Hi there. Your story is not that uncommon, to some degree parts of what you wrote describes me as well at different stages of my life (I am a lot older than you), and believe me, I see some of those aspects in people my own age. If you think that older people have their shit together, you'll be surprised! But this is about you, not about me. I will try to give you a comment with my perspective. You are correct about TRP being the one and only place where you might find honest commentary and man-…

I second this post. I do similar work, specializing in depression, I actually realized that it helped me with my own depression; so I did it for quite a while, even after I beat my own depression, but then I got burned out. The "When I said I wanted to fix it, I meant help him figure out how to be happy with who I am, not change me!" is so very true, especially with women, young and old, they want to fix the problem but they don't want change. If you have any doubt whatsoever about TRP premises,…

This resonates with me, a lot "I hated myself for transforming into a pussy during my teens/young adulthood.". No more. I am busy, very busy living my life now.

Let me attempt something here, something that's about me, but it might apply to you too. I used to be depressed. As in Severe Clinical Depression and I didn't know. I had it for a few decades, yup you heard me right, decades. I was diagnosed in NOV 2014 and started therapy in JAN 2015, and now I am finally depression free after a lot of work. I am still working on it, and just today I was reading an article that mentioned that having a temper is one of the signs of depression. Depression is a we…

Great post! I am also just getting out from a long period of depression. I would put Take responsibility Do not rely on your girlfriend/plates at the top of the list, along with "TRP will help you more than a good shrink". Now that I am a few months out of depression I look back and the major culprits were the toxic people in my life, and the toxicity has a name "Blue Pill Poison". I have severed many of my old friendships, I have a whole new set of people around me, and a handful of old acquain…

Sounds like the story of my second marriage. It did last 18 years, I started as Alpha-ish and ended up Beta and with Depression. I don't blame her, I blame me. If I were to go back, I would not marry her, for her own sake first, and then mine too. During the marriage I cheated on her, at times for the sex, at times for the intellectual aspect. I am not saying don't do it, I am saying you are a lot more aware than I was, think it thought, then make your decision and live with it.

The reason why I was diagnosed with depression so late it's because for a long time I thought that I was simply unhappy, and my quest for happiness would solve all problems. Then I realized I was clinically depressed, I have educated myself and understood that Not being depressed and being happy are two very different things. So now I am working on my depression first, and at the same time being happy. Part of the work is to rid myself of all the false beliefs about life and women that i was ind…

I have my physical health. My so called life is coming along slowly. I was focusing too much on women, I know that now, and I was also in denial about it. I am keeping on going, and improving, I have no intention to ever go back to the way I was, nor to stop my work on myself. This is a good sub.

Here I am: I am not happy and I look at TRP as one of the possible ways I can finally be happy. And while being happy is not complicated it's not easy either. I was recently diagnosed with Depression, and I have realized that I have had it all my life. And I have been BP for just as long. Is there a causation and/or correlation between my depression and me being BP? And in which direction? Being BP did't help my quest for happiness, that's for sure; nor it helped with my depression symptoms eith…

Well said. TRP is like going to a doctor and discovering you have a chronic disease and being given a lifelong treatment: you understand the situation, but it's not necessarily emotionally OK with it. "I had sex with them but it didn't mean anything, it was just sex. But I love you, it's different. Women will never understand that when they say that it's an offense to the guy to whom they say that, and a praise to those guys. That is the fundamental difference.

Unless one is one of those natural Alpha, or extremely lucky to score a unicorn, or extremely clueless; what I have gone through is Business as Usual for the average non-Alpha guy. I am not ashamed to say that this is not the first time, it has happened to me in my pre-TRP days, when I had no idea what to make of it. Having said that, I am glad it happened to me; I am reaching bottom right now, not yet there, but I know that in the next few days/weeks it's going to hurt even more, and I welcome …

It's a sad day because I stopped believing in unicorns and realized that AWALT is so fucking real. EFT tapping works in the very short terms since it distracts the mind. It's just like having an annoying kid bugging you. Then after a while the mind knows it's you and yawns, the issues remain there long term.

To be mad at Love is to say you hate pooping. Really? That was funny and profound at the same time. I feel the same way, with the exception that I never got positive emotions from my parents, which in my case makes it worse since I was a lot more co-dependent on anyone, anything, or any event. I can relate to that, similar situation here. At first I thought I was going to comment something along the lines of Dude, you're Beta, not Alpha, but then I realized that Alpha-Beta is not an analog switch, but it's a spectrum; therefore even the worst Beta will on occasion exhibit Alpha traits; and the Alpha(s) at times might exhibit Beta behavior. I was recently diagnosed with Severe Clinical Depression and I am now seeing a CBT therapist on a regular basis. TRP has been helping more to fend off my Depression and better my Life than therapy and all the self help books that I have read in the past. TRP to me it's not about picking up women, but it's a way of life, and since I am a man, a way of life is also sexual strategy, a strategy where the focus is me, and not anyone else. I have put it in my permanent collections of frequent readings so that I can internalize it and have it naturally part of me. I am with you, what causes the chemical imbalance? The best explanation that I have seen out there, is the "flight or fight" response mechanism, which is still very much functioning in us humans, an yet our environment... is not the same as the one where the "flight or fight" developed. Back in the days, when we were in danger and the "flight or fight" response would fire up, it was a matter of seconds, or minutes before it was over, either we were safe or we were killed. Nowadays the "flight or…

I have come to the same conclusion and the way I look at it, it's a cycle: I must break the cycle.
