They don't have to be funny, but they should be able to laugh :) Me and my partner both have some ability to be funny, but mostly we have the ability to find humor in things.

That would make sense. There are so many myths surrounding weight.

I don't think needs are all about things you'd die without. No one "needs" freedom, either. It sucks to be enslaved, but you won't die of it. This might not completely change your view, but you'll have to admit some things are needs and must be taken seriously, even if you don't die without them.

The opposite is also true. Most skinny people who think they can eat all they want and not gain weight are just not eating enough. Unless they have absorption problems. Wish more people knew this! So much heartache and confusion could be done away with.

I don't know, but I also noticed that when I'm a bit too helpful, polite and smile a lot, some people think they can be less respectful to me. This particular thing is not a strictly male problem. If you're too accommodating, lots of people will push your boundaries.

It's not any more right to say "going through traumatic events makes you tougher and builds character" than to say "going through traumatic events makes you an emotional wreck/damaged forever". It can go either way. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, or weaker. This is not really relevant to what you were debating, but I just had to say it.

The moral of the story is that rape victims should choose their partners carefully and only go for those that will understand and accept. Keeping it from the LTR partner will mean hurting yourself more.

I like being valued primarily for sex and love, because that stuff is extremely easy. I value my partner primarily for the same. Everything else (knowledge, money, etc) is just a bonus.

If you're suicidally depressed, does it really matter? I'm not lacking in sympathy, but I have to ask that question.

There is no need to use childbirth to explain the analogy. A woman can't truly empathise with how a male sex drive feels, the same way a man can't truly empathise with why the woman doesn't have the same strong drive and just won't fuck all her willing male friends. It's a bad idea to try to "empathise" with these things. The best thing is to accept each other's differences and be done with it.

If you ask you bf/husband to take fashion pictures, don't be surprised if it turns into a stripping photoshoot. Men aren't into fashion in general. For fashion pictures, ask a girlfriend or a female relative who likes that stuff as much as you do :)

Yes, she is too compassionate. But who says it is good to be too compassionate? I would argue it's bad for a doctor, a nurse or a teacher. A little compassion is good, but if you have too much, all you do is suffer without helping anybody.

Actually it would make sense to evolve a negative psychological reaction to rape, because it circumvents women's sexual choice. And to women, sexual choice is very important, since each sexual contact could result in a baby they have to spend at least 9 months on (and the woman wouldn't want to spend her precious time on the genes of men she finds unattractive). Being raped could also turn off betas, and she could lose providors and protectors. So yes, there are good reasons to evolve a painful …

It's sad to see that everyone thinks rape ruins you forever, gives you a whole another personality, and you never recover. Stories such as this one prove the worst of fears. If it's real, this therapist is not good at what they are doing. If everyone keeps saying you're broken, soon enough you will feel irreversibly broken (call it victim mentality or the nocebo effect, it can affect you). If someone breaks a leg, do you put on a cast and eventually encourage them to use the leg, or do you prono…

People who don't want their marriage prospects damaged should not film themselves having sex or sext. And if it was done without their consent or knowledge, it's already illegal to secretly film people in private. Even filming people in public could land you in hot water sometimes.

It's an asshole thing to do, but I don't believe we need a law to ban every little asshole behavior there is. And if it's to be a crime, the punishment should be small, fit for the severity of the crime. I understand leeking sensitive information could be a crime, since it can lead to financial loss. But naked pics only hurt the ego temporarily. Embarassing, but in 2015 we are not victorian anymore, and nothing of value is really lost. It's not worse than having any other pics of you/your privat…

Why does self-interest have to include a certain lack of morals? It seems to me that self-interest is wholy compatible with thinking that sleeping with married people is wrong. Ignoring too many morals can lead to internal inconsistency and lack of conviction, which will weaken and diminish you over time.

No, it would not be wrong to take a client away from them. The client doesn't really promise anything to anyone, so the business is not complicit in any major deception. This is more like competing for a mate and outcompeting the other guy. Unless the guy and the girl both were in agreement that they were loyal and monogamous with each other and it was serious, it's not morally wrong for the other guy to "steal" the woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/15 05:49 PM

Why would wrongness depend on whether you have an implicit contract or not? The result is still hurting another person. Of course the cheater takes most of the blame, but the other man/woman played a part. Frankly, it'd make more sense to admit it's wrong, and do it anyway. Because it's impossible to be morally perfect, and you allow yourself some evil from time to time. To say it's not wrong kind of sounds like moral hamsterbatics to me. I'm not saying that to shame, but to let holders of this …

Nah, submissive woman/first officer will tell you what she thinks, but she won't criticize you in public, and she will still leave the decision up to you. Of course, you can only fail as a leader so many times. If you continuously make bad decisions that are bad for everyone, a submissive woman/first officer might take over, until you get better. At least, ideally. She could just bail, too, although I don't think it'd be very RPW of her.

I kind of agree with you - I see nothing wrong with dread game for women, as long as it works. But the problem is potential loss of respect for the man, who lets himself be gamed like that. You get him, and then no longer want him, because you start questioning his confidence. So RPW don't do it.

