yeah i understand it's a total double standard, i just think it's a victimless crime when a boy is the one pursuing it or pushing for it to happen. Yes, totally plausible that a young girl could be pushing for it too, but I still see that as being worse than a young boy pushing for the same thing. I totally acknowledge the double standard. as a dad i would be less angry if it happened to my son, but furious if it happened to my daughter.

Of course Carlin/Hicks used sarcasm, but the foundation of what they were saying was still based on beliefs they held. Sarcasm was used only to reinforce whatever point they were trying to get across. I didn't pick up on any sarcasm by Louis here, not that it would have mattered any way. Even if he used some hyperbole (which I don't think he was), the core of his argument doesn't change; women should be afraid of men.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think stand up routines are rooted in real life experiences and real feelings. The best comedians are pouring their personal feelings out on stage, they just frame their feelings in a way that makes the audience laugh. It doesn't mean they don't believe what they are saying, or are only saying it to get a laugh. Comedians like Bill Hicks and Carlin believed every word that they said. Louis is also a comedian that means what he says.
