I might actually be the physical embodiment of jealousy. I'm very insecure, which I'm working on, but literally everyone I've ever dated (aside from one person that rejected me for alcohol and another that came out later) was either passively looking for better (and made sure I knew it), using me to try to get to another girl, or was actively cheating on me, so I feel like I've earned a little trauma responses, as a treat.

Yep. Meeting through friends/family is touted as the gold standard, but in my experience they don't know anyone or they have trash, just in lower quantities. My mother tried setting me up with the sons of her friends/coworkers once (I hadn't asked). Our only conversation about it was just her being appalled at the level of trash she was being presented with. The highlight was a 23 year old that already had a kid and had filed for bankruptcy after he tried to buy a house and it got foreclosed.

Same. I all but dig through my matches' trash now.

I need more female friends. The four that I have, two are single with no prospects of their own, one I tried it with has only trash as well (her fiance is garbage) and the other is single and searching her other friends for dates.

It is. The guys I meet irl aren't even better though, and I get a higher percentage of closet cases.

I hate online dating, but offline dating is impossible, and I have to admit that the quality isn't better, it's just that you don't have to see the sheer quantity of trash in one sitting.

I'm genetically likely to hit menopause at 40 at the latest. I don't have forever at all.

I'm so done with OLD that I'm actually about to start a separate bank account specifically for dating/starting a family purposes. After COVID is over and I have over a year at my current job, I'm going to try a matchmaker (not online, run by actual people). I'll give that until I'm 32-35 (depending on my uterus) and then move on to single motherhood with a sperm donor after that. 7-12 YEARS of dating as an adult (ie. graduated college and working "real" jobs) with 7+ years of those with paid hel…

Yeah I'm getting there. I'm overweight but still under 200 pounds. Men only are interested in me for casual sex. Even my two decent exes show signs of this now. It's disgusting. I am starting to really hate dealing with men in more than a professional context. I don't want to be like this. :(

All I can think of with that is the age old adage "What have we gained and what have we lost?". 🤷🏻‍♀️

Imagine doing that if you don't have some kind of extreme health situation. The only person I've personally known who did this had layers of physical issues, and the only bathroom he had was gross (out of his control) and required effort to get to. Even he used bottles with a lid and had them empty and rinsed out in the sink when people were around.

I only like sex in theory, with my actual body it's very difficult and I have to spend the entire time figuring out how the thing can be possible. My body isn't built for sex or penetration with anything. I have a small mouth, a strong gag reflex, small hands with spindly fingers, and anatomical problems with my reproductive system that go beyond vaginismus, although that's still in there. Oral is only possible with me only really doing the head, and there WILL be teeth because I don't have that…

Getting hard doesn't mean that their penis works. If they're on antidepressants and/or have severe issues that could only be part of the problem. Both had no issue getting hard from kissing, it was everything else that was an absolute nightmare. The one on meds couldn't climax at all and the one that could only could from a specific sex act that was humiliating and only didn't hurt me because he had a small frame.

Not really. My first real partner was completely different making out to actual sexual activity.

All of my sexual encounters (beyond making out) were at best "lay back and think of England" events and at worst very traumatic (still consensual). I would love to have an orgasm that I didn't work for myself and an encounter I don't need to talk through with a friend so I don't check myself into the psych ward. I'm not sure why I've experienced this, but both real sexual partners I've had has the opposite problem. They lasted FOREVER, which is a red flag too. Both of them were that way because …

I think setting a time limit is arbitrary, especially in 2020. Someone that's perfectly reasonable could have been single for much longer than they normally would be due to the pandemic. I think the specific situation is more important

I unfortunately have to because I'm kind of autistic and am required to view/alter myself and my behavior based on other people's reactions (I don't let men know this for obvious reasons). I can't really trust myself beyond my feelings and making sure I'm not consenting to more than I'm okay with. I have to internalize rejection and look at it as "what should I be doing/not doing?". If I didn't have to do it, I would just try to forget that the experience ever happened.

I've accepted that I will need to start going much older (28-32) instead of the range that I think is normal (24/25-28). I'm going to be 25 in November. 🤦

Yeah my toxic relationship with my ex led to fringe sexual things that I wouldn't do or necessarily offer in another relationship. Not because it was "special" or another dude wouldn't be "worthy" but because I don't really like it and only put up with it then out of pressure to "be more normal".

It can be, BUT there are perfectly legitimate reasons that this could happen. A close friend that I've been low-key in love with for years doesn't speak to his mother at all and hates her, but it's completely understandable. She is very mentally ill and was horribly abusive. He has good relationships with his other parents and stepparents, and is a really nice guy. What I'm trying to say is that there has to be a story there.

Oof. I have an irl date with someone I've been zooming with for the last almost 3 months and I'm scared of this. While I've caught feelings a little bit and I'm not currently active on dating sites, I am being careful to keep it away from my or his places and all that. I feel like I should note that this is the first time I've done a prolonged "online relationship", and I absolutely didn't mean to. I literally was scrolling on tinder because I enjoy window shopping for weird people to take scree…

I definitely agree with this, but this could also last years. People have hormones and they will be aging all through this. It's not realistic to wait forever when there's no timeline.