Yes, and this is why TRP commenters are not frightening to me. There will always be someone who goes Sodini (or Elliot Rodger, since he's the new Sodini), but spree killings always happen, regardless of whether TRP exists or not.

Hmm, I don't think what you are seeing is some kind of unusual desperation for sex and relationships. Would you still have the same attitude towards sex and relationships, if you didn't implicitly know that you could have them (or at least sex) any time you want? Before finding out that there is such a thing as involuntary celibacy, I thought of sex and relationships the same way. But now that I think about it, being incel would make me rather desperate. "I'd definitely rather go for a hot guy with a shit personality than an unattractive guy with a great personality. Does this make me a horrible person?" Lust is important for LTRs, STRs and ONS. Settling is not more morally right than choosing someone you're attracted to. Settling is probably not fair to the person you settle for. And having a LTR with a handsome asshole/bitch is less morally wrong, and more just stupid - you're only hurting yourself that way. So no, it doesn't make you a horrib…

Well if it doesn't make you lose respect and attraction for your husband, and he's not made unhappy, it's probably ok. But be honest with yourself about why you want something, and how your situation really is. Make sure it's not about resentment. Make sure you aren't alienating or putting down your loved one. Here's my 2 cents of speculation. They have more testosterone than other women, but they don't have as much as a man. They are also still female. This extra testosterone doesn't automatically give them understanding of male life. It just gives them extra drive to compete, achieve, and have interest in masculine things. Some of these high-T women might become feminists, because they feel feminine activities are boring and oppressive to them, and might think other women feel the same way. Hence th…

Why would a woman use TRP strategies designed for men, though? Sounds like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole to me. What would be her goal?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/15 05:45 PM

I agree with that. If you want to spend money on education, learn something practical, that is always in demand. Plumbing, electricity, accounting... what else would you add to that list? It might differ from country to country. Oh, and one more thing. Getting a "STEM" degree won't help you either. Not unless it translates to concrete skills that people can use right away.

If I understand correctly, "guys" can refer to a number of people, animals or even inanimate objects. It's just how the language is used. And the way language is, is often random, weird and not entirely logical.

Although now that I think about it, it's still possible to say that the spouse contributed to their own problem by getting fat or weak. That is not to say that the cheater is any less responsible for their actions.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/15 12:55 AM
1

I rarely excuse cheating. The only time I can be lenient is when the cheater cannot get out of the marriage without terrible consequences, and the reason for cheating is abuse or dead bedroom that cannot be fixed despite their best effort. Basicly if the person is trapped in a bad situation they didn't knowingly walk into. Then I can blame the spouse. Women cheating on weak husbands and men cheating on fat wives cannot blame the spouse.

People are telling you this is "selfish" because you do it to receive good feelings. Sure, everything we do is "selfish" in some way, but it's absurd to call it bad. Then you might as well say the person who jumps in front of a shooter to protect a loved one is just doing it to avoid pain, and is therefore a selfish prick. That's absurd. As for love, what is really stopping you from finding a good man and treating him as non-disposable? I know I asked that before, but I'm just curious. If you th…

It's also possible to say it's the norm, but the age gap is smaller in more gender-equal countries. It's smaller, but persists.

Interesting. I wonder how it is connected to statistics that women on average marry men slightly older than themselves (differently aged). But actually, this seems to fit my own experience somewhat. Ugly and plain young women are better off going for an older man, because he has a newfound appreciation of youth.

Looking at the real world, I can see lots of people cheat. Men used to do it more before, now women caught up. Women initiate most divorces, but they also have less to lose. People who have power on their side frequently use it - you can see it in very powerful rich men, and women where divorce laws are on their side. They say "A woman's loyalty is tested when the man has nothing, and the man's loyalty is tested when he has everything". I believe it to be true. People with principles are not eas…

If you're attracted to each other and "click", why not? What's appropriate or inappropriate sounds like a made up obstacle. Of course, you do have to make sure you're ok with certain things. If you're the younger one, are you ok with the possibility of no kids (if the woman is older, or the man is really old) or your partner dying sooner? What happens if they age and don't look very young anymore? If you're older, do you trust the younger one to not fall for peer pressure and act ashamed of you?…

To a lot of women, older men will always be irrelevant. But for many others, things change. When you're in college, you still feel like you're in extended adolescence, separate from working adults somehow. But when you enter the real world and start working with other adults of various ages, that feeling disappears. You are then a full adult, equal to other adults, no matter what age they are. And then you can decide if a particular man looks hot to you or not, judging by his looks. And he might…

Yes, negativity will attract criticism from normal people. Yet it still strange to me to pay so much attention, time and energy to something that is relatively small and lacks power. I think when people hate something, they express their disgust, but then go back to their lives, because looking at disgusting things is not enjoyable. If someone keeps looking, I assume they must enjoy it at some level. Maybe they are "hate-reading".
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 11:22 PM

It's strange to me. I can't imagine spending so much time thinking about TBP, for example. I can think a lot about real injustice (wrongful imprisonment), but not internet drama. Which makes me believe that TRP is hated because it provides feelings of indignation and drama. Some people just enjoy drama.

