To be honest, I don't think this is necessarily COMPLETE bullshit; it just depends on what sort of discussion it is you're having about said movies. i.e. my SO and I discussed just how awful The Notebook is and how disgusting the messages about commitment and hypergamy that it sends are.

Yeah, Matt Walsh is old news, and this isn't even where the article was originally hosted (that was here - http://themattwalshblog.com/2014/01/23/if-i-cant-accept-you-at-your-worst-then-maybe-you-should-stop-being-so-horrible/), but I still think he's pretty good in a lot of ways. I think he needs to take more doses of the red pill and drop his residue mangina ways, but I wouldn't go so far as to call him unequivocally "blue pill." He's pretty anti-feminist (even though he doesn't go far enough …

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_testing Any paternity testing without a court order is banned [in France], due to the official desire to "preserve the peace" within French families, with the French government citing psychologists who state that fatherhood is determined by society rather than biology. French men often circumvent these laws by sending samples of DNA to foreign laboratories, but risk prosecution if caught. The maximum penalty for carrying out secret paternity testing is one y…

If you say this, though, you're a reason they need feminism. Just do it. Report back.

lmfao yeah alarm bells went off for me at that bit generally "he should prove himself" is nullified by "but the other guys didn't have to prove themselves!" so the hamstering here (I thought they wanted a relationship but they just left!) is basically a way of rationalizing that away in order to nullify that back in return

So in that case, what is a useful primer for what is hamstering, and what is an honest assessment of a prior mistake?

...yes, which is why I'm talking about hindsight when it comes to poor decisions. What constitutes a hamster rationalization of a poor decision, and what constitutes a decision that's simply recognized as bad with an honest self-appraisal in the aftermath? I gave the two quotes as examples of women who acknowledge that they have made poor decisions, but the question is how does one assess if the hamster is running wild or not in that.

But after determining that Marotta wasn't an anonymous donor, the Kansas Department for Children and Families filed the case in October 2012, demanding that Marotta pay child support and for the child's birth. The two women contend they are the parents, but the judge found they did not follow state law saying donors only give up their rights when they use a physician for artificial insemination and sign certain documents. Looks like that this is a state initiative white-knighting for the "mother…

If the lesbian mothers contend that they are the parents and don't want him to be liable, they'll transfer all the money he pays in child support straight back to him.

This is actually my struggle at the moment - my LTR (who I'm planning on asking to marry me soon) has only had a single sexual partner, and it was in her senior year of high school (so a significant number of years ago at this point). However, even though she says that they obviously liked each other on some level, she knew she could never love him, and that he obviously didn't love her and never introduced her to anyone as his girlfriend, never treated her as such, never took her out, and basic…

I don't live in North America but lmfao imagine telling the person without irreversible unnecessary surgery on his penis that he's the "butthurt" one

I don't even get the thing of "cut dicks look better." If you're uncircumcised, then pull your foreskin back. Ta-da! Instant "circumcision," with no irreversible effects. Looks exactly the same, as long as your practice basic hygiene, and creates a ridge that in fact stimulates the woman during sex. Win-win.

Just out of curiosity, what countries are the two of you from? Let me guess, you're from either the UK or Australia, and she's from somewhere in Central Europe?

Hypergamy is "good" in the sense that in a society where pre-marital chastity and post-marital fidelity and loyalty were backed up and ensured by social pressure and religious values, it gave men an incentive to build up their value and status as much as possible so that they would have their pick of all the women who were going to want to "marry up." In the post-feminist promiscuity-celebrating world we live in now, however, hypergamy manifests as consistently "upgrading" until the point comes …

Obviously when it comes to selecting a wife, a virgin bride/girlfriend is the ideal, but what, in the opinion of the frequent posters here, is the threshold for the point at which a woman becomes unfit to be marriage material? What is the point at which she can be said to be riding the carousel if it is not at the point of simply not being a virgin? What mitigating factors come into play that are simply not hamstering or rationalizing (and according to a lot of RP men, any notion of a woman cons…

But even then, there are gradients between a ONS/tramping around and a LTR/committed relationship - not trying to justify, but I'm trying to figure out the degree of baggage here depending on the circumstances. Say, for example, it was a single partner in one's youth with whom there was already tension and attraction for an extended period of time, things got out of hand and it became a long-ish term sexual relationship (which in hindsight should not have happened), but that regardless of the fe…
