Marriage isn't worth it, but getting into a partnership or a long-term relationship is the best alternative. Don't tie yourself down by a piece of paper.

Our divorce finalized on a Wednesday and the house closed on a Friday. I was a total mess that week, too many emotions at one time. Divorce sucks no matter how you look at it. I am no tough guy, it hurt and it still hurts

My marriage was toxic so no I don't regret the divorce from that aspect, I do regret losing the lifestyle we had though

My divorce began November of 2023 and it's nearing its end, house will be sold by the end of the month and the divorce should be finalized at the same point. I have been at the lowest I've ever been in my life but I feel myself coming back up so this quote fits well. I've been going through hell and I feel like I'm coming out the other side finally

I've been through it twice and just don't want to go through this nightmare again. I'll date and I'll find a relationship but there will be no marriage

I never did, she blindsided me by telling me she wanted a divorce in November

I just went through my divorce without lawyers, thankfully we were able to mutually work out things even though we really don't care for each other anymore. It's possible, but you have to be willing to work with each other and trust each other just enough to get through it.

As long as you get a GAL that is fair, things should be fine. I had a GAL that was a woman and pro woman so I had to fight for a lot of things but thankfully things turned out all right

Personally, unless it involves your son, stop helping her. She needs to learn on her own.

I don't hate all women, I only hate the one that I'm in the process of divorce with. Thankfully this divorce will be finalized the end of this month and things can start to heal. It's been a rough road and I won't deny there's been many times I've thought about giving up but I keep pushing on for the sake of my kids. Hopefully it all gets better here soon

Exactly and if anybody ever calls you a pussy or anything else for being so-called weak, you can tell them to fuck off. You have to handle this the way you need to. Don't let anybody else judge you for it
/r/Divorce_Men18/04/24 10:40 PM

You're dealing with more than most people can handle, I don't think anybody here is going to call you weak. You need to do what's right for you. I'm going through a mess myself, I'm seeing a therapist, I'm on medication. You do you, don't let the world dictate what you're supposed to do. Again, you're going through a lot, we all need help

Yes, my soon-to-be-ex went out and told her family and some of our closest friends things that made it look like she was completely innocent. Thankfully friends didn't believe her but her family did. It sucks because I was close with her family and now no one wants to talk to me but it is what it is. I'm just thankful the friends saw through her BS

I don't know about Texas, Wisconsin is 15% for one child 17% for two and I don't know how it goes above and beyond that. I was paying $1,400 a month when I had my first divorce. Thankfully their are no kids involved in my second divorce

The human psyche desires relationships, and there's nothing wrong with them as long as you only let them go as far as you want. I myself have been married twice and will never marry again but I haven't ruled out a relationship with a woman. I just need my time now to find myself again and make sure that's what I really want. But you can have relationships and not have marriage. You just have to be able to put a stake in the ground and stick with it.

No matter how much my soon to be ex has screamed at me, I have never had the want to be violent. I just sit there quietly and walk away once she's done. Violence is never the answer

Once you get out and you start to discover yourself again, it will get better. Right now you're heart broken and it takes a little while to get over that but once you do, things will definitely get better

Both showing they are narcissists, both showing they are control freaks and can never be wrong. Both loving to yell all the time

I've done it twice and I know I shouldn't have done it the second time but she came across as though things would be so much different. Three years later, things were back the way they were with my first. Now being 50 years old and much wiser, I'll never do it again. I'll find a nice relationship maybe but marriage will never be in the books again

Can't let that stuff get to you, as it was said in a previous post, need to set boundaries. Need to let your daughter know that you don't need to hear about what mom is doing, and you need to not worry about what she's doing. Need to start worrying about your own life and where you're headed

Because the world has this attitude that men are strong and can handle anything. It's also our own fault for hiding our emotions but that's also because of the world shunning us for being emotional and talking about problems. The world believes that men should be quiet about their feelings. Of course now there's the woman's movement out there where men are all dirt and not worth it which adds to all of this other stuff. It takes men to talk to men to get this stuff out because the rest of the wo…

I hate to say it, but get used to that lost feeling hang around for a while. If you can get yourself a therapist, I suggest doing it otherwise you're going to tear yourself to pieces trying to think over everything. It's a bitch and it doesn't get any easier. At least not for a while so find yourself some help.

If you have filed the paperwork already, then you can't make significant changes until the divorce is over with. At least that's how it is here in Wisconsin

Chalk it up to her just looking for attention, ignore it, and move on

It's why my soon to be ex asked for the divorce, she found out I was very unhappy because she gave up in the bedroom 10 years ago. Not saying I'm innocent in why the divorce is happening but yes, the lack of intimacy has been a major issue in our marriage and I've been very unhappy. I think I married a nun

When a divorce comes about, that means you separate your lives. You got to learn to move on past it and realize you need to do you and she's doing her. Everybody moves at their own pace.