I think he's tragically overthinking it. So what if genes make up a large part of why we behave the way we do. Why does it have to mean something horrible? Even friendship is "fake" then, not just romantic love. That best friend who always has your back - they are only doing it cuz their genes value what you do for them?..
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:36 PM

Yes, I think it's unethical. However, it's not that high on my list of sins. I wouldn't disown a friend for that, but I'd be worried, and recommend they don't do it. I don't think saying "someone else will screw her" removes any culpability. I don't generally shame people about random stuff like this.

I'm not sure I can answer this question meaningfully without having tried it first. I could potentially be just as well off in a traditional society. Also, I'm a person of my time and place. I'm adapted to my living environment. I'm not adapted to a different one. So are most people who answer here. If you grew up in a traditional society and didn't know how a non-traditional felt like, I imagine lots of people would say no to the non-traditional society.

I also didn't like Sin City at all. But not because it was unrealistic. You can make a truly good, cartoony movie, especially if it's not taken too seriously by its creator. Sin City's problem, IMO, was that they tried to convince us visuals should be enough. Sin City's characters were all so dull and boring, and it took itself so damn seriously. It's the same story over and over again. Nasty man attacks woman/-en. Good guy beats the shit out of him/slices him up/rips his balls off.

It's hot when the man is happy. Sex is a way to please a man and reap benefits (= good feelings, but if he offers more I won't say no). In a relationship, it's a source of feeling loved and comforted.

Is it totally false though? I don't think I'm the only one who detected this problem where the woman's orgasm is more important to the GUY than the girl. I heard women say "Don't worry, the sex I have with you is not just for the orgasm. I could have those alone at any time". It should make sense since men are already the ones who must pursue the gatekeepers of sex, for sex. Shouldn't women pursue the gatekeepers of commitment, for commitment? But on the other hand, proposing to a man is kind of like a guy coming up to you ask asking if you want some dick. Where is the charm in that? I don't think it has anything to do with looks. In our species, women are the sexy sex, and have it easiest when it comes to getting laid. Even if women were considerably more plain and boring-looking, they'd still be the sexy sex. In some species, that's how it is (think of the peacock). When we look at the peacock and the peahen, we think "Gorgeous male, boring female", even tho the peafowl might disagree with us. Perhaps the same thing could happen if an alien looked at humanity. I remember reading that one. One comment: they didn't state who filed for divorce. But other than that, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a point of disloyalty for men. Nothing surprising, evolutionarily speaking. It's bad for women to stay with a statusless, gutless, penniless man. And it's bad for a man to stay with a sick, infertile woman. The only thing that contradicts this is the fact that men don't dump their old wives. If men were all about fertility and health, surely they'd be a lot m…

I don't know, but here's the thing. Real rape victims often don't want to bring attention to it (it's retraumatizing, there are untrustworthy cops..). False accusers do want attention though. Do you think women can become empathetic to specifically male problems? Perhaps a part of the problem is false information and misunderstanding. Since we're modern humans and are supposed to be gender-equal now, a woman might think there isn't that much of a difference between her problems, and his. On the other hand, he is still a man and therefore stronger, which means he doesn't hurt easily. Men don't treat each other softly like female friends do, and they don't express pain/sadness the same…

I'm not sure saying "gender roles" are biological. Rather, the sexes have average innate differences that make certain gender roles more likely to happen than others. Roles are more of a response of society to the differences.

Once he says "she wasn't into it" and then "she's into it". And even then, not being into it is not a sign of rape. I'm sometimes not into it in the morning, but that does not a rape make. Edit: a more precise comment would be: "Sounds like feminist rape to me. "Despite what TRP says most women don't find 40 year old guys sexually attractive " I have some personal, non-scientific thoughts on that. Teenagers find anyone older than themselves ancient, but in your 20s, things can look a little different. Maybe because your environment changes, and your peers are now people of a wider age range. Not speaking for all women though, it's just an observation. And why do you have to jump straight for a 40-something guy? If you're 20, he could be 30, which, if h…

Isn't it a part of normal socialization to not take advantage of drunk and drugged people? Isn't alcohol also a big part of the hookup culture nowadays? I don't know how things are where you live, but here in Norway alcohol is pretty much a part of foreplay. Men drink to reduce approach anxiety, and women drink to lose their inhibitions. Not to mention, I noticed Norwegian men hardly ever approach, unless it's within an "appropriate" setting of a bar or a party. It's kind of sad that alcohol has…

I think the sexes don't always know how to interpret each other's behavior and words. Example1: Man: I don't like makeup, I prefer a natural look Meaning: contrary to what a woman might think, it doesn't mean he wants you to be makeup-free. Most likely, he just saw women expertly apply "no makeup" makeup and thought it was how they really looked like. Do that. Example2: Woman: I like natural muscle, no huge bulging muscles for me. I think there is truth to your main point there. As for drunk sex, it depends. If they are passed out, it's a crime to fuck them. If they are conscious, I would say no. That is because I don't believe responsibility for action or inaction gets diminished in a conscious person, just because they put a whole bunch of drugs into themselves. But if you were asking about personal (not legal) responsibility, I would say both have some responsibility.

