Rough dayI'll be honest, another part of my low of the lows, was going to a nearby bar every night and spending way too much money, hanging out with people, I normally would never associate with. Met women that I normally would never have given the time of day to. I vividly remember one night. Sitting outside of a baptist church at 2am cussing at God. Why me??? why me??? Whether you believe in God, or not, you can handle anything the world throws at you. Took me about a month or so, to realize that befor… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/26 06:50 PM
Rough dayQuite honestly... i quit my job and moved across country down another job found another place to live. At the time I had no kids. So there was nothing holding me there. Obviously with kids you can't do that. Maybe move an hour away. That's gonna be a personal choice on you, though. Close enough to be able to get the kids, but not close enough to be at your ex wife's beckon call. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/26 06:45 PM
Rough dayFirst off, let me start by saying "Congratulations". I mean that as you realizing that you were spending so much of your energy on trying to make things work. It's very exhausting. I myself have been there. The day I decided to divorce my alcoholic wife it felt like the weight of the world was finally off my shoulders. Now, you get to spend that energy on rebuilding you and your life. You get to figure out who you are, and build your new identity. You get to build for your success and your kids'… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/26 03:12 PM
Why do I constantly imagine how great her life Is?Ill guarantee you, she's not imagining how great your life is or isn't. Why waste time and energy on her. Does she really need to live rent free in your mind? Just remember, there's a reason she's your ex. It doesn't matter if it's your fault or not. You need to move on. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/26 06:50 PM

How to cope with separation. What do you do??? Work on yourself. Go to the gym, get swole. Make money, save it, invest it, and carry on. Be there for your kids. There are other women out there. Oh, and live happily ever after. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/08/26 02:18 AM
DivorcingOkay outstanding. I know it seems like a grueling endless process. I have a finance degree and I quit my job because the company allowed one of its vendors to screw over a customer. I went about 4 months without a job. I ended up working at a pizza place doing everything under the sun there. I made good money is able to save some up. All of this while going through a divorce. The job I have now is not in finance but I'm loving it. I'm making better money and less headaches. Finding a new job in … | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/11/25 12:46 PM
DivorcingThat's a first step you need to do is get a freaking job. Doesn't matter if it's flipping burgers or designing spaceships. It's just a temporary job until you can get a better foundation and set yourself up for success. To her and others it may appear that you've hit rock bottom. Let him think what they want their opinion doesn't matter. Meanwhile you're saving your money, building yourself, work on your resume, build your LinkedIn page, and lay the groundwork for your future empire. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/11/25 10:43 PM
DivorcingSuch to be a beta male then. The above information I said is exactly what I did in my divorce. I covered my ass by tracking every dime I spent. She was financially irresponsible and I wasn't going to pay the price. Only money she got from me was splitting the proceeds from the sale of the house. She got no alimony whatsoever. I kept all my money. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/11/25 10:37 PM
DivorcingGet copies of all financial statements, cancel her cards if she doesn't have many money going into those accounts, or get a new checking and saving account to put your paychecks in. Go get your own phone, and any other things that you need. Consider yourself living in a post-apocalyptic world and rebuild yourself, rebuild your world. You want to piss her off, show that you can thrive without her. Show no emotion. Don't let her see you upset or cry. Be upset and cry behind closed doors away from … | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/11/25 08:51 PM

My divorce is going very amicable so we have decided ourselves how to split everything. The 60 day period is up next month. Im hopefully starting my new job the first of May. I already put an offer on a house in the other state. You have a different couple options you can do for the house. Figure out what the current market value is for the house or find out what the tax appraisal is for the house. You two ne… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/25 11:52 PM |

24 M, is marriage worth it?No it's not. Don't fall for the trap. There isn't a female out there worth you given half of your stuff to. Get around all you want. Don't get married. If you do make sure you have an ironclad prenuptial. If she doesn't want to sign it tell her to get stepping. Save yourself the heartache, the headache and your bank account stay single and happy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/25 10:47 PM
Now wife works out and loses weightDon't worry about her, you take care of you. Let her find somebody else to pay for her stuff. She'll relapse and pack on 30 lb. You worry about you, and don't worry about her. You will be happier in the short term, and in a better place in the long term. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/25 10:44 PM
I told her I wanted a divorce. It did not go how I expectedCan she support herself? All you done is giving her time to find a better lawyer and find someone to replace you. The two of them will be living in a house paid for by you. Do you even know what your state figures child support as? The state I'm in is a thousand dollars per child. I know several people who are paying $6,800 per child a month in child support. She's going shopping for a new man. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/25 05:43 PM
I told her I wanted a divorce. It did not go how I expectedI agree with the others. She said what she said to calm you down and lower your defenses. Now she's preparing her counter attack. She's going to get a better lawyer then you and probably win. Start watching the money and things around the house. She's going to start claiming stuff or misplacing things of yours so you don't have them. She'll probably set you up, trying to make you mad so she can call the Police on you so you get charged for DV. She's going to play along so she can get herself set… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/25 05:39 PM
