So? If it was a man was compromising the combat ability of the unit and they tried to flee they’d be put up against a wall and shot. Why should it be any different for women? Nobody wants to be there, that’s why they’re drafted.

I’m not arguing men shouldn’t be asked out more and that it’s heavily skewed, I just think it’s rude for the person who asked the other out to not pay at least when it’s a reasonable expense (again I mean for both men and women).

Controversial take: I think whoever asked the other out should pay for both, whether that’s the dude or the dudette (although we all know how skewed that is).

No in US. We have only a handful of unions for specific industries that are very strong, but everywhere else unions are unable to survive because of at will employment and an inability to fund themselves since it’s illegal to demand dues for services.

Title IX is the equal rights law that everyone quotes for schools. Basically it’s the reason why women sports have to get equal funding as men’s (a very simple example). Schools out of compliance can lose federal funding. Basically the case was dismissed because it’s not under federal title IX jurisdiction. However the door is (technically) still open because that doesn’t affect a civil suit against the accusers. That would be a state civil matter. The success of that would be... dependent on th…

It depends on, ironically, which side has more survivors. In the event of apocalypse, if there are more women than men, the men will likely be either accepted as trophies or kings and pampered for their value, or physically overpower the women and subjugate them. If men out survive women, then they will become more valuable than gold for reproduction and be treated like prized art... which also means they will have broad, but limited power under a male due to their value. Which is reasonable... except she was already indicted on murder 2. So apparently the prosecutor believes he can legally prove murder. While that is a fairly accurate summation it doesn’t account for all the other variables, such as state of mind and actual ability of people involved. Example: I push you over on the street because your in the way. You fall but are fine. Then I push someone else over on the street two seconds later (I know I’m a dick but that’s irrelevant here), same age, height, etc. They fall and break their neck on the ground. Oh I agree. You know it’s murder. I know it’s murder. The cops know it’s murder. It’s textbook depraved heart murder. The issue is you now need to convince 12 random people off the street that it’s murder while someone much more knowledgeable about law tries to convince them otherwise.

I mean the problem is it kinda... is manslaughter. I mean you could try to make a case that with his age, she should’ve reasonably expected he would die but that’s a hard case to make to a jury with very little knowledge of what constitutes what legally. 20$ she pleads to manslaughter and gets sentenced somewhere between 5-10 years.

You can't force the DA to press charges. You can file a police report. You can have them investigated. But the DA is the only person who is able to summon a grand jury for indictment of charges. You could have video evidence of the president shooting someone on the steps of the White House, and the DA would have unilateral ability to not press charges (granted there would be issues with that specifically but the point is that in something where it's not so blatant, they are the literally the onl…

One month, because after that you will be dragged in front of a judge, and likely your wages will be garnished (one of the only things that can garnished in all 50 states) unless it is proven it is an error. Also, most countries won't provide citizenship to you if you can't afford to pay child support, and the US government will revoke your passport if you are behind on child support. Don't speak of things you don't understand.

Why is she driving off road illegally? I believe the bar for "traps" is that someone not breaking the law cannot be accidentally killed by it. A trapdoor that triggers when someone steps on your front porch? Illegal. A trapdoor that triggers when someone inputs the wrong combination to your safe in your bedroom? Legal...ish.