Another thing. Sometimes people's ideology/worldview doesn't entirely fit with their personal experience. I'm not sure much would happen, since we already have sperm banks. It's not like sperm is scarse. Getting married and forming a family satisfies different emotional needs and wants. Not really. Feeling deserving of love, friendship and sex is not pathological. It's going around feeling unworthy to those things that's pathological. It's called having low self-esteem, and can lead to depression, and self-fulfilling prophecy. The healthy thing to do is to think "I might not have gotten friends/love/affection yet, but I know it's not because I'm inherently unlovable or unworthy. I just need to sell myself better/improve appearance/go on trying".

Feeling you deserve love has nothing to do with feeling like you are owed love. I think I deserve plenty of things, such as friendship, love and happiness, because feeling like I don't deserve any of that would mean I'm a low self-esteem wreck. And I'm not. It doesn't mean I feel someone owes me those things, though. Don't you feel that way about yourself?

I also don't believe "feeling one deserves" and "feeling entitled to" are the same thing. Most people would agree with the idea "No one is entitled to sex", but who would say "No one deserves sex"? That would be harsh. When someone is feeling entitled, they feel they have a right. When someone feels they deserve something, it's not about rights or being owed something - it's feeling you are a decent person, having good self-esteem. Not everyone who deserves, gets. Such is life.

None of this is a double standard, really. It's just preferences. It only becomes a double standard if the person makes a moral judgement, instead of just stating a preference. If you're, for example, a fat person who only dates skinnies, go for it I guess (if you can pull it off). But if this person calls skinnies "unfair/evil/discriminatory" for not choosing them, then it's a double standard.

I don't think women put makeup on consciously for men. But since we're shaped by evolution and we must make ourselves attractive to mates, the desire to look more attractive is probably a result of that :) It's not just makeup for women, it's our desire to wear good clothes, be fit and look hot in other ways. Although clothes and makeup are also about fitting in, and social status.

So, not sleeping with someone's wife or husband is pathological altruism then? In that case, I will just say what I said earlier - it's not altruism, it can give great personal benefits if done right. You have to do it for yourself. Morality, even if it doesn't seem to immediately reward the owner (or even makes them give up what's there for the taking), can give the person confidence, strength, and consistency of thinking.

I think people are kidding themselves when they think that being the other woman or the other man means you're not guilty. The cheating spouse bears most of the blame, but you're aiding and abetting. You're hurting a stranger. If you are okay with that, then at least admit you're doing that, don't hamster that it's an innocent thing you're doing.

I don't know who does it more, it's more like a human trait. When it comes to bad behavior, I haven't really noticed a difference. And when it comes to non-optimal sexual/romantic choices, people use all sorts of cognitive tricks to make themselves happier. Especially true for people who just don't know why things are the way they are.

I'm curious: why not simply put consent and the list of consented acts to the marriage contract? Then she can give him a BJ while he sleeps, and he can have sex with her while she still sleeps. And then it's no longer a rape, because you signed a contract saying you permanently consent. And if one spouse decided to use violence to extract sexual favors, then they can be charged with simple assault, which is still illegal. Problem solved _^

Might sound funny, but I don't think I'd fight like an animal if my SO didn't take no for an answer. Probably wouldn't feel sexually violated, although it'd be a weird event and would make me question his sanity. People don't suddenly force themselves on their spouses/partners after years of acting 100% normal and self-controlled. I would not say the same about a random guy raping me. It would be violating and I'd try to gouge out his eyes. Having said that, I don't wish to go back to any time, …

I don't remember any dating advice (not sure if I simply filtered it out, or they never said anything). My parents told me to use condoms when trying sex as a teenager. Also they gave me a "birds&bees" book when I was really small (5 or 6). My views on relationships were mostly inspired by classical literature (and I think it worked out well, lol).

That's interesting. I recently read in a psychology textbook that needy anxious women and abusive men are more attracted to each other, than normal people are. It's one thing to get into an abusive relationship once. But if the person ends up in them over and over again, there is reason to believe it's not just chance.

Well, she also is one of those women who have jobs and careers, so it's not a bankroll she wants. She mentions that to have it all, you must get married, or else you are "disqualified". The husband is a social status symbol.

That is true. Psychology literature I've read said that divorce is definitely worse for kids. The only exception is when the atmosphere in the home is unbearable and highly stressful, with parents always fighting. But from the article, I bet the husband doesn't even know she's casually mulling over the possibility of divorce. Her story is that of the classically "unhaaapy" wife...