I can't stand OkCupid, and hinge grosses me out because it shares full name if you match. I wasn't going to meet anyone, but I ended up meeting someone in April and have been having Zoom calls with them multiple times a week for two months. Things are open enough for a real date (ie. not going to their house and not planning to go to mine) and at this point I mentally can't cope with going into MONTH THREE of an online relationship. Edit: apparently I can! If it storms tomorrow like it's suppose…

My understanding is that it's an early dating stage where you're figuring out if you're sure about the person. I would think it's like a month or so at most. I also have never understood this to include sex or a ton of intimate physical contact. That a lot of people think it does is news to me.

What???? A normal "talking" stage would be 2-4 weeks, not YEARS. I can definitely see a maximum of 3 months in special circumstances, but not much longer. I've technically been in a talking stage for two months but it also wasn't possible for us to meet in public for 99% of that time due to lockdowns so that's different. I can see it also for distance, family, and age related issues as well. My understanding and how I've done it is that the talking stage doesn't involve sex or even a ton of inti…

I've been zoom dating someone for coming on two months now. I'm basically treating it like a friendship that could become more later, which also means no sexual talk or cyber... activities besides air kisses. I think it's fine because it's not preventing me from something I could have or anything, and if it did I would drop it. Also I wouldn't have him over or go to his house at this time. Note that he hasn't asked me for anything, I just have the "no" on deck lmao.

I've actually had one for 6 weeks. It's good but also crazy making for the reason of "why the f does this person care?"

I'm conflicted. I actually have been "zoom dating" someone for the past 6 weeks. Never met them in person, texting almost daily. Pro, both in general and dude specific: more time to practice flirting in a safe environment, which I need. I can block him forever the second something happens. more effective way of keeping up social skills than just text/audio with family and friends dude has shown signs of not being the worst he can be, he did once pay for online tickets ($10) to something (I never…

I've never had this normalized. No man I've ever been involved with has even asked, and the one time it came up in conversation with one of them (due to someone else's getting leaked), he said he didn't see the point and wasn't interested, and he was a terrible person on a lot of other things.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/04/20 11:37 AM

I've never considered this, and shockingly, I've never been asked, even when I had an actual boyfriend. I am currently online dating someone and if he asked me to do anything on cam or send nudes it would be an instant blocking. I do air kisses, which might earn me teasing later but it's not blackmail.

It's actually fairly easy. Most full names can be found on Facebook if you have a first name, town, and job/college to sort by. From there, start googling. If I can't find a satisfactory amount of information, I ghost.

I'm commenting again because this is a horrifying thing that just happened to me. So my ex who I last had contact with in November has slept with sw in the past, very likely less than a year ago. One of the questions asked for blood donation is if you've slept with a sw in the last 12 months. I asked about if you've slept with someone that has, and apparently, after discussion with multiple red cross workers and telling the situation multiple times because they won't just let that go, IT. COUNTS…

There are! My ex was like that. I tried not to care, but I did. We broke off a month later, and that wasn't even in the top 4 of terrible things. Update! I can't donate blood now apparently. It COUNTS.

I accidentally did this one. To be fair to me, I didn't know until we were in an actual relationship and he seemed to have a healthy amount of shame over it. Somehow that didn't even rank in the worst things he did to me.

I want a relationship because the hormone rush I get from physical affection is the only time I feel alive. I deal with jealousy because I've had too many times of being second choice but I'm dealing.

I was against it wholesale, but as I've gotten older there's a very specific type of single dad I'd allow. The mother must be deceased and he must have had a good relationship with her prior. The kid(s) must be too young to remember her, and there can be a max of 2. He must want more kids and marriage. No single dad has all 3.

I have no issue with anyone online dating right now. It's a nice way to kill time. It's people trying to go irl that are the problem. I'm perfectly fine with online only.

Yeah I've accepted that all men are trash in some way, it's just picking what kind of trash you can deal with if you need a relationship for whatever reason or want children. Of the "best" men in my age group, one is likely pedo-leaning (if not in the closet) and the other is a severe alcoholic.

I kind of hate that I can't confidently say I'm a virgin anymore (basically just the tip, it is actually debatable if any penetration occurred) because I miss having that trump card/pass in dating. Now I have the medical issues awkward discussion, and it's...worse. I will say that dating as a virgin as an adult is interesting. It is harder because there is a mental level of "achievement not unlocked" that is hard to get over, but also men expect less of you sexually and (subconsciously) hold you…

" they do not take the mother's word for it" LOL. They most certainly do take the mother's word as law. I'm an adoptee. The things my biomom said and wrote are treated as fact in the court (where I'm concerned) still today. I'm even on paper as the incorrect blood type because of it, as well as some other things.

All it's for is government book keeping anyway. Lol especially in adoption. Plus side for me is that if there is a legal issue for either my brother or myself to where we would have to have the status of married (taxes, immigration, a court case) we could marry each other as we're not legally related due to my birth records being falsified in my adoption. Pretty wild lol.

it could, yes, but it's much more unlikely and at that point the offspring would be born, there'd be a way to trace it.
