Stop caring. Think of her as replaceable. Really drill it into your brain. If you truly loved her you have to realize that the love was all just you and just in your head. It never really existed. Tis but a figment of your imagination, an ideal that men hold onto so we don't bolt after a woman gets knocked up. It wasn't real. This is a very bitter pill to swallow but one you need to internalize. She will never love you like you love her. So kill those thoughts. Keep being awesome and enjoy her w…

Put down the game controller Do 100 push-ups Open your books and start screaming at them Thats it. That's all you have to do. If you need help check out the pomodoro technique for maintaining focus but at the end of the day you have to just do it. Start with the exercise and burn off some of that teen energy. Also the Procrastination Equation book is really insightful.

If she really has depression and is not faking it for sympathy you should not care one bit. If she has had depression for a while then it is great that she has had a diagnosis and might be able to get some better treatment. Depression probably can't be cured but it can often be treated. She has to do all the work. It is all on her. Your job, at most, will be to plan for medical expenses and to maybe understand side effects of medication. Some of the head pills that can be prescribed can really f…

9 days, 9 months, 9 years, it all has the same value to her. Actually I take that back, 9 years is much less valuable to her than 9 days while the rush is still going. You value the years. She just gets more annoyed with her ATM because it keeps talking like it has a soul.

The issue is that you are using clearly defined rules, logic, and parameters to try and communicate with a woman about sex. Streight forward doesn't work and will just get you into an argument. She has to want to do these things because you said "I'm doing this, let's go." Sidebar, grasshopper.

If you are serious then burn your MBA style checklist and read the sidebar a few times. And good luck. 😁

A+ for effort, either in your trolling or your expectations with your gf. And good luck.

Hell, ignore the mother for right now. This kid is going from a 24 year old worried about plates who promise they are on the pill (haha...) to being a full time father for for the next 20 or so years. He needs to be honest with himself.

Good for you. Don't mix her and your finances. Put the kid above all else. Get a lawyer. And read the sidebar 100 times over.

Not at all, you are a few weeks. You may be financially responsible for the kid but that is very different than being a father.

Do you want to be a father at 25? Your life as you know it will be over.

That is a fine field of landmines you have put yourself into. A lease is a financial responsibility and agreement that you are entering into but honestly that is the least of your worries. Just figure out the terms and plan for the worst case (you responsible for it all even if you are living in your car) and figure out if you can swallow that. If you want to play house make sure you don't plan on things lasting more than 3 years.

You have time to post and to be defensive. Chill out, man. Take your time and take some time to read and to think. You are still raging.

Number 3 will dry up faster than the ink on the marriage license. The rest are average stable human attributes. Looks fade but attitudes grow stronger. You are in school and starting a business. She will drag you down, complaining the entire way.

Well, a little bit of pain to untangle yourself but not bad. It's not as if you had shares finances or a legal marriage, common law or kids situation. It won't get better. She thinks she has you under her thumb and you now know how she will act given the first chance.

So you would be a happy camper watching over the kid while he causes as much trouble as possible (because that's what happy kids do) and just chilling? You expect no non kid time that you will wish you had done the thing or seen the sights on?

"You know who's fault this is don't you" me: "yeah mine This is incorrect. Both for you and the OP (and myself because I've fallen for this as well). It's not just your fault. Someone made an entitled demand for you to act like a good little dog and fetch knowing full well that the social group pressure would be on her side. You said no. If this were a different setting without sex and predefined roles (aka pecking orders) your "no" would have been fine. Its your fault for being an independent p…

Trust your gut, start the go plan. This was not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last. She doesn't respect you and you shouldn't waste time fooling yourself into thinking you can earn it. You have been cucked. She chose to live her life this way, you get to choose how to live yours. Now it's all about you, you, and you. Rise, pheonix, rise! And get tested.

You can listen but for your sake STFU. Don't argue any points and don't acknowledge things beyond a "humm..." or other non-committal response. But this is a good time to reflect. These types of conversations are her demanding (indirectly, of course) that you give more. More attention, more care, more simping. She is asking you to change how she feels about you. Basically to become more like her and live in emotion. If you do she will dispise you but it will make her happy for a little bit. She w…

It is a long mindfuck. You are being asked to sit for hours and be lectured on why she is upset. With hints that you should change or she will be "unhappy" and might leave. During this long lecture she will be picking your brain and updating the list of weaknesses that you have. She will poke at your boundaries and figure out just how far she can push you, what buttons to push, what cuts really deep. Let's work on the relationship is information gathering and training. Do not engage.