Even breaking up with a boring friend wouldn't be described as so dehumanizing, would it?. It also bothered me how she insulted other people's happy marriages, just because hers was bad. Yes, I was not saying CC is good. I was just trying to explain the thinking that goes on about it. As for the similarity, all I was saying is that both men and women don't care if their casual sex partner has sex with someone else. Their opinion is the opposite when it comes to partners they commit to and are attached to.

I think it's because it doesn't hurt to share a guy if you don't love him, and just want fun sex. It's same for guys who don't love a girl. It's one of those things that's actually true for both sexes - it's only the consequences that are different.

The song is catchy and I don't really mind the fat praise, but that negativity towards skinny women mixed with pastel-colored positivity of the song makes the it kinda passive-aggressive. I remember Harald Eia adressed this paradox. He noticed that in gender equal, feminist Norway, women's participation in the sciences and engineering is lower than in more patriarchial countries. He theorized that this is because in more gender equal, rich, subsidized countries like Norway, women are more likely to pick the profession they want, instead of the profession they NEED to earn a decent living. In less accomodating countries, women strive to get better paying degrees (STEM).

Reactions vary, with some women forgiving and forgetting, and some being unable to. The way I see it, a woman who's been cheated on has a bigger chance of keeping her husband, than a man whose wife has cheated. He could have cheated without falling out of love/lust with his wife. However, this option is only for those who can/want to forgive and forget. And some can't and won't. Also, some women put up the zero tolerance tactic, to motivate the man to avoid cheating. I think she does identify some mistakes correctly, but then she calls them strange names. She says “being non-confrontational” was wrong, because she always let things slide. Right, you are not supposed to “let things slide”. You are supposed to think about what’s bothering you, and then if it’s still bothering you, present it calmly to your husband, so you can resolve it. Or else you’ll build resentment. I hate when they say "rape is worse than death". In the west, it's not even what it used to be. You don't have to give birth to a rapist's baby, any STDs can be taken care of. To say that rape is worse than death is like saying "Been raped? Might as well kill yourself".

There is an evolutionary explanation to it (and there is a book on it: http://www.amazon.com/Natural-History-Rape-Biological-Coercion/dp/0262700832/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406448750&sr=8-1&keywords=natural+history+of+rape ). Rape hurts a woman psychologically, because in the past it meant involuntarily giving up her mate choice and 9 months of her time and energy through pregnancy. That was interesting. I don't know exactly what she means. But it's easy to start looking down on a group, if you are convinced they are eternal victims. No one wants to be an eternal victim. We might feel sorry for them, but we don't want to be them. "Sucks to be you, here's a handout".

I noticed this as well. I get carded when buying cigarettes and beer only when I wear short skirts, colorful tights and 2 braids (and similar "young" clothes). Also, less makeup (just a mascara). Small cute earrings are good, too. So that is what I'd recommend for dressing young :) Skirt: http://www.polyvore.com/drown_in_me_mini_skirt/thing?id=55202294 (Mine is more colorful though) Tights: http://manouvellemode.com/2012/01/10/colored-tights-purple-vs-red/ Braids: http://poupee-sapphira.blogspot…

But do not women turn into alpha widows because of more than just male celebrities? Those women didn't have time to think about male celebrities, while hopelessly addicted to some real life guy. I don't think this is against TRP theories. Didn't Rollo say that when a woman says "I could be with you forever" it means "Right now I feel like I could be with you forever"? And that once out of love, she might turn into a harpy? Or that women in love turn into total beta males? (I think Heartiste said…

Well, it's just a subjective feeling of 10ness, and might not last. But for that period of time, it might feel very real for a woman.

A bit off topic... A 10 is the most bangable person you can think of. If a girl loves you, you might be her 10 - she doesn't want to fuck anyone else but you (even if she'd rate you a 7 if you were a stranger). She might expect the same feelings from you, but you as a man go on and objectively rate her, cuz your sexual desire and romantic feelings are not as bound together, and you're just being honest. So she gets mad. Is it not more of a misunderstanding generated by sex differences in loving,…

Man doesn't think it's a big deal. I shave when he's around, but don't shave when he's not around. It is just a trend. My guess is that it's another way to exaggerate difference between men and women. Women have less body hair already, so why not remove it alltogether? And men seem to want more hair on themselves.

Also, he says girls are taught they are so smart, and get arrogant from it. But I wonder if this is just a facade? I know that for many people, being praised for raw IQ leads to a fixed mindset, and ego-dependence on intelligence. So if something doesn't come easy anymore, you avoid doing it, because it ruins your image as an intelligent person. So you end up stupid and less educated than kids who weren't praised for their smarts.