I've been fighting sleep as well and I have medication to help me sleep and some nights I still can't fall asleep. My mind runs because I'm the one that has to move out of this house and find somewhere to live. I only work a part-time job because I've been trying to get disability but now I have to cancel the disability because I need to make more money to live on my own. Trust me, I know the thoughts and it's tough to overrun them.

How much trazodone do you take? My psychiatrist has me on 100 mg and it just doesn't seem to kick in like I'd hoped it would

Well if she's pregnant, then some of those words could be due to the hormonal changes. See how are things are a little while after the child is born, some women go through postpartum and can be just as rude during that. Maybe it's a phase, maybe it'll clear up after the pregnancy, I know it's a lot of maybes but I wouldn't jump at this moment yet

Totally whatever you feel cool with. The older they are, I think the sooner you can induce them to a new girlfriend as they'll understand it better.

You will go the full gauntlet of emotions, beginning in November I was told we were getting a divorce. I went through being completely miserable and crying at the drop of a hat to being angry and vengeful to now where all of that has settled down and I've come to grips with everything. You just have to let your mind go through the emotions and you will get to the other side.

My STBX is out with another women, kind of different in my book but I guess easier than dealing with a new man

Well I do know how it goes when they say they do everything and you know you do quite a bit. Honestly, that's something most women seem to do and I don't get it. I do so much around this house yet she tells her friends I don't do much. It is what it is and it sucks. As for feeling bad, I'm getting out of a toxic one myself and I still have my feelings for her so that's why I feel bad. Even when I divorced my first wife, I cried in court the day it was finalized because I knew a relationship had …

I look at Reddit like Facebook, yes I've posted things about myself. I didn't know that was not allowed? So you're going to take a snippet of my world and a very tiny snippet at that and assume so much? That's pretty petty. She loses plenty, she's the one that cut off the affection and physical side of our marriage almost 8 years ago. Again, you know it very tiny snippet of what goes on in my world, must be nice to be perfect and judge people

Ramble away, that's the best therapy we have, to talk about our issues and get things off our chest. That's why I came to this group, I didn't come to get questioned as to why I got married a second time and other things. I came to find a group that would at least be a bit supportive. Sorry you're dealing with that, it's a harsh thing to go through

Well you are right about being a party girl though, she loves to go out and have drinks and have her pot. Me, if I stay home and have a drink, I'm a drunk. At least in her mind. But then I get in trouble for not going out with her. I can't fucking win for losing

Well she's not a mother, we never had kids together. We just have dogs :-) and yes, her one complaint about me is I don't want to go out a lot, I have disabilities and it's not always fun for me to go out but I guess that's one thing I've done wrong amongst many other things that she keeps pointing out.

Sociopath narcissist for me, can never be wrong and shows the world a perfect face. Thankfully I have no kids in this one but I do have three dogs. Doesn't make it much easier in my book though

Because her girlfriend's pick her up all the time and take her out with them. Not saying she doesn't meet up with somebody but she's always out with the girlfriends
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 11:50 PM

Well she works from home 100% of the time so its more than likely isn't a co-worker. I think it's one of her BFFs

I can agree with the last part of your comment. The first few years of being married to my wife, everything with her mother seemed normal and then the crazy side showed up. The scary part is, my wife is starting to show that exact same side. Probably a good thing I'm getting out of this but at the same point, it blows my mind that things have fallen apart like this

We tried counseling several years ago and I'm not going to go through that mess again. I did everything I could to change and she didn't do anything. Appreciate the info

Ones widowed and the other one is single so yes :-) That's why I've already started to consider them. Plus I'm sure they're the ones that convinced her to divorce me as it is
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 06:42 PM

Yeah, especially since the one picks her up to go out 95% of the time
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 06:25 PM

It's something I've been wondering, she spends a lot of time out with one or two women all the time. Part of me wonders if she switched teams. It is what it is

I realized that I ended up marrying a sociopath narcissist, she didn't show this side till about 8 years into our marriage but it hasn't made things very easy. I know things will be better, just a lot of changes to go through at this point
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 05:46 PM

I shouldn't have gotten married the second time, I get it but putting me down for it isn't fair. She was totally different than my ex, she seemed to care a lot more for me and we had much more in common. Things were good till about 8 years into the marriage and that's when it started to fall apart. I don't care how good I find anybody from this point out, marriage is not worth it
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 05:44 PM

No kids in this marriage, just dogs. Still won't be easy with the dogs but at least there's not a financial burden like there was with kids in the first one
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 05:43 PM

I guess I thought this subreddit was about helping each other, not putting someone down but maybe I'm wrong.
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 05:32 PM

Actually I'm disabled so I can only do so much. Maybe that's part of the reason but there's more to it than that.
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 05:24 PM

Oh I shouldn't have gotten married the second time so don't worry, there never will be a third
