Ooooh a train loop sounds perfect! He gets steak and bourbon pretty regularly so I’m not sure if that would be something special. Thanks so much 😊

Love Bon Ami! I get it from Grove Co.

Welcome to the community! Being religious is definitely not a requirement, and many of us are not. Congrats on therapy, too! Just a note on losing weight - a low carb diet is a great idea, but the only way to lose weight is by tracking your calories in, calories out (CICO). Calculate your TDEE, download an app like LoseIt! or MyFitnessPal, get yourself a food scale, and stay honest. It's simple, not easy. It is possible to lose 8 pounds in a month. You can do it!

I am being a FREAK about wedding planning. STFU has just been thrown out the window. We had a nice long talk and I’ve calmed down, but seriously! Planning a wedding is very stressful. I wish we could elope 😩

That was the goal. As timeless as possible! I'm a pale redhead so rose gold ends up looking best on me 😊 thank you so much!

We for sure have the same hair & cut! The CGM has changed my life for real.

It sounds like we have very similar hair. Mine is usually out of control and frizzy, too! Shameless plug for /r/curlyhair though. Ever since I've been following the curly girl method my hair has been incredible. Turns out, I have curlier hair than I thought and I've had almost zero frizz. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love romance novels, especially historical ones. I would recommend anything by Mary Balogh. The best way to read these is a library card. My local library allows kindle books online to check out.

Bar Keepers Friend all the way! They have a special glass cooktop solution, but I find that the original stuff is better/cheaper.

Yes yes yes! I've literally even searched secular homemaking and there's nothing out there.

Hi guys! I'm MrsRaulDuke and I'm 26, living with my SO, working towards marriage. We're in the process of house hunting! I love to cook and listen to podcasts. I've been listening to One Extraordinary Marriage lately. I'm an avid reader and my SO and I like to do adventurous things. I hope this community gets a little more active. I'd love to see (and contribute to) more homemaking and cooking posts!

I know I'm not OP, but I love historical romance novels. They're usually quite traditional and almost always have elements of an RP relationship. My favorite author is Mary Balogh.

May goals: * get to the gym at (bare minimum) 3 times a week * incorporate meatless mondays * plan exciting date day - maybe a hike?

I love it! It's my first time and I'm so glad my boyfriend suggested it.

I absolutely agree! My boyfriend is a veteran and I was iffy on his gun ownership until he took me shooting this past Sunday. It. Was. Amazing. I felt super empowered after actually firing it and reassured after realizing that the gun itself was safe behind 3 locks. Side note: it was super hot watching him shoot.

I've been on a pretty good streak lately. I'm very committed to self-improvement and I've been seeing the benefits. Anyway - here are my April goals! Lose 4 pounds. This one might be tough because I'm going on a cruise at the end of the month. So much good food to tempt me. Host a successful dinner/game night. I'm so excited for this one. Continue working towards being a soft place to land. Read 3 books. I'm reading The Stranger by Albert Camus right now. It's...interesting to say the least.

I keep it neatly trimmed. I used to shave it completely bare, but my razor bumps were TERRIBLE. I let it grow a little, and my boyfriend actually says he prefers it. Honestly, I feel sexier when I don't have razor bumps. Do what makes you most comfortable.

Same here! I don't drink and sometimes I can feel a little out of place at a social event when there's lots of alcohol. My boyfriend likes to remind me that Dax and Kristen don't either and it never fails to make me feel better :)

Definitely buy a food scale in addition to counting calories. Eyeballing doesn't cut it when you're really trying to lose weight.

Good call! I want him to put all his energy into studying, not worrying about the house or anything silly. Thanks!

He's been going to a local coffee shop to study, but I think you're right. I'll make some good food then get out of the way so he can study in the house. Thanks for the insight!

What I think is REALLY wrong with it is how it makes her seem. I'm sure she does things for her husband but the things she's talking about seem unnecessary and make her look helpless. Why didn't she have her wallet in the first place? Why does her 5-year-old have homework and why didn't they do it the night before - maybe while Dad was doing the dishes? If it was her turn to do the grocery shopping and she forgot the milk, can't she go grab a gallon? She doesn't respect what he wants to do and e…

Haha I messaged my sister and said "This chick does not have a husband...she's got a slave!"

Exactly! Why would she expect him to watch her on the dance floor "long after he wanted to leave"? Maybe just compromise and leave a little sooner? Doesn't make sense to me.

I didn't think about it being one-sided. For all I know, her husband says things like this about her. But the way it was worded just irked me. Thanks for the insight :)

Right? She can't work on the kid's homework at night? She HAS to watch This Is Us?

I bake a little for money on the side and I just made these for a coworker's son's birthday. I just bought some new cookie cutters and I can't wait to try them out!

It's super easy to make your own sauce and much tastier/healthier! I usually use a large can of stewed tomatoes and blend it with a few cloves of garlic. Then I add a smaller can of petite diced tomatoes, a can of tomato paste and some Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, pepper, and just a little bit of sugar. I also brown my meat with some onion. Just a thought!

I've been lurking for a while but I'm finally becoming more active! • My favorite quote right now is one I found in The Surrendered Wife: "Lord, please fill my mouth with worthwhile stuff, and nudge me when I've said enough". I find this particularly true with my fiancé when I'm upset. I'm new to RPW but I'm working on it! • Lizzy Pearl - a fabulous stripper name! • I just watched Slow Learners. It's got some really great and really terrible messages all in one regarding relationships. It's a re…