I think I get what he's saying (that there are lots of arrogant and only semi-intelligent women around him), but it's oddly written. First of all, it's not true that there are no intelligent women around (unless he defines intelligent at having an IQ over 130, then there would be few). There are plenty of women with intelligence, but are they wise? I don't often see a clear connection between wisdom and IQ intelligence. This hypothesis is compelling. Although there could be additional reasons. It doesn't explain why women over 18 are jailed for sex with young men under 18 though. I guess it might be because of the myth of gender equality. I can see them report "teacher has sex with boy" stories all over the news now, although I think the coverage of this phenomenon is disproportionate to how often it actually happens. Yet always, behind the outrage, there are comments reflecting how unseriously everyone takes i…

On the first look, that 48 Laws text is freaking difficult to adopt. Some stuff makes sense, but other stuff goes against everything I was striving for lately. Just too much pretending... I think this torment is largely self-inflicted. As you say, being so perfect is not necessary to get a man, or be happy. Of course, our environment does affect our view of the world, for example we might believe what we see in movies (that's why Mythbusters exist, right?). So a man might believe someone's hair is really so thick, when it's actually extensions. And a woman might think she could have flings until she is 45, and then marry Mr. Big. "and she woke up with no memory of what happened" It's alcohol-induced memory loss. " was not attracted to the guy" It's beer goggles. A hilarious phenomenon often made fun of in the movies, but usually involves guys who accidentally sleep with ugly chicks and transexuals. It's a shame women can't seem to appreciate the humor. There is a reason why these vague drunk rape/not-rape stories are not taken seriously enough, and it should stay that way.

Some women are predisposed to STEM and that's cool. But I don't see the reason to encourage so many girls to enter those fields, when it would be a wrong choice for many of them. I doubt it hurts any girls though. Here in Norway they try really hard to get more girls into STEM, but they still pick what they like. Don't worry too much, a lot of celebrity hair is just extensions. To me, promiscuity is a bothersome because it's usually a sign he has options and is using them. But of course, context matters, and I won't drop a guy with an N of 20 because there was a time in his life when he was really successful and did his best to take advantage of what he could get. There are many things I wanted to say to people when angry, but I know it's pretty cruel to say something like that, and the content is not supported by evidence. Just saying, the latter kind is more difficult - it is with them you have to think with your gut more, rather than just use the outward projected image to judge their dangerousness. The scary big biker type lets you know he's not to be touched. The subtle manipulator will send the opposite outward signals.
/r/RedPillWomen13/02/14 12:14 AM

I don't really judge by the outward appearance people are trying to project. For example, someone might be fat and unkempt, but it doesn't usually mean they are dangerous or lazy about their actual job (hasn't been my experience). I judge by the gut feeling. Lots of the things we perceive are unconscious, or conscious but they reach our emotional centers, not the logical thinking ones. We'd be wise to listen to those. It just so happens that I'm fair and analytical, and analyse my own feelings a…

That is true though. I forgot that. If a large part of your job is to be seen, people will react if you change something. However, there is such a thing as talent speaking for itself. Susan Boyle didn't need to be attractive to make good music. If your work is valuable for itself, you'll get away with more of this than if your work was so-so to begin with.

Considering evolution didn't predispose women to be warriors to the same extent as men, I would say men (they would be the ones picking this as a profession in greater numbers, if they could freely pick, I guess). The way I see it, they tend towards more extreme acts about a lot of things. It pays for men to strive, be ambitious and show themselves as strong. He has a point. It would be much better to show the honor concept by actually measuring something. For example, it's one thing to do wrong and acknowledge that it's wrong. It's another thing to rationalize that what you did wasn't as bad as it was, or not bad at all. Someone with honor, I suspect, would be the former.

Hmm. Hate to disagree, but I think we aren't entitled to respect. That still has to be earned. Maybe you are talking about polite treatment. That, I think, doesn't have to be earned (although it can be revoked if you're rude yourself), but we're still not entitled to that, either. Nowhere does any paper say being treated politely is a right (if there is such a paper, let me know). However, I think rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness are rights. However, if someone is being needlessl…

I don't think it's entitled to say that you deserve something. There is, as far as I know, a difference between "I deserve X" and "I'm owed X". I deserve love because I'm a loving person, but nobody owes it to me, and I don't get pissed when it's not given. "Deserve" is largely determined by Santa - he's making a list and checking it twice, and determines who's been naughty and nice, and if you're nice you deserve nice things. But real life isn't like that, so saying you deserve something is use…

Very sad that this even needs to be said. But say anything even slightly close to "discipline" and "dominance", and trolls are screaming "rape" and "abuse". But it's a good addition as an explanation for new people :) The abusive man is simply a bad leader. He rules through fear of beatings, rather than through fear of disappointing him. A good leader, among doing other things, inspires you to be better because loss of his good opinion is emotionally painful.

Yes, I have heard many stories of men dating a woman for years without marriage. Then they break up and he's married to someone else within a few months. Sometimes, it's not marriage, it's the woman. So it's a reasonable fear. Not being into marriage can be a sign he's not that into her. However, it is not automatically true just because he doesn't want to marry. Like I said, I think the woman would be wise to explore the reasons for his refusal to marry, and then decide if she wants to stay or …

Is it that different? The way I see it, slutdom and no-marriage attitudes can introduce trust issues into a lot of relationships. Both can really eat you up inside if you're not sure. "Is she bonding to me less?" "Is he refusing marriage because he wants to keep his options open?". Both questions have one implication in common, and that is "Am I right in putting all my eggs in this basket?" But I'd be curious to hear why you think there is a big difference.

