I think more would have been achieved if the content of the class was discussed rather than the idea of the class. It's very difficult to win an argument against something called a consent class if your audience hasn't already encountered something similar.

No that was policy put up by the opposition during the last election. They are still the opposition. The law defines rape here as penetration with a penis, so yeah. Women aren't counted as rapists.

I had just finished reading this story http://m.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11286287 on a convicted rapist assaulting two females in christchurch and was left thinking, "with shit like this in the world it's no wonder why women do have a bit of fear of men". The subject link of a group of girls battering strangers outside their homes reminded me that there are just some sick people in the world.

I don't think there is anything too bad in this article itself, but does anyone else immediately question the validity of these girl's story because of the sheer volume of stories you hear about women using rape to get out of trouble for something? I would like to believe that that's not the case in this instance, but my reaction to reading this has really shocked me. Does anyone else feel the same?

I would like to clear up my earlier comment and just say that I don't think anyone should be punished in this case. But the way this article was written, regardless of why the boys received the punishment and why the girl did not, definitely pushed the idea that the boys definitely did something wrong while the girl had no agency in the whole affair.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that the girl needed to be expelled from a school she didn't attend What this article illustrates is that even in consensual sex, boys are seen as aggressive parties while girls are automatically branded victims of male lust, even when all indications point to the girl instigating the behavior. There was seemingly no move to punish the girl at all while the boys got a knee jerk expulsion... For something that didn't happen in school grounds or hours.

You're exactly right. Which is why women can't rape. They are excused from ever being accused of rape because their genitals are internal. If women were declared unable to anything else in the law because they lack a penis, the feminists would be all over it like a rash... They just don't mind when their sex excludes them from the bad things.

Posting this same story on my facebook feed really brought out the angry women in my life. Immediately I was told this wasn't a priority. All further conversation was explaining that men don't actually have any problems. I weep at the state of this world.

Is this not men's rights? I'm pointing out a group that labels the sexual exploitation of human beings as a problem purely driven by the vices of men. I don't know where else I would go with this. In this website there are tests to take to see how evolved you are as a man, this is dependent on how you view your sexuality. Huge acts of shaming and blaming men. It's truly awful.