One or two things to consider. Not all states are created equal with regard to custody laws. You need to figure that out ASAP. If you are moving to one that is unfavorable to fathers then act now. Get yourself a lawyer, start counciling and cry about your feelings, etc etc. Most importantly focus on yourself. Lift, diet, squirrel away YOUR money. Work so hard on yourself that you can smile at the ugly bastard in the mirror. There is no "deal" to take here. You are done in her eyes and with her m…

This is going to hurt but you have to hear it. You are now the backup husband, a beta orbiter and she is getting off on your affection and pain. She has been sheltered her whole life and hasn't really "stretched her wings" or "lived" yet and is now doing that. The emotional high from all the attention of getting married has worn off and she is out getting her next fix: being the "bad girl" she always wanted to be, just like her friends. You just were too much in the way. But hay, at least after …

Don't do it. If you stay the course with MRP principles you may be able to weather the 2-3 year "disinterest" of a woman's commitment a few times but you will have to be constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY passing tests. You will, at some point, be having to make an escape strategy so you don't end up homeless. That and the wall. If you are doing it for kids think about what the world will be like in 20 years with rising oceans and tempatures. Famine, wars, antibiotic resistant diseases, zero priv…

I have a mission. It isn't my wife. This bit right here. This is what I focus on. My mission is my life, not my wife.

A) She's gotten rid of any evidence on her phone of any cheating Yup. But probably kept some channel open. C) The changes I've made have caused her to want to try to rebuild the relationship There is no relationship or commitment, there is just her feelings in the moment. You are tolerable right now, with maybe some potential. 6 weeks in she isn't scared yet. D) She developed feelings for some chad during my drunk captain period, or got revenge on me by having sex with some chad(s), and may want…

Fortunately men are do-ers and that is our primary value to women. So you can be an ugly fuck face and still get attention. Because you get crap done. My suggestion would be to get ripped, focus on you and your goals, and practice your DGAF asshole face. Even if you get work done you will need the rest.

Whelp, if you think a betrayed wife might endanger your relationship with the kiddos you should come clean, be sorry, and take responsibility. You screwed up in your selection and in getting caught so own it.

I'm assuming the only way to beat her game is to come clean inside my own frame, not hers? The only way to beat the crazy game is not to play. No contact with your plate. There is no negotiating with terrorists.

She has no other prospects Yeah she does. You just don't recognize them as such. Yet. I just want my family to survive this shit. Kids?

Well, you got what you wanted to then. Why the fear?
/r/askMRP24/09/18 05:27 PM

My immediate advice would be to go completely no contact with the crazy. She is using threats and fear to control you and it is working. You are playing her game and she will always win. There is no damage control here, there is just how you handle it. If you are higher value to your wife than any of her other prospects she will probably stick around. If you are not you may want to beg forgiveness and work on improving yourself, step up and take the lumps. If you do tell your wife, please be adu…

The time to leave was a while ago. Ask yourself this question: if she were to get super duper pissed and shake her jiggly fist at you, what is the worst she could do? Rape you in a divorce, make your life hell for maybe a year? At 300+ lbs, 4 years older than you she is going to rape you anyway. And your life is already hell. My advice would be to STOP catering to her needs, especially the food. Sounds like she has had plenty of that already. If it is just you two you can get by on $100 / $200 a…

This makes sense to me and mentally replacing "love" with "need" in conversations is the feeling I've had for a while. To take it a step further you could substitute "want" in there as well which is a bit more accurate. Then "I love you" becomes "I want you" or more specifically "I want you to keep providing and keep me safe and stable" or "I want your attention and access to your body", "I want you to help raise the kiddos." In the case of the sucker who is trying to cover for straying he wants…

I'm happy doing me. Fun job, things I find interesting, raising the kids. Wife and I are back together in the same house and are working through some things. The issue I have is that even if we can work though stuff and can find a nice RP style balance that I will have to maintain it every day forever. At the end of the day the wife is an emotional teenager with shakey loyalty. That's a very different commitment than the one I falsely believed in when we married. Basically looking for some tales…

Your comments about the social power struggles are very true. I personally find that stuff exhausting in any meaningful dose and am very much a doer technical kind of person. What you haven't figured out yet is what you want. You're still working through to your independence, even if you've made great strides to that end already. I want to be free. To just be me. When I come home I just want to do my crap, work on things I find interesting, or sit on my rear. I don't want to have to be on guard …

To be fair for the longest time I was feeding myself BS faster than she could. Double fisting it at the all you can eat buffet. The frame reference is accurate at times but more often than not it is a "meh". Hence my "what is love" OT.

I'm well down the path of living life for myself and all the self improvement stuff. But I do it for myself because it's what I want to do. She likes some bits which makes my life a little easier. What I've discovered is that I no longer need a wife or a companion. In fact many situations would be improved without one. Time is one thing I will get more of and I'm struggling to justify the cost of maintaining a marriage. Companionship is something I desire but I can no longer see that with a wife…