I think red pill women want marriage like red pill men want chaste women to commit to. Someone might object to the latter by saying "looks like he just selfishly wants a virgin all to himself, rather than any specific woman. What an indoctrinated asshole". But in truth, previous sexual partners (esp. lots of them ) is a red flag for a woman, and not believing in marriage is a red flag for a man. However, a red flag does not mean you must dump them immediately, just check their character and find…

It seems true to an extent. Relationships often start because the guy just likes you so much after sex, and you like him. However, Amy from that example must be an excellent judge of character, if the guys she knows for only a week all turn into 4-year relationships. Or she is so good she fits almost anybody. That's the only somewhat unrealistic part of the analysis. Because we aren't so good at knowing people in one week, easiness can be correlated with short relationships afterwards.

Well, guys with abundance of options are not becoming bound to their promiscuous (sexually giving..) sexual partners, so it depends. Or the guy could friendzone you (maybe you're not hot enough to fall in love with), but I suspect it happens much rarer than the other way around. It helps not to jump out of your league too much, and to pick a guy capable of appreciation (psychologically balanced and healthy man you are talking about :) ).

This might have something to it. We're told that we must make ourselves indespensable to gain a man's love and commitment. Do all the girl game we can (plus serve him) and he'll appreciate us. But there is also that psychological effect where doing more for someone binds YOU to them, but not THEM to you. The more you do for them, the more you care, but on them, the effect might as well be very limited. There was a study done on this, but I can't find the link. Damn. But anyway, you can be as ser…

Of course, one must not swing from one extreme to another. If you're a doormat, you should not fix it by becoming a total bitch. The problem with these types of lists is that they are never nuanced enough to tell the whole story, or provide good advice. They, for example, might say "most women say yes too much" - is the reader one of these women, or is she someone who could afford to say yes more often? That is the problem.
/r/RedPillWomen13/09/13 04:31 PM

I think depending on what lens you use to look at the advice, the advice will look either right or wrong. For example "Don't say yes to everyone". The important part in this question is what and whom you are saying yes to.

If they are not, they will know I wasn't "truly sorry", lol. Saying “yes” to everyone else. Agree here too. Your yes'es should be selective. Actually, my perception changed as I reread her responses. Some other guy said pretty much the same advice, and she didn't snark back. Heck, she didn't even say anything nasty back to Whisper. Just cuz someone isn't responding, doesn't mean they didn't think about what you said. I think people here have a tendency to give good advice/speak truth, but do it is as nasty way as possible. Happened to me too - that is, asking why I rejected them. They didn't get mad at me, but they made the rejection drawn out. Not sure how to get out of this one. Part of me wants to tell him that you do not convince a woman (or a man) to be attracted to you by using logic. Perhaps I should say that. Might stop him from arguing my reasons for not liking him are invalid, and stop him from using that crappy seduction strategy at all.

I forgot to add to my comment that one should be polite, and avoid having a mean face or voice expression. In short, do all you can to leave only your honesty as a potential sign of bitchiness. I think in many situations, you won't escape being perceived as slightly bitchy. It's just the nature of male persistence - if you're trying too hard to soften the blow, he often thinks he still has a chance. That doesn't mean you need to be mean. Just be honest and let him realize he should move on. It might also help him to know what exactly you didn't like, so he has more info to analyze for later use. That's interesting to read. My own father was (maybe still is) an emotionally demonstrative guy (never cried a whole lot though), rather than stoic. Maybe cuz he's Russian (whether emotional demonstration is seen as masculine or feminine is cultural I believe), or maybe just naturally like that. However, it didn't make him unrealiable, and I'm happy with the parents I was given :) The issue is probably not emotional demonstrativeness anyway, but how well he handles crisis.

On the first date? Probaly not... It's the first impression you get, and a guy wanting you to pay or split signals something a woman doing the same is not signalling. Actually, you're right. Leadership IS a masculine trait. More men are into it than women, even though most people aren't good leader material and don't have enough motivation. But it makes me wonder: why strive so hard to push women into these roles? They'll never "catch up" with men in that area (statistically). Without knowing the context, I see it as neutral. Neither is it selfish, nor is it admirable. But for an individual, it can either be bad or good, depending on the reasons they chose not to have children. Because you never wanted them and were "made that way"? Good. Because you think they'll interfere with your "career" everyone says you should have? Bad.

I'm gonna have to disagree that companionship is something anyone can provide, or that it's not really anything special. When someone is in trouble, they find out the true meaning and value of companionship. Who will go with you to the world's end? I sorta had that problem, but not for long. I think the easiest way to make your important needs known is to voice them... The man will not guess them, he doesn't have the mind-reading ability. Hmm, one little thing. It is taxing and unnatural to always be happy and sunny. I don't recommend anyone try to fake it for the sake of higher attractiveness. It should be genuine. Pretending you're happy when you aren't leads to buildup of negativity, which will eventually come out. But on the other hand, I don't like the "I don't have your sexual problems" snooty asexuals either. Preference-related arrogance is unbecoming for everyone. "I like Transformers" - "Boo! You're an uneducated hick, you should like Citizen Kane, like me!". This is all it boils down to, isn't it?

