Yeah, I agree, always look for other options & give 'em a try, stagnation = death. Much as I love Reddit, I enjoy other sources of information as well. Tough thing here is developing the "skim skill" that lets you recognize and discard repeated or entirely opinion pieces quickly (which sometimes feels like it makes up 90% of the site). I have to say though, if you have a question about some random esoteric thing, you'll likely find someone with the answer here.

Sure, if you subscribe to /r/cats then you get the drivel you deserve, but many of us actually filter the garbage and have a lovely Reddit experience based on our subreddit selections. I'd have to read the NYT, Economist, science journals and more for a solid week to find the same treasure trove of great info that I find here in a day. Better yet, by finding these things online, I can immediately search for more information for the topics I'm really taken with.

A friend of mine who does fetish modeling is also one of those people with an "oh I just taught myself Latin because I was bored" level of intelligence. She's been debating on PhD or JD, but in the meantime she also occasionally would strip as a featured act (she's well known in rubber/latex fetish circles) and would clear over $5k in a night stripping. Ditto. Love the site, met my GF there. The quality of users both male and female is at a higher level than the pay sites. Additionally the quizzes and blogs are great & even non-single folk participate on a large scale. More a community than just a dating site. Still, you can't blame the OkC guys, $50M is a lot of cash.

Some yes, some no. I was good friends with and eventually dated a girl who was a 10 in most people's books (and I'm in California). Thing is she was actually quite an awesome person on many levels.
