT point that isn't discussed much. You could be a rich, great looking, jacked, interesting, funny, intelligent guy and if you spend all your time at work, and don't go out on weekends you will never get laid. And if you cram into a packed club on a Friday night full of high-status guys you will start getting laid slightly more. But if you become the coach of a local intermural basketball league, or bartender at a local hot spot, or teac…

being attacked is pretty different from being rejected i think. What do you mean by that? Like if a guy physically attacks a girl after he is rejected? Well yea, obviously that's much worse, I don't think that anyone is going to argue with you about that. And the only way that men will eventually realize that "be yourself" and "don't be an asshole" is the bare minimum, is if society stops telling them that it isn't the bare minimum.

I'm not saying that people can't have sex unless they follow the red pill, I'm saying certain guys have more sex by following the red pill then they do by acting like a nice guy. And then they reason: "following the red pill resulted in me having sex, being a nice guy didn't, therefore the red pill must be absolutely true and always work, while being a nice guy must be absolutely false and never work".

Well they make other people suffer because they are suffering. Rejection hurts. Nice Guys aren't really taught how to attract women, so they try being nice, it doesn't work, they get rejection, they get hurt, so they lash out.

it's my opinion that most women, if asked, disagree with you Disagree with me on what? And you're right, it's no one's responsibility but your own to not be an angry bitter person. My point is that most guys aren't taught how to attract women. So they do what they see in the media and pop culture, practice chivalry, etc., and they expect it to work, like it does in the movies. But it doesn't. So they get mad and lash out.

And they usually aren't even nice people Definitely true. I'd say it's primarily just that they are afraid of rejection and are too shy and thus don't ever dare to show genuine interest Definitely true they didn't ever notice that other people have a better dating strategy Right again. The thing is our society tells guys "be yourself, be nice to women and they will fall in love with you". So they try it and it doesn't work. When they act nice to girls it's NOT their real personality. It's a stra…

Treating women like children to get sex definitely won't work for all women, not even most women, but it will work for certain women. And if a guy can have sex with 2 or 3 women a year by taking the initiative and acting like a "bad boy", it would probably be better to do that in his eyes then sleeping with 0 women per year by acting like a nice guy.

Yea the problem is that Nice Guys are never really taught how to succeed on the job interview. They are taught: "Be pleasant on this job interview and you will get a job". This is reinforced constantly through the media and pop culture. So they keep going to job interviews but never get the job. And they have no idea why. So they become bitter, angry, and lash out.

So if I beat you up and you get angry at me, are you acting entitled because you don't want to get beaten up by me? Society tells men, "be yourself", "treat women like princesses", "don't be an asshole" and you will find a girl. Nice Guys try this and it doesn't work. So they get angry and bitter.

, "Nice" guys are still being entitled because they tend to believe that being this sweet, emotional guy should make the woman's other personal preferences irrelevant. I think that's a good point. Nice Guys are taught that being nice will make them successful with women, so they are naturally bitter, frustrated, and angry when they do what they are taught to do, and it doesn't work. Who wouldn't be? Society sends a lot of really shitty messages that mess people up. Like we say "It's what's on th…

Yea but almost everyone reacts poorly to adversity... Very few people, male or female, take rejection very well. I think men are criticized for handling rejection poorly because they are more frequently rejected. While women are criticized more frequently for complaining "where are all the good men?" etc., because they don't actually ask men out, so they don't get rejected.

I think most people overthink this. If you are hungry, does that mean you feel entitled to food? We are biologically wired to want sex and connection with other people. Why criticize people for feeling "entitled" for wanting to fulfill their basic human instincts?

Bob is more qualified, but he is not hired, because he is a man. Therefore, Bob loses out because he is a man.

How do you not understand this? Me and you are both applying for a job at Apple. Apple is under pressure to hire more women because there are more men then women working at Apple. We both go in for an interview. The people in charge of hiring meet and say: The man was a better candidate but we need to hire the woman because not enough women are working here. Therefore, the man has just objectively, not subjectively, lost out on that job.

I mean, men say this because they are bitter that women reject them and are frustrated because they can't control something that they want/need. That's a ridiculous and extreme quote, but women say similar things about how all men are assholes, liars, jerks, etc. - it's pretty basic human nature to lash out at something that frustrates you.

I don't really follow your logic. If two of us are going for a job and you're a woman and I'm a man, and the company has been told - we need to hire more women, so because of that they hire you - how am I not losing out?

laws against sagging pants Haha where do these seriously exist? Also there is HUGE difference between equality under the law and equal enforcement of the law. For a long time there were laws legalized blacks being treated as sub-human. These laws were repealed and no longer exist. Black now have equality under the law. However, cops, judges etc. do not always enforce laws equally. This is wrong and should be eliminated. However, it's much better than having white supremacists write laws justifyi…

If something is already equal, and you make it "more equal" by benefitting some people and harming others, of course those who benefit it will support it and those who are harmed will oppose it. This is very rational, very basic wanting what is best for oneself.

Of course you're going to be more upset at your gf/bf who cheated. You know them, you trust them, you love them, you've built a relationship with them. You're not gunna like the person who they hooked up with, but you're not gunna get as mad/be so hurt by someone you've never met and have no relationship with. I mean, if your wife cheats on you with you best friend or brother, you will probably be equally mad at both of them.

Great post. This is something old school men knew very well. The famous Bible verse talks about this: "Do not give what is holy to dogs; nor cast pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and tear you in pieces" That's some real shit. Never give something to someone who doesn't deserve it. They won't appreciate it and will start expecting more, and you'll become resentful and frustrated.