That's a good breakdown of these things. These lists of "red flags" ALWAYS include stuff that is either abusive or non-abusive, depending on the context.

I think the man should help his woman tone down her mannish fighting style... Unless they both secretly like the fighting for dominance like that.

I don't think fighting dirty is inherently evil or whatever. I don't think verbal attacks in response to verbal attacks are abuse. But if you want to continue the relationship, you should never cross the line between criticism and personal attacks. Once someone crosses it however.. it might be hard to go back. Have you read " a cautionary tale"? ( http://redpillwifery.wordpress.com/2013/06/05/a-cautionary-tale/ ) It is a good example of a husband almost following your advice, because his wife tu…

Some people are just drama queens, and invite that sort of treatment. That is true, regardless of what LSB's real situation was. Of course, the most noble thing to do would have been to "simply leave", as some people said. But it's bad for health to be that restrained, unless you're totally unaffected by anything like Buddha. A little bit of backlash is ok, IMO.

Thanks for the thoughtful answer. I only share things that I adore about him. But many of them are cute rather than "manly". It's my compliments, not my scorn, that I'm forced to wonder about. The emphasis is less on admirable qualities like intelligence and alphaness, and more on funniness, playful character and other cute stuff.

I'm an INTJ as well. But that didn't translate into gravitating towards men more. I've found as many irrational men as irrational women.

Hmm, I wonder if it's ok to share silly details, if he said it was ok to do so? If he doesn't take himself very seriously?

I always had girls as friends. Had boys and men as friends sometimes, but mostly it has been other females. But I can't be friends with just anybody. My female friends are imaginative and introverted like me.

Indeed. Some strength is better than no strength, it's a tool that can be used in many practical situations :) And it's fun. It becomes more important as we age, as we lose muscle and bone. Some weight-bearing exercise is especially important to women, as we get osteoporosis more often.

I agree with him that action movies are not reality, but you're right. I often don't enjoy these badass female characters. However, I will always like Ripley and Vasquez(Aliens franchise). Ripley could never annoy me. Maybe because she never did anything superhuman. And Vasquez shows what a woman would really look like, if she was as badass as the movie made her out to be. Also, I think many of these female badasses are not created by women. There is a certain type of men who just love to see ch…

It was just a suggestion. I was curious to see what red pill women would think of it. On one side, the idea recognizes the legal trouble men have to face and is grounded in practicality. Sometimes women physically attack men, because they know for sure he won't retaliate or defend himself. On the other side, this idea goes against the feelings of red pill people in general. It messes with the sexual dynamics. The woman might feel less of the man, the man might feel guilty or emasculated. I think…

I agree it takes strength to be vulnerable. But I will respectfully disagree with the idea that vulnerability is the only useful strength a woman can have. But to each his own.

This comment made me think. A woman shouldn't have to fight her physical superior (a man). But at the same time, a man should not fight his legal superior (a woman), should he? Does it mean that if he is attacked by a woman, his wife or gf should protect him, since he is not allowed to fight back?

I disagree, but only in the definition of strength. Some men have told me submissive women are often the strongest. They are strong because they are wise, and don't feel the need to prove their strength all the time. It's obvious as it is. The verbose "tough girl" is the one who feels weak, and needs to show she is not. A truly strong woman is not running after everyone's (f. ex. feminism's) approval, has unbending principles and will defend what is valuable to her (f. ex. her family). I believe…

It's likely all of the above. Speaking as an outlier, I think outliers might think other people feel like them, deep down. Or that they can be converted to their version of preferences, which is "so much better". I remember many feminists who would come and express wonder about why you'd choose the red pill model of relationships, since it imposes so many rules and isn't always comfortable. Now, if you just became a feminist and had an equal relationship, THEN everything would be peachy for you!…

If a woman spends a lot of money on makeup, she would be more rational to use less of it on makeup, and more of it on things that will make her look good without makeup. I think our faces should be something to decorate, not hide or enhance. I don't want my man feeling let down when all the enhancements come off, and he finds out my "natural" look was not natural. So, either gain a pretty face without temporary paint, or use makeup as one uses jewelry. But not many women seem to like my view on …

How to inspire the man to work on his fitness: lift weights and become at least as strong as he is (no, you absolutely do not need to get big and burly for that to happen). He will get embarassed and want to catch up, lol.

Galina Grossmann inspires me. She has everything. Smarts, charm, beauty and artistic ability. If anyone has girl game, it is her (no idea how she is in real life, but on videos she is a magician). Too bad most of her videos are in Russian, or else I would recommend them for girl game improvement. Oh well, you can put on a dress and heels, and have a workout under her instruction :) http://www.youtube.com/user/DoktorGrossmann?feature=watch

I think many red pill men don't think marriage is a good idea in itself. They know they can end up losing half their stuff, so they say no. Many don't share their opinion, though.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
